- I ride from Debre Marqos to Dejen, and then, across the gigantic Blue Nile gorge, to Gohatsion. In Dejen, I have a not so appetizing meal, then I find a lovely hotel, before going to see the view over the gorge of the Blue Nile. On the next day, I have a great breakfast in Dejen, and then I finally head to the great adventure of crossing the gorge of the Blue Nile.
The descent is very hard, and the climb is much much harder than what I ever imagined, and unexpectedly, no because of the cycling...

A lot of respect to the guy that saved you from the guy with the stone!
Thought the same thing myself 🙏🏻
Someone who doesn’t want their country to look like shit idk why people act like this even in tough positions 😢
29:57 So glad that guy stepped in to help out. Extremely dangerous situation.
Yeah that dude were mentally ill
The guy was asking money politely at first ... All of a sudden he changed .
@@michaelyemariamlij2633 yea, not normal
he never saw something like that. The more south he goes, the more challenges he faces...
@Baller474 He faced same thing in Egypt. I don’t think Egypt is in south of Ethiopia
Ur passion for traveling and ur respect for local is just amazing ❤
urmazing!!!
One of my favorite people in the continent. Love from South Africa.
Love from Uganda... Watching and following from Kampala Uganda East Africa
Lesson from this video: "When you anticipate something, you're always afraid of it, but as soon as you're in the action, the fear is gone" - Kino Yves
It becomes part of your life
Kenya has one of the best road network coverage in east Africa
Love you from Eth
Very correct 💯.. Watching and following from Kampala Uganda East Africa
and no electric
No best road in the east Africa is Rwanda cz am rolly driver
Kenya is the capital city of Africa ......if you know you know
Hi there! As a fellow Ethiopian, it's so refreshing to see someone explore our beautiful country with such enthusiasm. I recently discovered your channel and your videos have really brightened my week! It's heartening to see that your passion for travel hasn't dampened despite the challenges you faced especially given the conflicts in the Amhara region. I'm so relieved to see that you're safe and back on the road again. Thank you, keep up the great work!
Well said Geez.
be safe
Maybe I have been in Germany too long, but he is not as polite as when I visit other countries! Most of the time he seems polite and i dont see everything... but i have to say it
No, it's very scary 😮😮
@@Hiesham. America is way scarier! Everyone have a gun and is uneducated
Just met a guy from Ethiopia today working in the gas station here in the US...We talked about you, his country and he was excited about subscribing to your channel.
I was happy to share because I understand the need to connect and see things through your perspective.
Man im always Happy when you Upload a new Video love it. Greetings from Germany Munich.
Same here 🇬🇧
I am also br from 🇪🇷
What surprises me ... your determination, awareness and charm all through some of the challenges on the planet. Weldone!
I bow down to you, I think you are among the rare human being who can do this. Even by just looking at you im tired lol and also scare for you. Anyway you are brave and have incredible stamina. Hats off...its a delight to watch you....really.
Estagfirullah
You bow to G-D not man this is the problem with black people.
@alex soto The funny thing is that even in developped countries you will get such issues. May be not throwing rocks but do not forget that their is shooting in schools. The nature of the threat is different, during the recent Euro cup, people were fighting....for what....for a game. So everywhere there are stupid and nice people.
Love how you travel all over on this bike without giving a fuc# what people think of you. Living life to the full. Respect
I have never ever seen a video of yours and by magic came across it and love your positive vibes in a rather dangerous place and bicycling to boot and no bad energy footprint, WOW!!!
The guy with stone at the gorge was not normal, he is sick and mad.
Yup, he was probably mentally ill
Yes, looks like!
He was lucky but that guy prevented him otherwise he would have hit him
It wasn't only the guy but most of the kids who'd stone visitors with no reasons. Could it be that some of them are sick and mad at GOD 🤔 The Baboons seemed to be more welcoming and understanding that he was just riding his bike and was a non threatening to anyone.
Yes indeed, and VERY dangerous !
What a wild ride, glad things went right in the end. Beautiful landscapes and peoples
Wow Yves, always a pleasure to follow your trip. You are just simply genuine insane! looking forward for what is coming next!
I love living vicariously through channels like this, I wish I could do the same. Maybe someday when my kids are grown and self-sufficient! Vive la liberté!
You seem like a chill guy. I'm sorry you had to endure some idiots from my country.
Sewyow gin beshtenga new ebd kalhone endeza ayadergim
at least he got to see some beauty 🙂
Thank you for sharing your bold & amazing adventures! Stay safe & keep having fun!!
Omg I am speechless. How the tourists explain about Ethiopia and when they reach their destination they are exited, overwhelmed , happy to see the beautiful ethiopia. We should all feel that way. I am from Ethiopia and embrace I don’t know about my own country. Well I live out of Ethiopia so that say it. Any way I wish I can travel with you join the journey. It would be amazing. Am so excited to travel around next time when I visit my beloved country. Big respect brother. Good job and good luck. Ethiopia is not safe with current situation. ❤️
Good that man stood in front of the guy with the rock
Kudos to Him stopping the Stone Road pirate💯
- So you could escape❤️💪🏿
You are amazing with your own exploration, you are not judging but enjoying and having the good moments with these amazing welcoming and innocent people..
Thank you Sir 😊
That's good someone came and restrained him. Mental health and homelessness is something that is unfortunately a problem in much of the world.
That’s how in Ethiopia most of the time. people intervene to stop a fight. Specially if they’re kids, women, elderly people or foreigners.
Your adventures Kino have been a great pleasure to watch ❤ but oh my I worry for your safety 🇬🇧 😮 All best wishes 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Admiration for your determination and uplifting mood in even the hardest of times ; you are truly an inspiration. Keep on keeping on mon frere...
This guy is super sociable with a lot of respect n humility!
thank you for showing the world beauty of nature, people And culture. becarful too. very few people do this kind of adventure and you are the one .
Yves man, someone needs to make your journey into a movie or TV series, loving your videos!
I happy to see you getting safely out of all those things.
What do you mean those things their good people
Ohhh
The one with a stone, made me mad. I would mess him up..
He looks mentally unstable. Anyway it’s good to see the helpers and give recognition than pointing out the trouble makers. Thanks to the kind brave guy that protected him from getting hurt
Your a brave man. Thanks for bringing us along love your adventures.
His balls are the size of Texas!
I'd rather take a motorbike through exotic and adventerous places like this.
Really salute this guy for his courage, determination and stamina!
This guy is not wise at all. Has he ever thought about coming across wild animals like the elephants? Most parts of Africa especially southern and central is covered with wildlife. Fingers crossed for him, it’s too risky
Youre scared, you fight or flee. Thanks for carrying on even though you had many obstacles. Amazing views, they are spectacular. .
So glad I came across this channel. What an adventure you’re on.
We respect and love our guests .thank you so much I like your video really
What an adventure!
The kitchens are so dirty, no wander you are sick. Stay safe outthere
I love how you try to communicate with them folks 😂 so friendly ❤
I love how you try to communicate with them folks❤so friendly
Wow, really inspiring. Good luck on your adventures! And stay safe
What an amazing episode. Maybe the best one yet? I am fascinated by your channel. Be safe!
You are truly a brave soul to go through the rugged highlands of Ethiopia on a bike. I watched your video from the comfort of my house, and yet I felt every aspect of your adventure! You are exceptional@!!!!!!
Stupid is more like it !
I m 56 now and like touring countries and I have been to 12 countries so far and just happened to see your video; and I was surprised watching you going through Sudan deserts and Ethiopia high lands with Your E-Bike!
I am inspired by you and i am sure you will inspire a lot of young generation to visit there country and region with little expenses!
Keep up with your adventures and advice you to talk to local authorities about security and situation of each places you go !
Hopefully one day I will see on your videos touring my beautiful country Eritrea!
The guy at the coffee shop asked you if you are a spy😂, and she said he is a peace traveler ❤
This is absolutely brilliant stuff! Without sounding too arrogant, I am not sure you fully understand what you have accomplished with this journey! Beyond the physical, I mean. I watched expecting someone will talk you out of the "madness" of crossing the abay gorge with a slow bike at this time in Ethiopian history. Any Ethiopian family would say their kid had gone mad. But there was one guy in your previous video who escorted you to breakfast who gave a cautionary look. Glad you did it 🙌
Ive been watching your videos for about a year now.. recently you stopped showing up in my feed! I was worried something happened. Im happy you are still safe on your adventures. Thank you for taking us along with you.
Selm Kino. I stumbled across your video by accident, and I never commented anything on RUclips. But i couldn't help it but pick up my phone and leave you a comment. I am a fellow Ethiopian currently living in Dubai. I was born Nazareth studied in Bahir Dar. I frankly knew very well the road you ride with with tricycle, and you took me back every step of the way. I, Benji, watch your entire video on Sunday. You are such brave soul to ride this road alone regardless of all the false news in all the main streem media. Much love. God bless you. God bless Ethiopia🎉
I was having a bad day, but you sir you changed everything ❤
We follow your journey on Google maps. Amazing and challenging country you are showing us. You are a man of steel. Bravo and good luck for the next leg of your trip.
I was happy that you were in Egypt, our honor and enlightenment in Egypt 🇪🇬🤝🇫🇷
Have a nice trip Mr Yves. Have a good time in your next place.
I lived in Ethiopia in my young days and I had to go through all this crazy "Ferengy hunt" by Ethiopian kids.
I never understood why 3-years old kids go nuts when they see a "Ferengy" walking their village streets.
when you live in a country that more then half the popultion lives in rural areas its very strange to see a white skin man that not on TV.
This guy’s living it! Good for him.
Epic adventure, lovely guy. Thanks
First of all i will appreciat for you're commitment vist ethiopia with a bicycle. The problems happens do you to communication gap, it's not adventure it's suddenly happen i think the guy is mad and also the child are not thief they says give us pen it's common because they don't access to buy pen, pencil and other stationary they live in a village. actually the people has Receptionist for all human being i hope one day u visit again with a better way communication have a nice journey.
You are very social that is why your journey is so nice.
True, I never thought that keeping to yourself all the times probably draws more suspicious attention. Plus the nice people are probably more willing to step in when the bad people try and mess with you.
What beutiful people, beutiful country. I pray for an end to the troubles. All people should be safe and not live in fear . Bless you and your journey
Your adventures looks fun and dangerous at the same time! I salute your courage and enthusiasm
Wonderful episode. Yves you need to be more careful. This country is at troubling time, please be more cautious. Also, check in with a doctor, your health is everything!
Some area are very dangerous this country but it seems peace full
Sir you are a talented and brave man, wish you the best. May the force be with you.
Yves is a good person. I really like the way he deals with all humans. Bravo mon frère.
Am Ethiopian but I don't agree you travel alone, i feel your risking your life.
He’s naive
Oh men the views in Ethiopia are amazing 🤩
great videos keep doing what you doing . looking forward to ur southern ethiopia adventure
I admire ur inspiration to visit and show for the world
Bro deserve an award
@20:19 The woman in a blue dress is striking!
Yes she was!
Thanks Yves for this journey stay safe man
Ив,спасибо большое за видео!Будьте здоровы!
I have spent a few years in Ethiopia and the Special Full you had for breakfast looked wonderful!!
You are nicely facing the typical Ethiopian kids harassment .Salute to your passion , diligence and calmness .Show must go on
You’re literally living my dreams! Omg love it !
You have a good smile on your face all the time, and a positive attitude,,very interesting and educational,,love your site…
Hey bro, I appreciate your journey and you showing people a side of the world they dont really get to see. You were just in my country Sudan not long ago and I enjoyed those Vlogs. Sadly, since then the whole country broke out into war between the Sudanese Army & the Rapid Support Forces and they are fighting everywhere including in the capital city and causing mass casualties and destruction without regard for civilians. Hundreds have died already and thousands more are injured. I know the chance you read this is not that big but in the chance that you do, I wanted to say am glad you made it out before things got this bad. Pray for the people of Sudan 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
May God be with you and your ppl
How is the situation in sudan now?
Kino please stay safe. Maybe it's not safe to visit these small towns if they were in war currently. Take care of yourself ❤️
But Ethiopian's aren't warer
u idiot french , when the time comes we africans revenge on france by ......
Nah Ethiopian people are peace loving people there was war in tigray region
@@sollykasa627now there is war in Amhara there is no peace in Ethiopia
Wow!
Great film of your journey. Bloody hell! Very scary moments for you.
Your smile and positivity is inspiring.😊
I love an adventure. A bit of danger too. Notvsure I could do what you're doing. Epic!
Thanks very much.
Respect to the guy who intervened.
Like they say, "No pain, no gain." Keep up the beautiful struggle!!!

So glad you are now away from Khartoum but it looks like you have experienced unrest in Ethiopia. I hope it was a mild ruckus. Better health to you and may your passage to South Africa be smooth sailing.... pedalling.
😂😂😂
I like this adventure, you strong man and always take care of your health for the next adventure
Amazing ! Bro doing a great journey wow 🇪🇹🇪🇹
I made geological field mapping in the area between dejen and gohansion. (Abay Basin)
That was amazing experience for me to work there.

You're a very strong French 💪. Keep it up Sir. Am Daniel from Ethiopia 🇪🇹
coucou Yves 😊
en voyant l image de présentation de cette vidéo, j étais déjà en état de stress 😂
Courage à toi pour continuer ce voyage étonnant ❤
Salut Yves, quelle aventure! Respect! J'aurais voulu faire partie du voyage, même avec les dangers que tu as côtoyé/ que tu côtoies. Just make sure you return in one piece, but I see you are careful. Keep the spirit, don't be too hard on those children. I think it's a lot of curiosity. You don't want your stuff robbed and that's also understandable.
Salut Yves. I’m glad you made it safely past the gorge. I’m sorry the guy with the stone was causing trouble. I’d recommend transporting your bike across Oromia instead of riding. The region is highly unstable right now. I know you will miss some good views but there are plenty more in the southern part of the country, trust me! Anyways, I don’t want to discourage you, I just wanted to let you know. Bon chance!
Stay safe my friend.....hellooooo from Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🙋♂️
Oh man, I fell in love with you from these videos without actually seeing you. Salam to you from Egypt
J'ai été choqué par l'agressivité des gens sur la route. Les normes d'assainissement et d'hygiène sont préoccupantes. Tu as l'air d'avoir maigri, prends soin de toi. Prières pour vous. X Jeanne
