The oldest complete piece surviving intact. There are much older fragments that exist.

It was good to hear the voices together. I have heard this lovely and ancient song performed many times now by various artists, including Nektaria Karantzi. I have even started singing it to myself!

"Τέλος" here should translate to fee, as in we all have to pay our debt to Time and that is our death, our end (our τέλος).
For further reading and relevant to Seikilos' epitaph I would highly recommend Christopher King's amazing book "Lament for Epirus".

I will try to transalte the inrto and signature around the song "word for word" based on the description shown above, because this epitaph is introduced by the stone, the cold tomb of Seikilos wife, a love we all understand and can associate with.
An Icon/Image or stone I am. Placed by Seikilos here as a memory immortal, a sign long-lasting...
    Seikilos (to) Euterpi.

A Modern Lyric To This Timeless Music -------------------
    IN A WORLD OF LIES
    SOME MAY FORGET
    THE WORD OF GOD
    SPEAKS TRUTH STILL YET
    SUN MOON THE STARS
    ALL NATURE PROCLAIMS
    THE WORD OF GOD
    FOREVER REMAINS
    THE WORD OF GOD
    FOREVER SHALL BE
    ETERNAL TRUTH UNIVERSALLY
    IN A WORD OF LIES
    SOME MAY FORGET
    THE WORD OF GOD
    SPEAKS TRUTH STILL YET
    THOUGH EVILS LIES
    TYRANTS SUSTAIN
    SPREADING HATE WAR HUNGER PAIN
    THEY LIVE TO DIE
    IT'S ALWAYS THE SAME
    THEIR CRIMES THEIR LIES
    GOD WON'T FORGET
    IN A WORLD OF LIES
    SOME MAY FORGET
    THE WORD OF GOD
    SPEAKS TRUTH STILL YET
    SUN MOON THE STARS
    ALL NATURE PROCLAIMS
    THE WORD OF GOD
    FOREVER REMAINS

Pericles Vasileiou because in order to sing a song you have to do it in the sound of the original language (or an approximation to it) and modern Greek is quite different in sounding than the (classical for sure) Ancient ancestor. For example, the meter of these lyrics is based on a distinction between long and short vowels and thus syllables, and the modern pronunciation does not reveal the real rhythm behind the speech, as the scientifically reconstructed would, or even the Erasmian also. And we know for sure that verse meter did play a role in composition back then.

@@sot11cat The epitaph of Seikilos was in koine greek and the pronunciation was not as far off from modern Greek as earlier stages of Greek e.g. Attic and Homeric.

The pronounciation is very close to koine. This is what Greek have been sounding for 1500 years. Get used to it
