Christ! This sounded amazing on my PHONE. I can’t imagine what it sounds like in the room.
“And I Love Her” by The Beatles sounded so damn good on that 12 string.
Agreed. Mr. Lemmo did a FINE job on that.
That had to be one on the best flat top Friday’s ever
i could listen to lemmo play that thing for hours
Best guitar demo-er out there. Incredible playing, excellent note choices, doesn't overplay and as always extremely humble.
Wow! You can certainly hear all the hard work that was put in to make this instrument. Every note clear as a bell. Great job Lemmo! Stratosphere is a killer tune 👍👏
Now that's a RARE guitar. One of the best featured on Flat Top Fridays ever!
I have to admit that is the best sounding 12 string I have heard in my life. Just amazing , and Michael did an awesome job of show casing it.
That guitar sounds absolutely sublime.
Once saw Colin Hay live at Town Hall NYC. While switching to an acoustic 12 he said, “I remember we used to get high and then try to tune these... it took hours.”
That fluted nut is a thing of beauty on its own. I love such attention to detail.
Carlos, such an inspiration.. Glad you guys featured this incredible guitar art.
That sounds so good. Thanks for jamming Mike.
I'll never be able to afford of one of these beauty's but , a man can dream ! Thanks Lemmo and Jen !
That sounded as awesome as I hoped. Sweet sweet guitar
Thank you, all went well. Norm’s a super great person and so are the folks that buy from him and watch GOTD!
great interpretation of "And I Love Her" on a beautiful guitar. Bravo!
I was in town from Colorado working in Pasadena and stopped in at Norn's a few weeks ago and played this exact guitar. Open D and Open G Leo Kottke slide stuff. It is everything Norm describes and more. I am more of an old Stella 12 string player tuned down 3 or 4 half steps, but this guitar was really amazing.
I looked around for a while and didn't see any 12 strings that caught my eye; then I asked one of the guys if they had any interesting 12 strings in the back, and out comes this beauty. The only other thing I would say about this guitar is that the video doesn't capture the true beauty of the sunburst finish. And of course as nice as it sounds in this video, hearing it in person is on a whole different level of appreciating the full sound of one of the highest quality 12 strings around.
A studio quality acoustic 12 string is truly a rare thing. Beautiful guitar, well played.
I had a sunburst Guild F412 that I bought from Norm's friend and bandmate, Dan Duehren , which looked, played, and sounded
great. A few years later I was at Dan's place ,not looking for a 12 string, when he pulled out a Don Musser 12 string with acacia back and sides. It just blew me away. I
later sold the great Guild back to Dan, as the Musser was unbelievable , and I didn't need 2 guitars with 24 strings. I still have and love that Musser 20 + years later. Thanks Don, Dan, and Norm.
Like Norm said, Bob Dylan and Neil Young play Musser guitars , and Eddy Van Halen did too. I know why..
Wow! Just...wow!
Could sit and listen to Michael play that for hours. Beautiful craftsmanship and beautiful fret board wizardry.
Thanks for the acoustic journey that took me where I needed to be today as I am anxious about my wife’s upcoming surgery on her back. Life’s better at Norm’s!
Mark Martin best wishes to you!
Hope it went well
This 12, is amazing. It looks different, sounds fabulous, sooo full !
Beautiful sounding stellar playing lemmo one of the best
12s I've ever heard
That guitar is a work of art and sounds amazing.
12's have such a cool sound , wish I could play mine but I have small hands and bad arthritis so I can't quite handle one , could listen to one all day tho , and this one is gorgeous , check the grain on that rosewood , stunning , and what a great sound , they always remind me of church bells , just ringing and chiming , fantastic , and I love her sounded especially good , thanks guys.
The beatles song ( And i love her ) just reaches the soul...
Beautiful guitar with an equally beautiful sound 🎶
Always better than the last one. Smiling seems to be contagious around you. Music Man
Yeah that's the ONE ; Hi Michael and Jen and Norman 🙋🏻♂️
A piece of art for an artist, awesome sound from a master of his trade!
My dream is have a guitar acoust of Normans! Thanks for share !!! from Brazil
Dios santo...que preciosa guitara! Y en las manos del senor lemmo
I play a sunburst Guild F-412 12 string that sounds like a choir of angels singing, but it's a beast to play (the guitar's so big and I'm so small). I'd love to have one of those Don Musser 12 strings because it looks a little more manageable than my Guild and it sounds beautiful. Excellent job demoing the guitar, Michael!
That looked and sounded gorgeous!
Flat top Friday was over the top today!!! Much better instrument than a cookie cutter Martin or Taylor.
Don Szymanski agreed, if they truly wanted to feature “rare guitars” they should highlight beautiful work done by small luthiers or very limited production more often... at least on Flat Top Friday. I’m hoping they’ll pull out an original 1930’s D’Angelico someday (not quite a flat top, but a masterpiece can break the rules). Saw a New Yorker in a museum, they had to keep it under glass, otherwise everyone would try to play it.
Heck if you can find one of only16 flat tops his apprentice D’Aqusito built in his career (he came up with an oval sound hole), Norm might get jealous!
@@joermnyc D'Angelico or Stromberg could be great!
WOW!!! Big sound projection and it sounds like 2 guitars. Always love a 10:02 Beatle tune- And I love her. Loved your song 8:04 Stratosphere too.
Sixth time I watch this video in two days
Does anyone know what the first song he played was? I sounded so familiar but I cant put my finger on it.
It sounds so powerfully beautiful !!!!
Stratosphere! Great song! I listen to it often
Excellent playing and what a beautiful guitar! What was the name of the first song you played? ♥️♥️👍🏻👍🏻😎😎
proper rare guitar right there. outstanding episode!
Nice intro by Norm and it sounded good.
ha, reminds me of a Christmas present via finish and pg....
Audition, I don't know but back in '67 when I was 10. No one knew how to play.
all of a sudden its given away to the wife of a 'nam vet..
what a life.
Honestly one of the best sounding guitars I've ever heard, and I tend to think boutique guitars are a load of wank lmao
Art nouveau headstock. Beautiful....and it sounded sweet, especially those high strings.
2 years later and I still come back here to listen to “and I love her” by the beatles.
Beautiful guitar and a perfect match for Lemmo 😊
Thanks for giving us the name of that awesome original
What was the first song that you played?
I neeeeeeeeed to know too!
@@herikdumba ahhhhhhhhhhh
I think it's called through the night and it's by lemmo, search up Michael Lemmos first ever video at norms rare guitars he plays it there, I might be wrong though i can't tell if its the same song
Speechless!
Love a nice 12-string even though I’m a bassist. Which reminds me, if a good 8-string bass happens to pass through the shop on a Thursday, I’d jump on that!
whats the song at 5:52?
Yeah it sounds fantastic. The case was amazing too.
I wonder why more luthiers do not make compensated bridges and nuts. It is certainly a well known problem and while it would increase production costs it would seem to be a small investment that would provide a tremendous improvement. Perhaps it would require a lot of time consuming neck adjusting that prevents it.
so beautiful
Lovely job as always Lemmo! Beautiful guitar too! However! Gotta do a Maton!
✌️... someday,,, your consistency has to pay off !!!!
@@nickbruni8041 I believe!
Beautiful and great sounding instrument. 👍
So nice... sounds so good.
I'm bettin' that doesn't hang around Norman's for long...
I've owned literally dozens of 12 strings, but NEVER one that held tune & W/such perfect intonation...I'd buy it if I could afford it....
@@ziggylayneable Aye, there's the rub...

@ $8000 IT MIGHT...
CARLOS GUITARLOS 90042
GuitarlosCarlos is it $8,000?
Not a bad deal. You know a guitar like that from any big guitar company would cost $12,000-$20,000. Hand made, super high end woods, specialized nut and bridge, etc
Lemmos a genius
every day I hope that mike will soon get a record deal! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow it’s surely a very beautiful sounding 12 I’ve heard yet so even n mellow . I wonder if my 401k will have enough 😂 👍🏻👍🏻😍🎸🎸🎸
Incredible tone
Beautiful instrument.
That was beautiful Mr. Green Fingernails
wow, what a sound
Guitar sounds beautiful.
Arigatō, soshite kami no heiwa ga anata to tomoni aru.
What is the first tuning that you are using?
Interesting way to play "And I Love Her".
Can I like it again and again?
The fully compensated saddle is almost a unique feature that all 12 strings should have. I know only one other guitar that has this and I own it! He should have made a demonstration using a capo.
Nice guitar. I see it's still up on Norm's website for $8500.00 + $50.00 for shipping. Not as outrageous a price as I expected. Perhaps someday. ;)
Lemmo, that’s a great song man! Stratosphere you say?
Pretty cool
Sounded great!
Can we find the tabs of Stratosphere? This song is fantastic
Outstanding
Good for him, a Beatles classic sounding unique
Oh wow.....
I miss Jen's little innuendo giggles.
When he said compensated nut that would have been perfect.

David Gilmour from Pink Floyd would love that 12s.
What’s the name of the second song?
So Nice!!!! Sold but cant Afford
Shouldn't you use a 12 string Stratocaster for 'Stratosphere?' Just a little joke there,,,,,,,,as far as the nails go, try clear with silver glitter. Really looks good in the lights. Thanks Norm and Lemmo Emmo,,,,great stuff.
What is the top?
first song? feel like its on the tip of my tongue but I cant figure it out
a part of it sounds like the intro of When The Levee Breaks by Zeppelin
Wow!
Here i can find this stratosphere tabs?
When Norm read the letter, did he say "This Gibson"??? This guitar is way better than any Gibson.
Carlos is a beautiful person. He took the time to watch & comment on one of MY videos(BTW,I only have 91 Subs).I appreciate that man for Taking time out for my channel(small time "has been" channel). What a kind, nice man he is....
beautiful sounding, beautifully crafted guitar, with the most gawd-awful hideous sunburst finish ever conceived and executed on a stringed instrument. another Musser featured on Guitar 'o th' Day had the same finish so ... I guess SOMEone must like it???
♥
For Carlos!
i wish mike would play some brazilian music when he gets a guitar like this. do a favour to that wood and play something from it’s birthplace
Wow! You’re not wrong Norm.
Let's just start with a few songs...plays cooler song then literally anything I know on guitar!
