My son has been listening to you guys since he was 18 months old. He's on the spectrum, and after he regressed at 15 months, your music was the only thing that calmed him down. He's still a devoted fan, and he just turned 5 in August. He's considered partial nonverbal, but the clearest words he can say is the lyrics to all of your songs. He loves this song so much, and is probably one of his favorites to date.
Everyones already said how much they love the robotic movements, but I really enjoy how everyone of the robots each move a liiiiiitle differently. It's a nice touch, since canonically they're built differently in the fiction of SPG.
Oh, no... No, that's not talent. That's dedication. Sheer and astonishing dedication. Talent only go so far. That love they put in it... That's what we see right there...
It reminds me of Ginger Rogers, doing everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards in heels. SPG has really developed some serious skills over the years.
I recently got into them after watching a Sarah Z video on I think it was dashcon failing and they were "hired" to play there but it was with 2 different members, not the girl and the black guy which i came to like but I feel like the original group was the peak of their talent.
Song is Great. I just wish my son would come back home. He introduced me to their music. We would watch all their videos together. Along with his mother and younger sister. We met them at a Steampunk festival. Bunny was his inspiration. You see he was born my daughter. But became my son. Even though he thought he had no courage . He was very strong. I am very proud of him. Miss him and Love him.

I like that both 'Hot on the Trail' music videos are very direct and focused on The Spine and how he emotes while singing; there's no cutaways to distract from the pure feelings the song and the singer's expressions invoke.
god damn i love David Bennett's voice and could easily listen to his vocals end on end for hours. superb version of an already damn near perfect track. excellent work everyone!
My son and I only discovered spg a few months back. Now we are both hooked. Spg is so incredibly talented. This version is by far my favorite spg song right now. I listen to it on repeat. And watch the video more than a person should. Thank you, spg, for being so amazing ❤
This version tears me apart..... I love the original both compositionally and cinematically. This though rips me open. It's so raw. So real. Bravo to you guys! I love this 100%
Hot on The Trail was already my favorite song in the album because the song just spoke so much to me (although, lying awake was a close 2nd), but this version has cemented my view. The passion, the emotion, and I've always been a sucker for acoustic instrumentation. 100%, great job everyone, all of the songs in this album have both been absolute bops, and an amazing combination of the band's newer style and the old days in a way that meshes so perfectly. Y'all have really outdone yourselves with this one. Definitely will be buying the album.
I'm normally not a big fan of acoustic music, but this song is really enjoyable. One thing that makes SPG stand out is how wonderfully the singers' voices combine; listening to it acoustically really lets you appreciate all of the vocalizations, every note, how they blend so beautifully, and it's just wonderful. Plus the raw, emotional sound in David's voice isn't something you get too often with robots, but it adds a beautiful weight to the story. A treat for the ears.
I get so mad that drama channels on youtube have millions of subscribers and fans but SPG has less than 300k. At the same time, I appreciate that they are small, because the tendrils of mainstream media have no interest in real talent, and small creators. So they can't warp them. Nothing but love for SPG. This is absolutely incredible. 💞
Please please please, make an acoustic album... This song is everything. This performance brought tears to my heart, felt like words i never new ow but needed to say.
3:14 just hits home. I love the passion and power in his voice and it brings me so much joy :') I found this band about a week ago (at the time I posted this) They have such emotional and heartfelt performances despite being robots. Absolutely stunning.
Probably not what you want to hear, but hot on the trail is basically my life right now😅. I feel it so deeply, which just makes me want to listen to the song more
The Spine is the only one who has primarily the same as how he started, and I feel like it fits his character as the grounded one who's a lot more aware
Hot on the Trail is the band’s (and Spine’s?) new “Honeybee.” Meaning people will play it as their first wedding dance despite the context of the song. 😉
Just when I thought I couldn't love this song any more...y'all go and make an acoustic version! On a serious note, it's been difficult recently for many folks to see positivity in anything or have hope for the future. I can only imagine how all of this is affecting the band as well. So from the bottom of my heart (that's the red, squishy thing humans have in place of a power core, Rabbit 😅), thank you all for continuing to be a beacon of light in these uncertain times. ❤
Oh, I was just on a binging spree, what a great timing. Can you believe I heard Brass Goggles like a week ago and my first thought was "this was uploaded 8 years ago, and, as all great things, they probably don't exist anymore"? This is delightful, and I am happy RUclips decided to recommend this to me (albeit 8 years too late). Me hearing the samples: /jaw dropped in awe/ How dare you hurt me sweetly like that. P.S. Okay, but is this on vinyl? Because it absolutely should be. P.P.S. I am absolutely heartbroken over the absence of Fart Patrol.
My first song was also Brass Goggles : D. I first heard of them in September of 2019 and i've been able to witness so much content by them. It's always such a treat to discover all of these new and old videos that you've never seen before.
Gosh darn it this is amazing. Somehow this packs even more of a punch than the non acoustic version. I only discovered SPG in the last year or so and I have to say I am so very glad I did. Such beautiful songs and such incredible vocal performances. Thank you for your music!
Ah, this song is incredible. Like...wow. Everybody is amazing in it and clearly gave everything they had. Both in writing and performance, singing and theatrics. Bravo.
I so love this version!!! The emotion and harmonies are just so amazing. It really hits me where my heart is. It reminds me a lot of my departed wife. I miss her so, and this song just makes the pain a bit easier to deal with. Steam Powered Giraffe makes me happy, and their music just touches my soul. I wish I could just get the chance to tell them how their music makes my world an easier place to deal with since my wife's passing. Thank you for just being out there, doing what you do.
This song made the last few months of my life. Literally can't stop listening to it, feeling all the passion and tenderness and effort put in it. Shining skin and shining soul.
I have an unhealthy obsession with this band. They're so good, and as a trans man I'm so happy to see a trans woman in one of my favorite bands. I love you guys so much!
What a beautiful song - filled with love, hope, pathos..it has everything. So exquisitely performed by David, Bunny and Bryan. A masterpiece. Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
This is probably my favorite of the acoustic on the new album! Wow this one is beautiful all of them are amazing in this song but David is absolutely singing his heart out!
I loved this song initially because of how much I connected the lyrics with past mental health turmoil from going through the worst of couple of conditions of a dissociative disorder and Bipolar 1. I forgot how to connect with others. Now hearing this makes me remember there's a difference between then and now. Thanks for putting your brass hearts into your music.
Holy shit this is so fucking good guys. The original is my favorite spine song and this version is easily second place. You're amazing man. You all are.
This was already my new favorite song, like many others it just resonated with my soul in a way other songs don't, and just when I thought this song had given me everything it could, they release this masterpiece. Both versions hit in such different ways! By the verse do I love this band!
This version of Hot on the Trail is absolutely amazing! I honestly can't pick a favorite between this one and the studio version. And the acting here is just as wonderful, as always! The larger robotic movements and the smaller microexpressions on The Spine's face manage to combine in such a way that is just (*Chef's Kiss*) beautiful. That's all on top of the lovely harmonies and vocals we've all come to know and love. Bravo and well done, all of you.
