Time to make some progress on the old 1955 Chevy and see if we can get it to run. I love these old tri five chevy's and I'm really enjoying working on this one. A simple bracket that bolts to the Dr side manifold would have mounted that alternator and saved a bunch of money.
Possibly, but I was mismatched on pulleys and didn't have the bracket. Plus it's fun to dress up your toys. Thanks for watching!

Alternator is not charging, it should be at 13.8 for a healthy charging system. If it's a one wire check the coil excitation wire that comes off the main post sometimes they are loose or corroded.
Agreed. However the wiring harness on this car is a disaster so I consider even a modest half a volt as a win. Hopefully a new harness will solve a lot of the electrical issues but at this point being able to move it around is a win. Thanks for watching!

Also sounds good on motor also for Recharge try this ground cable put pig tail ground to fire wall with ignition wire to champ to fire wall for bolt or screw plus 2 thin washer on connector sandwich together then bolt up place ! If don't work explain Alternator type if single or double with Regulartor inside it also wire up to plus gauge may be faulty and need new one too! How big Alternator amps you running too ! If need help wire up just ask me too and I help out !
The wiring harness on this car is a nightmare. It should be charging a lot better but I'll take what I've got for now. Considering a new harness actually because this one is sooooo chopped up. Thanks for the advice!

I remember did paint job to 1937 Ford Model A car and guy put updated 350 V8 motor 4 barrel , Turbo 700SR 4 Overdrive Automatic transmission with Shift also 377 and also aftermarket gauges to ! What happened battery be flat or 3 volts and had booster it ! After booster get motor started volt gauge said charging but found ground Pig tail was not hook plus Regulartor inside Alternator too so fix then ran fine plus Recharge too and in 24 hours be low again found battery to old put new one plus higher Cold Cranking Amps plus Reserve Amps bingo solved problems forever! Yes wire harness on 1937 was nightmare to !

I'm surprised you don't use 2 cycle fuel in the bowl instead of brake clean.
I usually only use two cycle fuel for first starts. I need to get me one of those little ketchup squirt bottle things to fill the bowl with actual gas. The brake clean nozzle is just too tempting. 🤣 Thanks for watching!
