Zach, did you hear about the new "goth gamer" movement? I heard it's all the rage with the kids. They even call themselves a "goth gamer nation".

    • @jakedill1304
      @jakedill1304 Год назад

Is it an Islam thing? Cause I've always been a lil suspect at trying out a ground up main fork off of islam... like it's annoying getting things like Wahhabism contextualized under the main fork as a component as a whole as by design your not supposed to be differentiating anyhow, bad reputation gets its spread as fast as the cold hard cash that spread the corruption whole sale from what was a minor and insignificant dead end till the Saudi oil boom... But at the same time, when you are trying to keep it from having any dead weight as spirituality instead of an organized religion, forks just kinda add all the more opportunity for that to happen, ie how the Shia branch ended up with a technical pope, in a faith that by it's core tenant has no organizational structure...
So I wish em all well, God knows the nation is one of the worst in adding structure and religion to the faith and could benefit from a mix up of re-examining priorities (not in a Shodan way of course)... I guess I just liked the Malcolm X approach better where you just drop the pretense altogether... but people gonna be people... everyone's gotta feel like they belong to something... and that where your real problems start... Beit human or corporate or object, ideology is the killer of the human soul... so I hope these goth kids don't end up like those hair metal kids back in the 80's... next thing you know you get Motley Crue and even worse... alternative radio stations.

It's almost adorable, how they regularly run into walls and guzzle stuff they find under the sink looking for "the good stuff" that they heard about on their FaceBooks.
On the other hand, they don't even know how to use a safety pin or tie their own Daemonica boots, so it's pretty superficial at best... Still, points for at least trying to emulate one of the better counter-culture movements in history.

I have heard way back that this is kinda the case with the OTHER Twin Peaks inspired game made out there, Mizzurna Falls. It copies a lot of the story beats of Twin Peaks to the point where you kinda have to ask "what's the point? To embelish yourself on an already made story?" I dunno though I love seeing how Japan filters western media through their heads, its just strange that they don't "do something" with the preestablished stuff.

Deadly Premonition is easily my favourite game of the generation - the character of York, and the way the main story is told goes a long way to cover up for it's gameplay faults. That being said... The 360 version was incredibly more stable than any other version & more focused - even if some gameplay feels a little more jank. There's sooo many issues with the Director's Cut that it really does a disservice to the game, even if it wasn't perfect.
The side stories & events really highlight the purpose of the open world & night/day system though - they really add more dimension to the overall game though.

The PC version wasn't great. I remember having trouble fighting Kaysen because I couldn't aim vertically above a certain height. It was like there was an invisible boundary on the screen that couldn't be crossed. Also, Nvidia Shadowplay would only output a slice of the screen. Not the most busted old console port I've seen, though.

This game was just OH SO BAD! It looks worse than if you took those two guys from Contra on the NES and traced them onto paper enough times to populate that town Two Tops or whatever and have them do so after cutting them out with scissors. Watch some kid push those paper figures around for a couple days and boom, you just played this game. I seen this game has a "cult following" or "people like it" or whatever ya wanna call it. and I just think it's weird because I played it and DIDN'T like it so I can't help but wonder why they would lie like that, ya know? Psh, I don't even care and didn't wanna even leave this comment but I simply had to. Literally, I had no choice! Just imagine if I hadn't, eh? Than I probably wouldn't have wasted my time here and possibly even applied it elsewhere toward something productive.
Seriously though, it's interesting seeing those comments. A few seemed oddly wound up for some reason as if they were offended that anyone else could have derived enjoyment from the game.

This charming little goth boy gremlin has better nail polish game than most of the women I've ever known.
I'm never not impressed by this.

Big thanks for going into the story and themes of this game in such detail! I could never stomach the unstable code and tedious gameplay, so experiencing it vicariously is such a treat!

Gotta love that mp5 with a 360 round magazine even though the reload is really fast so the gun didnt need that much ammunition

The early critics were right, this game is bad (and so is Twin Peaks).

With how you broke down this and Max Payne, I'd honestly love to see you cover Alan Wake.
I feel like you'd do such a great job with it, and with the sequel and remaster/remake coming I don't see a better time then now to cover it.

This game is way too clever for its own good and employs a lot of what are, in retrospect, very blatant clues that allude to its twists and the identity of its antagonists.
    MASSIVE SPOILERS
    - Red Trees grow outside Greenvale’s Sheriff’s Department and George’s house.
    - George’s house is the only one which cannot he peered into, as its windows are boarded.
    - George’s truck license plate literally reads “IMTHE1”.
    - sometimes George’s nameplate will show that he is at the Galaxy of Terror, but disappears when you enter, meaning he’s in the hidden room below the bar.
    - York cautiously opens doors and looks to both his left and right, because when he was attacked as a child, Forrest Kaysen was in his blind spot and this defense mechanism still remains.
    - during the introductions, George tells York that you “don’t have to be a tree worshipper to appreciate the beauty in [Greenvale].”
    - this one is 100% speculation on my part, but I think the comment Kaysen makes about “throwing a blonde in a bikini into the boy’s locker room” foreshadows his betrayal of Emily. Red Saplings, in order to sprout, must be ingested by a female and then fertilized, where it sprouts from the abdomen. The implication when we find Emily, after she’s been “soiled” by Kaysen, is that he has sexually assaulted her.

I can play it, now? Thank you! Missing this over Mass Effect, this game is now priority (and costs less too).
I played it for a couple of hours at my friends place and although, "Twin Peaks" was far away from the revival it's seen as of late I immediatey flashed back to being 15 years old. "This game is so 'Twin Peaks'!". Immediately hooked me, while everyone else was so, "whatever" at best, regarding this title.
I so appreciate this vid. THANK YOU. I'm not some "super-gamer", but this title was one I always felt that I missed out on.
You've done a good deed, sir. May all of your daily Horroscope's bring ambiguous news of good fortune, while vaguely applicable to the circumstances of your personal life.

I originally started out looking for a new horror game back in 2010-2011 since I had played them all up to that point. I stumbled upon Deadly Premonition absolutely never hearing of it, there was only one copy available within a 25 mile radius around me and I rushed to grab it for some reason. I popped it in my Xbox 360 and I just played it straight through, I have no clue how to describe how addictive the game was but I absolutely could not put it down until I finished it. It was the most delightful experience I've EVER had with a game, and to this day it is my favorite (and yes, I am a little disappointed by the sequel, but am still happy we even got one). I loved the game so much it prompted me to watch the phenomenal Twin Peaks which has become my favorite piece of media ever. Needless to say, try it. It truly is one of those things you either love or hate, but honestly, I have introduced many people to this game, friends, coworkers, and surprisingly they shared the same feelings I did and also went on to watch Twin Peaks. Very thankful for this game.
