Playing the song that is forbidden to play in a guitar shop, but so chatoyant you are instantly pardoned and thanked . Subtle strumming , you are definitely a great !
i love watching Lemmo play sooo much!!! You never expect what he's going to play and it'll always take you by surprise and sound just absolutely fucking awesome !!!!
I was at the show and Lemmo blew the doors off the place. I am not exaggerating when I say there were four bands who went up before and they were all talented enough, and then Lemmo went up and in two seconds it was clear he was on another level. It was the difference between college football and the NFL. At one point Lemmo crushed a massive solo and the guitar player from one of the other bands who was standing nearby turned to his friend and said "oh fuck me, man, I suck."
Chatoyant : One cause of chatoyance is the tree being under stress as it grows causing the grain to curl back on itself. This results in an effect that basically looks like waves within the wood. This is an amazing and beautiful 3D look that changes as you look at the wood from different angles. Great demo. Thanks. ✌️
Has the shape of an old Gibson Jumbo.Martins usually don't have the soft shoulders so that, the slotted headstock and twelve frets make it quite the desirable guitar in my book!Really liking it!!!
Glad the gig was great ! Nice Martin. Been at it off and on since '73 (64 now). Never got a handle on a 12 string. Tangerine,,,,i'm adding this to my list of DCG tunes, Sweet Home Alabama maybe the king.
Brandon...wish you would have pointed out that this model has 12 frets and a slotted headstock. Four such models were offered in the late '60s and early '70s: D12-20 (mahogany), D12-35, D12-41 and D12-45. The 20 and the 35 sold well, but changing all those strings on a slot head was a nightmare and folks began asking for 14-fret models with solid headstocks. As the newer D12-18 and D12-28 were introduced, the 12-fret models fell off the pricelist. How sad. Thanks for your spec-checking and for improving our chatoyant vocabulary!
Beautiful guys. Lemmo playing a 12 like it was mean't. These Martin's are the King of 12-string Dreads, yes better than Guilds which are nice but too top heavy. Rosewood HAS to be the only back and sides for these delicious 12-string guitars. Oh, and nice intro by the new guy. Norman, offer him a job, he's a born natural!
Holy hell I need that ! I’ve always wanted a D12-35, and it’s from my birth year to boot. Why do I never have the money available when things like this come up?
Once again this Wizard shows his talent, give him anything to play and it sounds simply, absolutely awesome. Love and blessings from Kruger Park in SA.
Love it! Curious how folks compare the D12-35 to the D12-20 (both 1968)? I have a 68 D12-20 & it is awesome - just wonder if the Brazilian adds more depth?
I love Brazilian Rosewood. I really hope that someday that Brazilian Rosewood will become more common again because for me as a guitar player and for others as well, I hope that companies will be able to get their hands on a couple of pre CITIES batches of Brazilian Rosewood for some of today's guitars.
The reason for Martin shifting to Indian rosewood - 1969 was the last year for Brazilian - was Brazil's embargo on the export of logs. Martin operates it's own sawmill and mills its own wood. No longer being able t import logs of Brazilian was a deal breaker for Martin so they switched to Indian rosewood. I believe the whole CITES treaty stuff comes in way later.
I think hell hath frozen over - Lemmo plays a 12 string tuned like it should be tuned and not that awful fifths tuning he's used on every other 12 string he's played on GOTD.
69 was the last year for Brazilian rosewood. my store has a 69 D12-35 that has way nicer Brazilian. Even into 70 some D35's had indian on the outside and Brazilian in the middle. Norm needs to get better employees.
@@maltesetony9030 I can assure you the fabulous rich tones of my D-12 28 sound the direct opposite of mushy, maybe you should change the strings. Moreover, the only Martin out of many I've owned I would never willingly part. Guild 12's are great too, but unwieldily and unstably top heavy.
yes we all should buy the products he advertises so what if the stuff he advertises is made by Johnson & Johnsons if its made in china its got to be good unless were talkin about Epiphone or cheap ass Fender guitars, Hell everybody knows they cause cancer lol
Tangerine drifting into Stairway. That's a first. Sounded fantastic!

Tangerine is one of my all time favourite Zeppelin songs, 👍🏻

Hope there's some video of the concert you can show us that live too far away to see his band in concert.
I had to go and find the band videos. Great live show! Fun playing😁. Love that 12 too

Tangerine

Brazilian Rosewood is a red herring for age. If Martin used Indian rosewood in the 60's it'd sound just as good.
Michael, did you have to get written permission from Norm to play 'Stairway' in his store?
Looks nice for some good corridos
WHAT IS THE SONG IN THE BEGINNING (not the stairway part)
Tangerine. Off Zeppelin III
I have an 1986 Flambeau 12 string designed by George Lowden and built by S. Yairi . It has some wear and tear but dam it sounds nice .
I'm half lit what is the name of the zep song? Tangerine?
Lemmo it sounds awesome
Jesus Lemmo. Save some for the rest of us.
You can't deny that a good 12-string is just amazing! Love that great choral sound you can get from these! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Whoooooooo!
Jeff Kiesel went through his chatoyant phase about 2 years ago.

Slotted head 12 fret neck
Some stairway.
Shitoyant?! Wow! You live and you learn😅 That Martin sounded real good. 👏👍

Is there any other strumming song besides LED Zeppelin in USA?🤭
I think hell hath frozen over - Lemmo plays a 12 string tuned like it should be tuned and not that awful fifths tuning he's used on every other 12 string he's played on GOTD.
Correct me if I’m wrong but this sounds an awful lot like a stairway to heaven mashup ?
Stairway played with continuous strumming... pretty cool rendition.
Just close enough to be recognizable, but not close enough to get hit with a copyright strike
Hey ...no stairway to heaven ...lol

Guilds are better 12-strings than Martins.
Disagree. Having played both, Martin is considerably superior.
