I had a RUclips and apple music subscription and I canceled them the day Rogan moved to spotify. Now I have my music and podcasts in one place and pay just 25% of what I used to pay google and apple.
I also listened to a lot less pods of Jre once he switched to Spotify. Only would listen to specific guests. I used to listen to almost every episode prior.

I don't know dude, I do pay for Netflix + Prime + HBO. RUclips, Spotify for free (I tolerate the ads). Would easily also use Hulu on top. There is space for multiple, like two to three large ones. Which is usually the case as in oligopolies.
In tech it seems being first to market is way more important than being the best in the space. Because getting people to switch from one platform to another is hard. Sure there are others in the space and do okay but Netflix was first to that space and everyone else is just trying to catch up. RUclips pretty much runs that market place sure Rumble and others get viewers but can't touch RUclips.
Nah I disagree. I can see rumble taking off because it allows voices that will be censored on RUclips to have a platform. What they really need to do is make it so that it’s exactly like RUclips but with absolutely no limit to what you can post. As crazy as it sounds for once I agree. When he announced hed be back on youtube I was excited (even though I also made the switch to spotify) the last four episodes that have also been on youtube I find myself clicking the spotify app when the youtube notifcation pops up. Ive noticed the youtube copy drops first but if dont click the notifcation and just clear it, when I open my phone to listen my first instinct is to click spotify to listen, without thinking. but for EPs like protect our parks all I do is spotify, marked in a folder and all together and when new episodes drop their added to the folder. (Granted POP didnt start till after the deal so who knows if id had done the same with youtube) but other than OG episodes my favorite listens are only on spotify unless they add those to JREs youtube library. Also apple musics fucking sucks.

Audible let me “pause” my account for 6mo so I could catch up. They stopped billing me so I could burn up my credits and get down to 1-2 credits instead of the 20+ I had stacking up. I got the Outlander series that are 50ish hours each so I got way behind 😅

I’ve never paid for Spotify a day in my life. I listen to the Rogan episode in full on it if I like the clips I saw on RUclips. I only used the app to listen to Joe Rogan and Joe Budden. Everything else right back to apple. And since they both are off the exclusive stuff…I don’t need the app.

Ads made me leave Spotify the MINUTE JRE was available on Apple Podcasts. Having JRE on both the Apple Podcast App and on RUclips is a much nicer experience. Also, listening to these bumbling ding dongs raved about Spotify ensured that I felt I made the right choice.
