Today, the LEGO Group announces the new epic LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set - the latest launch in the Ultimate Collector’s Series set (UCS) line-up and a must-have for fans of LEGO and Star Wars.
The AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transporter) first appeared in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, its huge presence appearing over the horizon on the icy fields during the Battle of Hoth, ready to attack the Rebel Alliance’s shield generator. Nothing like it had ever been seen before, and the Galactic Empire’s Imperial ground forces used the AT-AT's gigantic size to overpower the Rebellion and ultimately destroy Echo Base.
This immense new LEGO model is massive in size and detail, paying homage to the gigantic vehicles in the film. It features over 6,785 pieces, a movable head, spinning guns, adjustable legs, and side panels that open to reveal amazingly detailed interiors.
In addition, the set comes with nine minifigures and accessories, including Luke Skywalker (along with a wire so fans can recreate the famous scene of him swinging from an AT-AT’s underside in an attempt to thwart their attack), General Veers, and four Stormtrooper minifigures, as well as two speeder bikes and an E-Web cannon set accessories - plus plenty of interactive elements and easter eggs! An amazing set for display or action, the set can also fit an army of stormtrooper minifigures inside - 40 in total.
Even the unboxing is a rewarding experience, as the packaging displays beautiful imagery of the final set from all angles. Additional images show the perspective from inside the AT-AT, whilst all the pieces are stored in four individual drawers, which combined show the famous Battle of Hoth scene.
A must-have for any dedicated Star Wars fan, this model has been designed by legendary LEGO set designer Henrik Andersen. This is so much cooler than the Millennium Falcon, which is missing the complete inside detail. I was strongly hoping for the Falcon to have a complete interior. Alas, it didn't and it bummed me out. Especially considering other do-it-yourselvers were able to accomplish that feat.
YES! Me too. Had they done a full interior, I'd have bought the Falcon.
I saw one guy who did a full interior all the way around the ship, but he had to completely change the frame that held the set together.
This set is stunning! I definitely won’t be able to pick it up on Black Friday, but I’ll be picking it up after the holiday craze blows over.
The knees never hyperextend/reverse bend.. but everyone seems to pose them inaccurately..

@@huggiebigs I believe it would depend on the actual animal (or perhaps it would just look that way). I would imagine a real walking tank machine would be pretty impractical in real war-like situations, though...
I'd like to see how this looks next to the Hasbro Legacy Collection AT-AT. Wondering which is larger. I know the UCS Millenium Falcon was slightly larger than the Legacy Collection BMF. They look amazing side by side.
Gonna start saving some money for this. I recently rediscovered my love for Lego Star Wars and decided if I was going to get back into it I would focus on Imperial stuff, an boy did I pick a good time to do so (or bad, from a certain point of view).

I didn't realize this model could actually hold 4 speeders. When the leaked images came out I thought it only had room for 2.
I’m thinkin the new battle pack will have a couple snow troopers and hopefully a speeder that fits in the walker on the other side

I've been saving up for this specific model ever since the leaks came out, but I'm not sure if I could afford parting with that much money.
I'm not exactly a massive Lego collector, as the only model I have is the UCS Slave I, so I don't know how UCS pricing goes.
My theory is that UCS models don't go down in price, however is that true?
Is there a chance that this model will go on sale? Or will it stay as it is?
It will probably stay the same (although there maybe sales at some stored), but when production stops, it will go up in price.
what i would do is wait for around 2 years for black friday for a high enough sale to justify buying it, as there is a good chance it will go on sale then. i just don’t think it will go on sale the month it releases. if you wait for it to retire, it will probably go up over time

Probably makes a difference if the set is actually minifig scale or not
probably because this set is made specifically for mini figures to be displayed around, just like the other UCS sets that contain large amounts of mini figures like the cantina, Ewok village, and millennium falcon, and the figures are just a bonus in the sets that aren't made for them and just a little side inclusion to look nice on the stand

Fantastic model but I will be spending my 800$ on parts to build my own stuff. Also it might just be too big ;) Imagine having to build a Hoth diorama scaling of that UCS model, that would take atleast 40 baseplates!

This might be one of the best lego set ever.
I think the set would have been perfect if priced at 750$, but it’s LEGO Star Wars so that’s not gonna happen and if it was a little more tiled off in the inside of the legs
750 is still expensive you can buy so many thinks with 750 (if you are really really lego fan you can buy it)

I have the more recent UCS Sandcrawler which is already pretty massive.. In this scale it would be insane haha.
@@MKu64 dang not sure how it looks in person. I never picked it up only because I felt the studded design and details were alittle lackluster to be considered a UCS set. Would love one at least with this amount of detail
