As a conservative fella, I have always liked Jon. He is more left than myself but he does a great job of calling out the BS all across the political spectrum. He fought hard on behalf of the first responders of the 9/11 attacks when they were forsaken by politicians who turned a blind eye to the injuries they incurred saving folks in and around the towers. He is a true comic who says what he thinks and I appreciate that.

I may be very alone in this opinion, but I don’t believe for one minute that Colbert wasn’t in on this bit. He keeps getting called out by stand ups for “interrupting” but if you ever watched any of their “OG” stuff from Daily Show and Comedy Central - you’d recognize it as their classic style. One of them would come out with an “opinion” the other would “disagree/push back/interrupt” and that would lead to Jon or Stephen getting more worked up and getting on a “roll.” Stephen was very much “performing” as “surprised/worried” but he KNEW this bit was coming. He was ready for it. And ultimately he DID give Jon the space, time and platform to do it. The only difference was, he couldn’t play HIS OG Report Character. He had to remain “host and straight-man.” I think it was probably hard for him - given their history and solid foundation. I miss “apolitical” Stephen who made fun of everybody. I miss his razor-sharp comebacks and the joy he brought to the Colbert Report which was the ONLY late-night worth watching during the writer’s strike - because his improv game was sooooo strong. Corporate media has castrated him, but I like to think that night he brought Jon on to get a little of his own back 💜. #IWant2Believe

@@AZ2PM don't try conservatives don't actually care about facts and science. Any science that disagree with them is the deep state but any science that agree with them are heroes for going against the tide of science. They are amazing at confirmation bias.

Akaash saying “conservatives” should be grateful that a guy like Jon is saying this is asinine. This should piss everyone off! The fact that social media and mainstream media has been censoring ppl saying this and now it’s becoming obviously true should worry and anger everyone

Look, I’m glad he spoke up. But you’re right, the problem is people like us aren’t allowed to. 👍

“There are only two ways of telling the complete truth, anonymously and posthumously” Thomas Sowell.
While he’s right he should also add humour to that quote.

no, better thought processes are required. The US of A was founded without parties and you thinking in terms of left or right (this or that), is the thought process of a child. Life is a spectrum and much like the electromagnetic one, most is hidden to the naked eye.

remember this dude pretty much shut down crossfire by going on there and just destroyed them. and I wouldn't be surprised if Colbert new exactly what John was gonna do. Remember Colbert stayed in character for years. In fact, id wager Colbert asked John to do it.

Absolutely correct. Stewart is also a producer on the show. Colbert uses the show as a trojan horse quite a number of times.

I think Schultz' dislike of Colbert is blinding him a little. I just saw them doing a bit together and Colbert seemed to be enjoying and not acting like "Oh no, what do I do". He was just playing the straight man, which made Jon's ranting funnier.
