The people you saw with lots of horses were not gathered for a religious ceremony they were on saying goodbye to the person who died. It was a funeral ceremony. That was why some of them were saying don't take pictures.
I love your videos keep it up.

Hey Yves, we love your videos. By the way, the gathering you saw with the horses and Ethiopian flag was not a festival but funeral. That is why they were telling you not to record.
Also, at the first hotel you visited (on your way from Dembecha to Debre Markos), there was a misunderstanding between you and the hotel waitresses when they said ‘alqowal’ in Amharic. You thought they were saying ‘alcohol’ but they were saying ‘alqowal’ which means ‘it is finished’ or we are out of rooms 😀😀. I can’t wait for the coming videos, on your way yo Dejen and then Addis. Keep up the good work. Stay blessed and safe bruh !!!!

oh man, this makes the video even funnier. I could not stop laughing when he was at the hotel. Now I imagine the women when he was saying: yes, yes, alcohol (very likely they thought he said/meant "alqowal"), but I want a room. Funniest video so far in this channel xd. His approaching the gathering with horses was funny too, crossing the fields and frightening the horses. And now it turns out people had a reason to be super serious, I am sorry for the death.

@@gavb9816 And why do you think so? Unlike europeans farmers with their big expensive/effective infrastructure.. The soil in ethiopia is rich and you can grow so much we just need to give farmers better conditions and then you will have never ending cycle of fruits and vegetables.. And yes the famine was on ethiopias east side with its deserts. But yeah ethiopia weather+water reservers its really a blessed country.

Hotel means anything in Ethiopia, particularly in the area you are in. Next time, if you wish to ask for a room, ask them for AL-GA ( the second syllable, GA, sounds the same as GA in Garage. Hence you may ask 'alga alle?' Means '' is there a room?'' Alga literally means bed.

China...china....haaaa. Yves, while you are in Ethiopa, the birthplace of Coffee, I hope you can find more special coffee spots. Perhaps, a special plantation. The land and climate of Ethiopa makes me think about this place is like the "colorado" of Africa. I am in the US and certain states have a very unique geography and climate.
BTW, you have no idea the last impressions that you are leaving on the youth of Ethiopa. The ones who have witnessed the strange french/china man rolling across the road without a horse or an engine making smoke. They may become future electrical engineers because they saw your machine and friendly smile. Keep on.
