This will be 35 years old in a week's time from now by date-how time flies! It is also the day after my birthday. So nice to see though for sure of course-thank you too!
The rhythms, melody cadences and conceptual input it,is pretty cool. I used to listen to this as a kid. When I was well,it wasn't about wants,it was about life. The challenge. Music like this,I grew up liking it.
@@dvidclappertonA pity it only got played early mornings on weekdays. It deserved a place on the BBC2 rota, which was still transmitting some daytime intervals at the time.
@@ianmcclavinyes that is right until about 1989 or was it 1990 of course. I know you are in the test card circle as I am too and all this is so interesting somehow. Nice music and I wish it was still on too as I am sure we all do too.
This as a replacement tape following succeed tape called Positron had ran in 1985. When it`s time to replacement tape following succeed tape called One Of The Crowd from November 1987 to May 1991 and from May 1991 the tape called Nature Trail.
What is it with this music that it makes you wish for the old times when your young I love it bit gutting though thinking about all the people you have lost from being a kid so chilled though bring back ceefax
That's sad: todays peoples can't remember when television channels are not live in full 0-24 hours and broadcasts testcard or Ceefax with good music! ☹ Those are was good times!
yes. It was a time when the announcer would essentially be saying (in received pronunciation), "we're taking a break for a few hours. it's chill out time. here's some cool early electronic graphics, a picture of a little girl and her weird doll, some music we recorded…so just relax….. we'll be back soon"
There was a time when Test Card F on BBC1 was accompanied by a non sentient countdown timer prior to Ceefax coming on screen. I believe one of the tracks on this tape was first used in 1966.
This your first time of late 80s between towards late 1986 and towards end of 1989 Ceefax AM footage and by early 1990 becomes Pages Of Ceefax minus AM to accompany Test Card F cuts to 5 minutes of music before Ceefax took over at 6.00am until 6.25am for 25 minutes before BBC1 start-up programmes begins at 6.25 with Breakfast News, good see watching Ceefax AM from the late 80s. More late 80s Ceefax AM music to remembered One Of A Crowd tape was playing between November 1987 until May 1991. Please watch the foootage the next one is BBC1 Ceefax AM - Fri 22 Jan 1988 - March Of The War I remembered this also its a classical tape which was played between 29th December 1987 until 28th October 1990. Many Thanks for watching this footage and I do enjoy this.
A few interesting points about this clip (though many will undoubtedly question the use of the word "interesting" here): (a) my recollections of 80s Ceefax AM were that the pulse/bars were replaced at 5.45am by TCF; I thought the 5.52am transition was discontinued quite a bit before 1988; (b) the opening page at 6am was generated live on page 198 and wasn't a slide - a practice which I thought had ceased quite a few years prior to this; (c) the Edgar Kennedy follows shortly page was not broadcast live on page 198 (you can tell by the vision cut, rather than usual page scroll) - though curiously, the cat's tongue is flashing, which suggests this page was played off tape. Great to see an entire pre-start-up sequence of pulse signal, TCF and Ceefax AM from this era. And one of the best Ceefax music tapes of the 80s period here too.
Yes indeed, up until December 1992 BBC1 would open up this way; but from January 1993 onwards they did a full 7-day start at 6.00am as far as I know; whereas before that Breakfast Time/News was on air (from January 1983 onwards) on weekdays only; whilst at weekends it was either the Test Card or the Open University as it had been on weekdays also before all that. Thank you anyway!!
@@brucedanton3669 Preferred Ceefax AM to Business Breakfast, and of course Pages from Ceefax with music after Breakfast Time proper. All programmes a really dull schedule. Really dreadful programmes during the daytime ever since the BBC ditched daytime Pages from Ceefax and music.
OMG I have not seen Ceefax am before that is so cool I can get that on the list and guess what I got a video converter which is that I can watch when am in bed and yes I got up two new dvds of new Ceefax I made last night.

This makes me very happy! Thank you!
19:37 Track 8 on this tape makes me want to go to an airport on a sunny day and watch the planes take off and land all day...

Ceefax AM was good for some pepole I often seen it myself dispite being 3 years old at the timre
19:37 is such a wonderful, laid back track on one of the best ever Ceefax tapes. Thanks, dude.
I love that music
Such a huge shame that daytime Pages from Ceefax was no longer being broadcast on BBC1.

Quite a fair of this sounds a bit like Frank Chacksfield Orchestra.

Ceefax AM - A connect with Braakfast Time i think. Probably why it was branded Ceefax AM.
Almost complete, but nevertheless, well done! I like it!
A bit like Villa Vista and Victorian Drawing Room.
Would anyone know the name of the track starting 8:20 ? Thanks in advance!
Would have been aged 6 when this played 30 years ago!! 😁👍🇬🇧
8:20 A shaking music~
26:26 Love it!!!

Who was Edgar Kennedy?
Can you upload another BBC Ceefax AM in BBC1 (Wednesday July 13, 1983) ?
Whats the title of the music at 27:25?
8:03
Oxford Utd 2 - 0 Man Utd, lol
Everton 2 - 0 Manchester City lol
Imagine being a Man U or Man City fan looking at those results...this track 19:37 would sure take away the stress LOL😂.
26:40
I remember this CRAP being on in the mornings.
Not for long though surely.
Better than the many awful programmes filling up the entire schedule today.
