I spent waaaay too much time trying to beat this I even lowered my level to easy & still got my ass wiped in the last seconds of each match. I found another tip for those of you struggling, it sounds goofy but if you go into the block mode L1 for PS4 & drift you'll hug the corners a lot tighter but even with all of these tips online I still have yet to beat the last two levels. I just found out about the L1 tip in another forum which i'll have to adjust to but the drift boost isn't always consistent. I'm not saying the L1 tip is either but L1 isn't putting on the brakes where drifting is slowing you down even if you are using boost. Try it out, if it works for you great if not stick with what works. Good tips in this video

When I corner I start turning in then hold the drift button, when im half way round the corner I let go of RT and repress it while still holding the drift button. This kinda whips your chariot round the corner. People behind get stuck/bump behind you and people on outside slow down on the outside lane. This is literally how I win every race.

When you are about to boost then turn hug the walls and when you are about to drift, make sure that the only thing between the corner and the track is you chariot. If you manage to do that you let chariot will jam all the other ones and they can’t get in front of you, giving you plenty of time to boost forward.

Just got this game for 30 bucks and made it to this mini game it seemed really hard(playing on highest diff btw) thought it was impossible till i found this vid. Thought it was bas to win of boost to win and I was wrong on both. All the tips given helped got elite races done. Thank you
I'd like to add that if you are in 1st you can block your opponents from passing you while recharging boost. I like to get a full boost meter and then about 30 or 40% down the straight is when you hit the nos so that it runs out right before the turn. If you are side by side with someone at the turn or they are right behind you they will probably pass you bc even if you hit a perfect turn where the horses head clips into the wall but doesnt slow you down they will still somehow pass you. That is why saving the boost for the last half of the straight is better since they won't be close enough to pass.
Highly disagree with you, bashing an opponent that beat you in a previous race almost guarantees you'll win overall, also suggesting to only dash when someone is behind you is absolute BS, dash every time you have an inch of stamina, which requires timing of course but I gurantee with proper stamina management and cornering you will win 1st on elite
Not only is this side activity horribly made, in that it defies all logic, but it is also the by far most boring side activity i have ever seen in any game. The controls are disgusting, the "ramming-system" doesn't properly work, apart from ramming, there's no fighting involved, no upgrades to the chariots, like blades on the axes. You're directly behind an enemy, which should speed you up and on top of that on full boost, but some random guy overtakes you, with no one giving him wake, like you're standing still. The Arena is awesome. Only wish there was a mode, where you can pick your own weapon, but this chariot horseshit... the one responsible for this, should be forced to play this, for the rest of his/her life while only being allowed to eat horseshit and the only way out is being trampeled to death by pink ponies.
Just got done with them really not that hard. It's all about the corners. To pass someone go inside on the corner and drift into them. Always use the inside lane. To corner find your sweet spot and hit the joystick and the drift at the same time. Don't hold drift too long, if you need to turn more just tap the drift to finish the turn. Use the boost to get some distance before turning.

My history teacher brought up this video and explained that in a game called assassins creed origins they had hippodromes and said it’s quite accurate to how they would’ve looked
No you DEFINITELY want to bash your opponent. It slows them significantly. Just don't try bashing if the enemy chariot isn't highlighted otherwise you'll slow and can lose control of the chariot. His method might've worked out for him, don't get me wrong.
Go to easy strat: drift the corners as close to the wall as you can, use your speed boosts in the long stretches. Watch the enemies with r3 and go in front of them. If one is coming up your side try to go for a ram when drifting.
I got the achievement on bashing/knock off on my first attempt. In my first race I knocked off three riders. I played on Xbox One. Couldn't understand how only 10% of Xbox One users got that. I'm not that good of a player when it comes to things like this. Anyway, I came here to see about time trials; and they're meaningless, so thanks.

I've literally done every single thing in the entire game and gotten every achievement, but I can't do this damn hippodrome at all

Also, at the start of the race, right when it says "GO," hold down the gas and boost button for a few seconds of free boost.
