Around here fuel oil tanks require a manufacturing date stamped on the tank, and if it's over a certain age, IIRC 25 years, then it must be replaced; if you want to continue to have insurance coverage. I think a lot of people look at an elderly tank and if the furnace or boiler is older they rework the whole thing with high efficiency gas.
Thanks will try. Steve I have a enerjet. It had some kind of round ceramic plate in the burner it was shot I can't find any where. I made some out of fire brick and tried to mould out of boiler cement they told me to try at the boiler supply. Any sug for something to last?
Does the head being hot mean it's burnt out? I also have no hot down but plenty upstairs and one of my valve heads is hot to the touch. The thermostat is set to 72 so it should be calling but the first zone isn't firing the boiler.
For some reason my first floor won’t even heat up. I’m not sure if it’s the head? One of my heads (second floor) is connected to 2 wires and the other (first floor) isn’t connected to any wires. But I feel the steam pipes vibrating?
good repair steve,, i believe I might start carrying a small revolver in my tool box for self protection,, some of these guys talking to you in these vids sound sorta like carl on slingblade... maybe out some little rearview mirrors on those reading glasses so you can see who might be sneaking up behind you,,lol
sell him a new oil tank. i always condemn patch tanks on the spot, stop delivery. all it takes is that next delivery blown out tank. then customer says Steve never said it was not bad when he changed the oil filter.
