Thanks bruh for posting. I appreciate your help. Will be using Starlink in Davao.
For sure dude! You should be fine if you order yours directly and ships into the Philippines. Good luck, I’ll be ordering another one to get it working🤙
it works in our office really amazing...
I'm so glad it works for you. I've heard really good things about it. A handful of people have encountered the same problem I have. I think it's either the payment method or the satellite needs to be purchased in the PH.
Bad news : it’s worked for me as well but after a while suddenly stopped working and the message says ( not working in this area ) so sad i don’t know what should i do
I saw that Starlink Roam started global roaming service which makes it possible to use it for oversea travel and you can also buy a service plan in each country. Do I know correctly or it is wrong information ? I was actually thinking about buying Starlink Roam device in Philippines and use it for oversea travel in the future.
didn't your case work because you didn't activate it in US first ? would it have worked in philippines if you had activated first in US ?
Im from Canada, just set mine up,i had to create a maya account, upgrade that to a virtual card, deposit money to it at 7 Eleven, then use that to pay.Deposit the money on maya acct first then you can make a virtual card.Worked no problem,if addres is a problem just put barangay followed by 1 at the end.I live in the province so no street address.Canadian cards do not work.Bought my kit at silicone valley in ayala mall in cebu city, saw a youtube video about this exact problem
Thank you for your sharing sending support new friend here ❤❤❤
Do you have a part 3 of this video?
Bought mine last week directly from starlink and it just cost 18500 for the hardware. currently paying 3300 per month for roam. Using it for backup internet in case PLDT failed which it always does. I also use it at my farm or whenever i camp in other places in the philippines.
Since you buy it from the US and your plan is roam regional the coverage will only be anywhere in the US. If you will use it in another country you have to change to roam global.
how's the power consumption of the whole starlink set-up?
trying for a few days already to order it from outside PH (China) for our home in the PH, can't even get the order in, tried PH bankcards, European bankcards, even Chinese bankcards, it continuously says there is something wrong on their end. used with VPN, without VPN, VPN connected to the PH, connected to the US, same thing over and over again
So crazy. It works for so many. For you and I running into the same problem. Did you find a solution?
So I stumbled across this video and I just want to shed some light on the people who might be looking to buy Starlink.
It is a general rule of thumb that the satellite/dish itself should have ZERO obstructions. This will greatly hamper the performance, or in my case -- I was not able to even set up Starlink properly. I had to mount the satellite and the stand that it came with to the roof of our house and voila, no more issues with finding a satellite to connect to.
nice....
Maybe God has His own plan to use you brother to lead a bright future to the Pilipino people proper and brought about to them the message of Salvation. God bless you and your family ♥️
Thank you, I pray to be faithful to the calling. The harvest is bountiful but the workers are few🙏💚
The device is shipped from California but provisioned for the Philippines.
That kind of disk operates only for residential plans or the card you used to activate..
This really is frustrating, to encounter something like this.
It totally is! Learned the hard way but learned none the less. I hope this helps others🙏
All you need to do is to check the support and service plan sites of Starlink.
Go check, don't just watch this video with an isolated experience.
If u got the device from the usa u need to activate the mobile global after adding ur starlink serial number to remove the country restriction mobile regional that if u want to use it anywhere in the Philippines and u got it from the Philippines but global if u got it from usa and u wanna use it anywhere in the world i hope this help
Maybe it will not work because of different continent. Try to change from roam regional to roam global maybe it will work.
Also, the error message should’ve have detailed that it’s because of it being hardware purchased in another country! Really bad!!
That would be the simple and smart solution. To have an error message that gives a reason. 👍
Having the same problem! We're on day 2 and still can't pay for a subscription! Starlink has the worst paywall system I've ever seen, especially if you're from the US.
Ain’t that the truth. I’m going to try a Philippines payment. After, if that doesn’t work, we’ll order a new one. Where are you located at?
Hello, Are you still having issues when you try to make a payment? If so, just enter your desired payment card and wait for 3 to 5 days, and then try submitting your payment every 12 or 24 hours. Starlink verifies cc authenticity before they process payment with new cards. I'm not sure how long the verification process is, but they do. I had a payment issue and tried to use a new cc. Nope, they would not work, even when I tried to use my original cc with the failure. Eventually, my original cc worked after 10 hours. I contacted Starlink and they said their is a burn in period for new cc. Funny, I had my payment issue in November also.
I'm not sure.. but it seemed during payment, there's no mobile data connectivity.
same with mobile phones. if bought in another country it should be turn on or used with the local sims of that country it was bought or it will not work in Philippines.
Yah, maybe there are retail laws or the phone company’s are controlling the markets haha. Phones are a bit easier to unlock. I’m having trouble unlocking the Starlink fml 😂
Hi, I'm new to your channel. I wonder if the person who's talking is a half-Filipino or not? Because he looks like a Filipino.
I’m actually Cambodian. Not even half😉
I get that all the time🤙
@@pursuitofcoconuts Oh I see. That's why you look like a Filipino because you're Asian too. I'm from Bohol by the way 🙂
@arthurabrea7569 awesome! You’ve got to check out the aquaponic farm we’re building 🤙
our starlink connected without any account and we connected to the wifi which is the way it should work because you may be remote like you were. Our problem is setting up the account. We bought a refurbished unit on the starlink site. Now it says "device already assigned" but we don't have an account. I ordered mine while in the US on starlink site with apple pay and shipped to my Philippine address
Why don't you get in touch with Tim K? I believe he uses Starlink. Also when you try to pay try to use a VPN.
Tim K from germany? 😂
late upload ba to sir? 28k kasi sa site ng starlink :(
28k it’s still not working😟
How much is the monthly subscription for starlink in Bohol
I have Starlink in Cebu and it is 2,700 pesos per month
should've just bought starlink over there instead of bringing one since it might be geo-locked .....
That’s what I’m going to have to do. I wish I’d had known before haha. Ya live and ya learn
Should have wished upon another "star"
These “stars” are expensive! 🤪🤣
it due to the cards are from the states..
I believe so. Will try a local card and give an update when time permits
Region locked?? The great ol’ capitalism.
It’ll be hard to get around any of this😕 Everything is going to go through tech driven by capitalism. At least we still can grow our own food haha
I believe the problem is your card. You need to update your address. You need to notify your card provider that you are using or traveling outside US. Once you use your card outside the US, this will be flagged as fraudulent transactions since the system recognized the transaction was outside the country where you are originally came from.
Thanks so much for the input. The card is open to the use in other countries already. I've heard of others having the same problem with a combination of buying the unit and transporting to another country along with using a foreign card to the country one tries to use the satellite. For the most part, I've heard really good things. It's on a small handful of occasions this happens. Unfortunately, I'm one of them this time 😅
Isn't there fiber coverage in your area? I think a fiber internet subscription would be cheaper, faster and more reliable if it were available there. Being a WFH employee ever since the pandemic started, many of my colleagues have moved back to the provinces and it seems that internet isn't a problem for them.
There isn’t fiber that has reached the farm area yet. I think it’s getting close but we are in the province. Where are you located? Come visit us when you’re around bohol.
@@pursuitofcoconuts I'm from Metro Manila but my dad was born there. Bohol's nice and I want to visit again soon.
I was in LA last year btw and I can't believe that you've traded that all to be here. It makes me appreciate my country more, especially that I didn't grow up here.
Yeah, one day I want to drop by. I wish you all the success there in the pursuit of coconuts. What you're after makes sense. We do have a lot of coconuts here in the Philippines but we've taken them for granted I guess. Thanks for being so interested in our country.
I've got an ide btw. I used to love Bounty chocolate, the one with coconut inside. It isn't much popular here but one day I hope your tribe would create a local variant of it.
Love it! We do miss LA and the States.
It’s a beauty country here in the Philippines and the people even more so.
So many resources here that I hope we can open up to the world. It would benefit so many people here, especially the low income farmers. Only trying to be faithful to the Calling, it ain’t easy but it’s worth it. Def drop a message when your back in the area 🤙 Appreciate the kind words from you. Blessings my friend 🙏
And the chocolate coconut idea… amazing. Someday! Maybe sooner than later haha
@@pursuitofcoconuts Thanks! Btw speaking of chocolates, Bohol and Visayas in general has a lot of cacao trees. One thing at a time though, but yeah I hope you get to leverage on that one as well.
You should be able to use roam not residential
That’s what I’ve been told but roaming is so expensive haha
How the speed
Just got Starlink yesterday. Absolutely CANNOT pay. The first message was payment declined. I tried three times, same message. I called my bank and they said they do not see any transactions to my account and nothing declined. I continued trying and got the message "Something went wrong, try again". I'm in the US, so this is not international. Everyone is having this. I have tried everything and cannot pay to activate this $600 piece of metal.
I'm feeling the same way. So frustrating!! Sorry that happened to you too
@@pursuitofcoconuts I was trying to pay on the starlink website with my windows lap top and the app on my android. We switched over to my son's Apple laptop, using ApplePay and the payment went right through immediately and the system turned on. Problem solved, but a bit of a mystery as to why. Anyway, it now works and works great.
Have you tried logging in to the Starlink website on a laptop or desktop to sign up and make payment? That's the method that worked for me.
it was simple
For most of my friends, it was simple. For us... not so haha.
No……. Try a Philippine bank card. As a payment method. Good luck bruh….
I will try it out but we are going to order one locally and see if it fixes the problem too. Let's see! Thanks for the input
Philippines is cheaper to buy. Was 30k. Now 19k. We were one of the first paid full price then they dropped long after we received it 😮😮😮
We both were! I wish they would refund but I guess that's the cost of being "leaders" and getting it first lol.
Seems like a problem with expectations....and that is a bit too western, perhaps.
Was hoping a western company like Starlink would have better support 😉
It’s probably geo locked
its geo locked :(
Just get a refund and buy a new one from the PH. It’s cheaper here hehehe!
I wish I could. I bought it from a store in the USA, after shipping and trying to get the refund and all, it won’t be worth it. Thanks though! Appreciate the suggestion
@@pursuitofcoconuts awww too bad
Just saying..if you keep cutting corners and say..yeah I know i should do it this way but I'm just going to do it my way. This is the problem
Not sure what corners were cut but others have encountered the same problem. I think the 2 solutions are: 1. use a philippines credit card or payment or 2. get a satellite from the PH.
sherpa? in the philippines?
Copy of what a Sherpa is lol. The best guide for the Philippines I could ask for!
What is funny is the device is marketed as an internet for off-grid users yet you need be connected to set it up hahaha
Great marketing! Great idea! Great tech! But fell short for me. I’m sure the ones that work are awesome for their users🤙🤪
@@pursuitofcoconuts actually lots of my friends has it but it does not compare to a fiber internet they said,
no connection needed Just download the app
