Normally I wouldn't comment on this since it's so barely connected to the main subject matter, but based on what I've seen, the whole "Tab Clear was meant to kill the clear soda trend and Crystal Pepsi" seems to basically be spin-doctoring by Sergio Zyman, Coke's chief marketing officer who was also the one behind the disasters that were New Coke and Fruitopia in the US. Food Theory did a deep analysis of his claims about Tab Clear and based on what was presented, I do think this was just Zyman playing spin-doctor to avoid looking like a fool who caused three disasters for the company.
I really love Grandpa Geoege speach to charlie in this movie, "only a nitwit would exchange the ticket for something as common as money", there are just thing that are worth more than all the money in the world. for all the flaws of this version of the story, there is still a lot of good.
I still both hate and love the visuals of this movie. They 'ground' the outside world so much that they remove most of the color and life from it in order to make the factory itself stand out all the more, but it results in this first part being visually the blandest part of the movie, resulting in a down tone even in those scenes where it's not supposed to be.
I often suspected the other kids represented the 7 deadly sins but there's only 4 of them. Which is unfortunate because the 4 of them were spot on for Gluttony, Greed, Pride, and Wrath. But then, the more I thought about it other characters sort of fill the remaining 3, Grandpa Joe is Sloth, Charlie is Envy, and really I can't think of anyone who represents Lust.
I'll always remember Noah Taylor from the dark comedy, He Died With A Felafel on His Hand, where he plays a man seemingly struggling with depression whom the world constantly ****s on, and is trying to stay sane in a sea of madness.
Just occurred to me how lucky it is that Charlie lives in the same city as the factory, otherwise he could never have afforded to claim his prize.

All this talk of Beria makes me want to see you cover Death of Stalin someday.
Grandpa no, that money's for your vape!
Holy crap, Soda Popinski more realistic than I realized! He was drinking that clear coke the general had!
Wasn't expecting to learn Charlie's father was an infamous German landscape painter once (twice)!
The laugh I got from that "Call of Duty: STFU" line has all but confirmed I'm a Grandpa George in the making.
Did you lose a bet or something? At best, Willy Wonka is tangentially related to sci-fi.
"WHITE COKE"? I don't think that's a soft drink. Just ask Johnny Depp.

kids in America sneak vodka in cans of Pepsi, Generals in Russia sneak Pepsi in bottles of vodka.
I really thought that White Coke section was going to go in a very different direction......

RUclips apparently decided that I might want to see the background and reflections, but not the actual review.

The older I get, the more I relate to Grampa George.
