I tried playing K7 for the first time in dolphin back in 2013 but it was laggy as hell and when I tried shooting angel's wings the game just freezed. I tried again in 2016 on PCSX2. I absolutely loved the game but it ran at such a low framerate it was frustrating at times. When I saw a review that said that it ran in 60 FPS on steam I didn't think twice and bught it right away. I just hope they plan on doing something like a sequel to Killer 7 or at least release hand in killer 7 as a DLC ;-;
I played killer 7 on gamecube w a gcvideo adapter in 480p widescreen. Looks nice but i always find comparisons between gc games and their remasters annoying when the show the gc in 4:3 cos most games do support widescreen
So the seeming string of Suda 51 titles on Steam implies we might get Lollipop Chainsaw. I really hope so. That game would benefit greatly from 60+ fps, improved graphics, and both gameplay and skin mods.
Only thing that I do wish this port had (other then a tutorial with keyboard and mouse prompts) is being able to use motion aiming on it. Would use steam to intergrate motion aiming. But the way you play this game, it's just not possible. Huge nitpick that won't matter to most people, myself included. But more options are always nice. Also having the real proper options menu in a windows xp like sepeate window. They should have put full binding in the proper game
I hate the fact that it requires Directx11 to play since my PC can only go so far as DX10 fml Btw did this port remove some of the cutscenes from the original or not ?
I religiously and thoroughly played this game since it came out, all the way to my adulthood. I was 15 at the time, and it hit me like a baseball bat to the knee because it was so unlike other gamecube games; not only in the fact that the presentation was so well executed and interesting, but the actual playing part was amazing and fresh. And still, with all the weird shit going on and the -over the top- narrative, there was space for characters doing cool shit, allies being strange and interesting, experimental game mechanics and a soundtrack that doesn't even have any right to begin with to be so fucking GOOD. They could've stopped at the experimental mechanics part, but noooo, they went hard as shit on the fucking music. Listening to Masafumi's work in No more heroes just makes it even more impressive; the whole team really knew what they where doing and how they wanted to convey it. I had never been able to explain quite right what this game is about when i tried to recommend it to friends. It was such an oddity. This game aged like a Diamond.
Never thought I would ever replay this game. But never knew that playing with different inputs would change how I play the game. That and I'm experimenting trying to have motion aiming and being able to easily switch persona's with the right stick. Never knew that alone would have some enjoyment value Don't get me wrong, keyboard and mouse is the best input. But it's nice to have options and I know some people would rather aim with the gyroscope
The only thing I can think of every time I see gameplay of this game is "How the fuck do you play this?" Now I can ask myself that at a buttery smooth 60fps
Something I wish people would consider before playing this game in 16:9 instead of the original 4:3 is how uncoventionally framed many of the game's scenes are. I think of the scene when the two Japanese guys in the second level only have the very tops of their heads visible as they explode, and suggest thinking about all the extra stuff you can see on the left and right of the screen as visual info that would make that scene less jarring if the pseudo letterboxing wasn't in place throughout this game.
I can understand that, though I think in the original version the aliasing detracts from the visual style, so it's nice to see it looking a lot sharper now
I've literally never heard of this game, but I was /way/ behind on tech during this period because of my families finances. This game popped up on Steam and the name sounded generic so I passed it by. Now, I'm taking a second look at picking it up.
Just looking at the Silver Case games I hope this one also comes to ps4. Easily my #1 game of all times! Loved it back in '05 and now even more. From the first glance I made at this game I knew it was something special and god I was right. I have a good feeling about ps4 relese and when that day comes nobody will be happier than me. Peace friend
Why? Why have the game on locked down platforms with hard DRM, system lock in and processing limits? This game runs on PCs from 2012 at 1080p60, I can confirm as much. Why get an inferior version?
So with the in engine cutscenes, I wished they zoomed in the camera and gotten rid of the red bars on the top and bottom. Those cutscenes were made with 16:9 in mind. Making them ultrawide just makes the framing in some scenes worse. One cause the composition is worse, another is cause it can show things you weren't meant to see like the gun appearing out of nowhere. But mostly cause the framing is worse
Did you set the language to Japanese? I'm pretty sure that changes the region version.
My mistake, added a disclaimer. I only started it up once while capturing footage of the entire game and completely forgot about that being an option. Thanks for pointing it out, though!
Great vid. Loved the Gamecube version back in the day and was skeptical with that trailer, definitely gonna play this version now.

So the seeming string of Suda 51 titles on Steam implies we might get Lollipop Chainsaw. I really hope so. That game would benefit greatly from 60+ fps, improved graphics, and both gameplay and skin mods.
i never played the game b4 the steam port i just finished it tonight fuck it was something special loved it
Can anyone link the video with those journalists playing Killer7 with Suda?
Played demo on ps2 back in the days. It was great, got new port on steam and absolutely love it
Just finished it (the Steam version) and it was amazing. Great video too
is not available anymore ive been trynna play this game since it came out
God hand will be in pc TOO !!
well made video. Got the game on sale on humble
Bought limited edition with this freakin art book. And here i thought they wouldnt release it. Suda is GOD!
I hate the fact that it requires Directx11 to play since my PC can only go so far as DX10 fml
Btw did this port remove some of the cutscenes from the original or not ?
The PS2, Xbox and the NGC were the sixth generation, not the fifth.
Woops
I would love to replay this game after nearly 16 years but I’m not a pc gamer. Why couldn’t they port it to PS4 or Switch?
Wonder why this didn’t get ported to modern consoles?
Never knew that alone would have some enjoyment value
Don't get me wrong, keyboard and mouse is the best input. But it's nice to have options and I know some people would rather aim with the gyroscope
I love this game
Finished it couple times when it was released on ps2 and recommend many people to play it but it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea -
Well once i get a pc time to play this again been a long time to.
Are you going to do the clusterfuck Suda made called The Silver Case video?
please do.
Down the line, after I cover his Western-motivated action games.
@@Ghenry Cool, No More Heroes!
So speaking of Nippon echi software mind revieing soul nomad, the disgaea series and phantom brave
The only thing I can think of every time I see gameplay of this game is "How the fuck do you play this?" Now I can ask myself that at a buttery smooth 60fps
With Dan showing up in Travis Strikes Again, does this mean Suda owns Killer7 again? Or did the guy have to pay royalties to use his own character?
I bought a ps2 copy of killer 7
I had a blast but if i knew that it would have got a steam release i wouldn't have spend 30+€ on ebay
Well, I didn't even play the PS2 version and I barely know what is this all about.... should I play it?
Yes
thk you Mr. Ulmeyda...)
i kinda prefer the 480i softer look compared to sharper looking polygons in 1080p, but it's nice thats 60fps is possibleu
I can understand that, though I think in the original version the aliasing detracts from the visual style, so it's nice to see it looking a lot sharper now
wish list plz
I want Freedom Fighters now, it's still a solid game and there's still nothing to compare it yet.
I've literally never heard of this game, but I was /way/ behind on tech during this period because of my families finances. This game popped up on Steam and the name sounded generic so I passed it by. Now, I'm taking a second look at picking it up.
Just hoping for that sweet sweet Switch port
i acttually found a cib copy of killer7 on gamecube for 50$ last year.
Any info on the ps4 relese?
Hard to say. Maybe if this sells well? Clearly this port was very budgeted.
Peace friend
the mouse sensitivity is too low imo
This game and MGS 2 mindfucked aloy of people...
This needs to hit the Switch with optional motion controls!
Why? Why have the game on locked down platforms with hard DRM, system lock in and processing limits? This game runs on PCs from 2012 at 1080p60, I can confirm as much. Why get an inferior version?
Joseph
Because I want to.
Best game eva
This is my favorite game and I can’t play it because my PC is sucks. So freaking sad.
Suda51 fix *Killer is Dead* port you magnificent bastard!
Don't play on PC but will use my dead steam account to support my boy!
Major grossness! Love this game!
To bad we'll never get a killer8 spinoff
We already got killer8 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
ooo i thought it would never release LOL
So with the in engine cutscenes, I wished they zoomed in the camera and gotten rid of the red bars on the top and bottom.
Those cutscenes were made with 16:9 in mind. Making them ultrawide just makes the framing in some scenes worse. One cause the composition is worse, another is cause it can show things you weren't meant to see like the gun appearing out of nowhere. But mostly cause the framing is worse
