I really didn't understand the controversy around the lab leak theory. It was decried as racist, while saying it happened in a dirty wet market wasn't. It made no sense.
The lab leak theory was a comedy bit. Jon Stewart admitted it.

@ The problem was it was kind of a dumb bit. It relied on an audience not knowing the history of a lab that was in Wuhan for nearly 70 years or why it was built there.
It was a joke that mostly made fun of foolish people who just saw "oh yeah, a virus lab in the same city? No way, couldn't be."
And at the same time promoted the lab leak theory, that was already studied and found no evidence, but was being promoted by rightwing nutjobs who also said masks didn't work and the big government was going to put gold stars on everyone.

He was not only corny, he added to the division in this country with is Trump Derangement Syndrome. Trevor Noah was a company man. He never pissed off the Dems by going after them. That was his problem and the problem they point out here. He doesn't really know what he's talking about because he's not into politics at the activist level. He's a good comedian, host and personality, but he was not in the role to literally try and change things. John is. He's pointing out the obvious corruption on the left which is why the liberal media is literally saying he's a danger to America for pointing out Biden's OBVIOUS decline.
Trevor's cursory knowledge was a disservice to the brand. This is reflected EVERYWHERE without people trying to really say Trevor did a bad job. He did a alright job, but if you watched the Daily Show for all of John years, you know exactly what was missing.
Trevor Noah has a history of saying things to pander, and is self motivated. Jon Stewart comes from a point of view of extreme frustration with the system. You can see this in his fight for 9/11 responders. Trevor Noah wouldn't be caught dead near poor people.

Just because they took food from my kids , it's my goal to be a problem.

When he stood for first responders and cancer from 9/11, he was a winner in my book. When he stood in front of Congress for homeless veterans - I knew he cared about Americans. He cares. You don't know have to agree with him - but you know he cares about American issues....

@@themouthofsauron6926 So, he has gaffes. And those are admittedly weird outbursts, but Trump also has his moments, and no filter. He has shown active contempt for veterans, he mocks the disabled, practically spits on the grave of fallen soldiers, calling them losers and somehow still manages to convince people how much of a patriot he is, as though he didn't also dodge drafts.
Now, unlike a lot of people on the left, I don't think he's actually racist. But, not because of any positive reasons. For someone to be racist they'd have to care, even in a negative way, about a group of people. And Trump demonstrably does not care for anybody but himself and his image.
And do we actually know what Biden meant by "racial jungle", because to me, with my biases, it sounds like he was simply referring to a society obsessed with identity politics and race, which it already damn well is. It's already a jungle. Or a zoo.

That's the problem is both parties would try to crush an independent. What I think (not that anyone is asking) Is for a charismatic moderate to run as an independent. Maybe someone like Mark Cuban, Stewart that would steal votes from both parties and make them shit their pants. But can you imagine how much that person would get attacked by both parties. Because they are American and can talk about anything they want. There is no requirement to be politically savvy or to have spent "X" hours on politics to talk about it. They are civil and speak to different people about these topics. This is how people learn more and become engaged.

I think it's the other way around. Last Week Tonight was just a more long form version of the Daily Show. It all comes from Jon.

I thought it was very informative.
Every word of that Tucker segment was spot on. TC is a soulless opportunist who doesn't believe in anything but promoting himself and that's exactly what Jon brilliantly highlighted. What aspect of that segment did you have a problem with, exactly?
I agree with Jon Stewart that we've been stuck with two shitty choices, but between the two, I'm voting Joe Biden every day and twice on Sunday. I am sick and tired of this WWE type of politics that Trump has been playing, not to mention that he's a criminal that has been getting away with way too much for way too long throughout his life because he was born with dirty silver spoon in his mouth. I miss the old boring politics with lighter jokes.
