It looks like Jon and Bunny are talking about something that they are looking at. Spine does not like what they are looking at. Zero is pointing at something next to it. Hatchworth is looking at something next to that. Upgrade is looking at something completely different than all of them.
one thing i will definitely miss from the gone band members are jon's artwork, upgrade's cute role in the band's 'story,' hatchworth's spooky aspect, and above all: their bubbly stage personalities and vocals. it's a shame that they had to leave from complications, both positive and negative, but that never stopped the band from makin me chuckle and laugh. im positive zer0 will be a _perfect_ addition, since his personality perfectly fits in place with the others. i have high hopes for the future!
Addendum: regarding the lyric: "I know you don't like how I feed...". My question is, why? Why would someone object how our favorite robot band powers up?
This might be cheesy, but I haven’t cried in months, and this made me cry really hard at how beautiful it sounded. I miss The Jon, Upgrade, Matt Smith, and Hatchworth.
Its ok they didn't; upgrade wasn't ok with singing that much, jon was a bit lacking in such a demanding band, and hatchworth had a conflict of interest, so these little conflicts might not allow future events together
biggy cheese they were all at the 10th anniversary show, they all came out and performed. What they’re saying is it would have been neat for them to perform this with all the verses since they were all together at that show.
homestar546 been listening to the Benettarium and from what I remember essentially he just wanted to go off, try something different and develop himself more, artistically, they’re all still friends and know they can collab and have Hatchworth back whenever because he’s happy to do it!
I just discovered SPG 2 months ago and been on a bige listening to all of there music from past and presents. All the characters are so awesome and unique im there own way and brings so much variety to the table in SPG.
Excellent work! You even did a good job in blending the differing tempos of the recordings, so that it seemed like deliberate up- and down-turns in the song. Highly impressed!
It's interesting to listen to this version and hear how the pacing of the song has changed over the years. I've noticed it in some of the other songs that they've redone on later albums.
This was very well put together. I only found SPG less than two weeks ago while I was sick and home from work (still recovering). And I've been on a huge binge ever since. Also have a huge crush on Bunny, but I don't think I'm alone there. ❤ Shame there isn't a studio recording of Zero for his verse, this would then have been a perfect 'mash up' You did good, hope the band has seen this. 😉
Nice job! I haven't heard all the versions before. I really enjoyed this. This also reminds me how out of touch I was the past 3 years... Or so... Felt like especially during covid I had no time for myself dealing with everyone else's fears and anxieties
Hearing all the voices in one of my favorite songs makes me so incredibly happy, and the slightly different styling of this already awesome song just makes it so much more so
I just stumbled on Bumblebee a couple of days ago...wow. Ive been in a steam powered rabbit hole ever since. Thank you for doing this....even if I'm years late to the party.
Wow. I did not think I'd have my heart broken again by this band at 11 AM on a Tuesday, over five years after I left their fandom in the first place. This band meant a lot to me at one time, and got me through some really stressful stuff... which is one reason the direction they were taking at the time hurt me so badly. Not so much creatively as just... the hurtful things the band members (the Bennetts in particular) said and the awful ways they acted on social media soured the entire thing for me. This song, in particular, has always been one of my favorites, and still fills me with so many emotions, even all these years after being so disappointed in the artists behind it. I hope they've learned and become better, more sensitive people in the time since I left.
I've saw a lot of people talking about this but none explanation. If you could tell me what they said I would like to know, but if you don't want to say it's okay.
I don't really know either. From what I can tell, I guess it's the apologies they gave because 2 of their band members (sound tech and 2nd drummer, one who replaces Hatchworth) were lackluster and I guess, if you're religious, you could count Rabbit's transformation as offensive??? You'd kinda think with a band as big as this, there'd be 1 or 2 youtube videos talking about it.
@@UserStupidity Well, in my case, it DEFINITELY wasn't Rabbit, given I'm also trans myself and also... not religious. For me, the behaviors that upset me back in the day were things like the Bennetts posting some really personal and potentially triggering content on their tumblrs without any tags or warnings and generally being rude to people on there, Izzy making jokes about eating disorders, just... general asshole behavior and unprofessionalism.
@@UserStupidity I already gave a couple of examples. It was primarily just the twins being really rude to people on tumblr and David in particular picking fights and refusing to trigger warn for anything he posted ever, even when asked nicely. They never apologized or seemed bothered at all when anyone would try to voice concern to them about this behavior or even just politely say "hey, this is kind of upsetting." David in particular was super fucking rude anytime anyone disagreed with him about literally anything. I remember I personally had to hold myself back from getting into it with him because he was just... SO rude and unprofessional in how he handled himself among people who were fans and supporters of his work. It just kept happening over and over and the bad vibes piled up until I just wasn't enjoying being in that community anymore and had to leave and unfollow all of them.

Not to say that they aren't still great (they're one of my favourite bands), but I think they were the best when it was still Rabbit, The Spine, The Jon, and Upgrade. Hatchworth was pretty good, but I'm not digging Zero all that much. He's not bad, though.
That would be Erin Burke, aka Upgrade. She was part of the original formation of the band alongside the Bennet twins and Jonathan Sprague, aka The Jon. You can see some of her stuff searching for their first album and early presentations here on youtube. She left the band to pursue an acting career, as she wasn't quite so much into singing, from what I understand.
Seeing all the very talented artists, performers, and characters, (make up and all), leaving the band over the few years that it has been together is sad. The replacement are full of great talents all the way around, but still not a groovy as the original band, or near original band members. This songs somewhat leaves the cute story tell pop band feel, and in a way attempts to be somewhat progressive musically. Overall it is a good song, but falls short in the producing of the material, hit and miss lyrics, and a few hints of barrowing musical ideas from other artists from past years. lastly, some of the harmony lines are weak, like you were trying to hard to be clever.
Far too many changes in such a short space of time. A band that peaked too early and have never recaptured their original magic. Far too much time spent discussing Rabbit's gender issues and the reasons the original members have fallen 1 by 1. I loved them because of the music not their hang ups. I feel sorry for the Spine he has just been swept up in all the drama. Sadly we've seen the best of SPG, it was fun a few years ago whilst it lasted.
I found the band a couple months ago, and trying to get a grasp on all the changes has been less than easy. As good as they are, they have a very high turnover rate, and that only counts the main members, as the secondary "no name" players also get rotated out a lot. They apparently wouldn't acknowledge or discuss Upgrade due to her leaving for YEARS, not until the 10th anniversary, Jon left over some drama, Hatchworth may have had some drama too. Rabbit's change had to be acknowledged with a massive costume change in the stage show and brought to the forefront- the only other option would be to pretend she was a new character though, and no matter what "fanboys" are going to get mad- they always do. They think entertainment belongs to them and not the creators who have to work to make it. I also get the feeling the lengthy makeup & costuming needed for every music video, concert and other live appearance probably adds a lot more stress to the whole thing, and some of the members might just get sick of doing a 1-2 hour session on a frequent basis which contributes to them wanting to do other things. I like Zero but with the history of the others leaving so often, I fear by the time anyone gets properly used to him, he'll be gone too. This is always a problem with bands like this- Judas Priest is going through the same and has been ever since Halford had his existential crisis, KK Downing had to become a huge crybaby, and their drummer had to be replaced after sexually assaulting someone. Misfits have also had numerous issues thanks to Glenn being a huge pain in the ass, at best it's Jerry Only trying to keep the name alive and out of total obscurity. Changing members too much has a bad habit of not being good in the long run for a band's image and unfortunately, while SPG has a good thing, I agree, it may not last much longer if they don't get things under better control.
RicTic66 I absolutely 100% agree. At 60, I discovered SPG around Christmas 2019- from the earliest zoo performances to Hatchworth... and within two weeks of viewing, encountered the "Zero" addition. Fell flat on its face at that point. RIP, SPG.
@@mayaithegg I just don't care for his voice. And I don't like the new lineup. They were so good with the original group. They had such crisp pretty voices. And zero just has this raspy low voice that doesn't appeal to me.
@@joker-mo8cb oh.. I see. Completely valid. I liked the harmony and the mix of sound they had in the past too honestly. But I think with just some time I'll get used to Zero.
I get it. Zero's voice doesn't fit in with the group like Hatchworth or Jon's voices did. He sounds out of place, and I really miss Hatchworth, but I'm hoping to get used to him the more we get to hear from him.
Apparently the Jon was a royal pain to work with. (You could barely get him to do his part.) And Hatchworth didn't really care about SPG as a whole. So hopefully Zero adds some much needed stability.
