“I was trying to be more historically grounded”…
Pans immediately to dragon on the roof 🤣
Sweet build 🤙
How do we know its not a statue or a gargoyle of that dragons as a sigil of its kingdom?
thats what he says to get the sweet Beyond The Brick interview.
The dragon is one thing but didn't corn come from the americas a bit later on.
@@Keithymac1 wow that went over our heads....
@@kendrickparks9129 wow that went over our heads of corn.... (FTFY)
The castle is amazing, but the landscaping with the bridge and watermill is my favorite part. Such a cool build!
I like the pine trees in particular. One of the most realistic trees I've seen in Lego
The way the water in the river is done is amazing. Not only are there proper river banks, with the water level below the landscape, but the blue transparent tiles which allow a murky view to the landscape below is so amazing. It's like you're looking into a real shallow stream!
I can feel Shadiversity's glee from here.
Indeed.
exactly what I was thinking
Machicolations !!!
@@Mjolnir007 beat me by a day haha xD
@@arturarruda8151 yeah me too, still I do believe we can assume this would get Shads official seal of approval
I love castles and keeping it historical correct is a nice touch. Well done sir! The only downside to doing a castle out of loads of grey bricks is that it becomes way to perfectly flat and shiny.
Historical correct? I'm sorry, no. That's more the "historical" sight on castles, Putin, Erdogan and Ceaușescu have. Who built similiar monstrosities in real live.
I love the cross section of the wall filled with loose stone. I don't think I've seen that before and it really adds to the realistic feel.
What a totally amazing, and breath taking build. The massive attention to detail, and added features goes beyond belief! An explanation by the builder added a great deal of appreciation for the time and effort it took to create this! Simply remarkable!
I like builders that are very enthusiastic with the builds and interview. Also kinda sounds like Brian
This is wonderfully detailed! My favorite part is the visible detail under the water bricks!!!
The reflective bricks just blows me away, when the camera penned towards the inside of the castle with that beautiful floor reflection, wow!.
The window pieces for the backs of the chairs look amazing. Lego is just the best thing on Earth. Creativity is great
only bad thing is cost and minifigures availability, especially for older sets.
@@tigerbesteverything what really sucks is when u have a person lying about rarity and selling a figure like phase2 rex that came in a $25 set and isn't rare at all, for $150+. Those types of people should leave the lego community and sell used cars like the shady asshole of a business man that they are.
@@hoarder66 you need to understand the concept of market: if there is a lot of buyers, but few sellers, then product price just skyrocket.
@@tigerbesteverything i understand that just fine. There r soooooo many rex's on the market. But certain people go on instagram and make a fake panic as to get everyone to rush to them and purchase. Pump and dump. Rex shouldn't have ever got over $20
There is something about Lego castles that make them so majestic. Excellent job. Well done.
he has harnessed the power of MACHICULATIONS!
The build is amazing
Just one thing to be fully accurate, corn wasn't introduced in Europe until 1493 as it's a native American plant. In the middle what was cultivated was mostly rye and wheat one year, the second year barley and oats, during the third year nothing was cultivated to let the soil recover
Medieval times ended with the 13th century Renaissance but the spyglass was invented 1608.
And a massive list of other inaccuracies
Also ice-cream, was invented in WWI
And sugar was from the Americas
So I guess this build was set in the year 1494 then.lol
Maybe it's from the Princess Bride Universe? Australia and the Americas (if you read the book) are mentioned, but no guns and cannons to replace the need for castles.
@@NP-zt6hy he states Europe ffs.
Did you even watch it.
Come back when you learn to pay attention
What a beautiful build !!! Love how you went out of your way to mirror real castles !
“I was trying to be more historically... and here is a corn field."
I was literally just about to make the exact same joke, but you beat me to it.
As soon as he said "Machicolations" I knew he was a Shadiversity fan
Machicolations - Shadversity would be proud.
Love that he actually tried to ground his decisions into some sort of reasoning rather than, "Ohh thats looks cool", the little details like the books being locked up was really cool.
Absolutely fantastic. Real work of art and history lesson. Give this chap a prize.
This brought me back 20 years, those knight Lego sets.
I love castles and seeing this in person was a treat!
That's awesome. You can really tell a lot of thought and time was put into every piece of this.
Imagine Shadiversity reviewing the protection levels of this sick build.
This is amazing, well done! I hope a review from Shadiversity is on its way!
Amazing! Always giddy about lego castles since the 80s.
0:55 Machicolations? (Takes deep breath) MACHICOLATIOOOOOOOONNNSSSSSSSSS-AAAAAH!!!!!!
What a cool way of showing the rooms by just having the back open.
7:58 I love the "X"llusion on the bridge by surrounding dark grey circular 1x1 flat pieces with light grey ones
Explain
@@bloodyoil5660 look closesly at the grey bridge leading up to the brown drawbridge. There are several dark grey pieces forming the rock path. They are all surrounded by dozens of light gray pieces forming the bridges surface. The spaces between the dark grey and light grey pieces forms a contrast resembling an x shape
I now feel more educated about castles after watching this 😂 awesome build
That pine tree is best lego tree I’ve seen period 👌🏻 also whole ambient about river very well done, amazing build
This is my favorite build ever! I've watched it get bigger over the years at our BrickFair!
I love the historic creeper under the pine tree
MACHICOLAAATTIIOOOOONNNSS!! Amazing build! Instantly reminded me of Shad's awesome channel!
10:00 the creeper in the bushes made this build ten times better
Wow this guy just gained a new fan! Build itself is just amazing, but the effort and passion he has for the build made it even better. Can’t wait to see what else he builds
Thought of Shadiversity as soon as I heard that beautiful word: machicolations!!!
The landscaping is awesome
Mat Cauthon was probably my favorite character. Castle is Epic.
coolest lego build ever
Man, what a wonderful job. And throwing Mat in there as well!!! Nice
One of the best Lego castles I've seen
Absolutely love the references in this build :D
That man has done his research
Exactly when my mam said that he wanted it to be historically acurate, a big dragon pops outta nowhere =))). Amazing build tho. Good job.
I’m a sucker for inside detail great job and very accurate👍👍
Amazing!! Just curious, how many bricks did you use for this fantastic castle build? Thank you to show this wonderful job to us.
Very impressive and well documented
I think for the period, a telescope would be a tube with "telescope" scribed onto it, waiting a few hundred years for the lenses to arrive.
Love the Wheel of Time, Mat, figurine
Master full build
The underwater details are quite clever
He really was spitting facts for the entire duration
WOW! you are so talented! I can't believe that's a MOC it's so good!
This reminds me so much of those DK books with the cutaway illustrations! Anyone remember the Castle Explorer PC game?
Finally! A castle that can sit beside the lego blacksmith set and not look small.
Man!!!! this is jud beautyfull !!!! well built with great imagination and planning!!!. Great stuff
Awesome castle with all those wild details thanks for sharing
Dude... that's impressive.
As soon as he mentioned Shadiversity, I was like, "Respect."
Dear god i love legos at the first moment some give me one as present this castle is amazing man but the watermill , the landscaping it the bridge my favorite parts cuz i know its hard to made all of them but the little things he made on it its such a cool a and amazing build
I LOVE this!!!! Castles have always been my favorite
Amazing build, I wish I had the time, skill and pieces to create something like this, a truly beautiful build.
also as a fellow fan of Shad's videos I know he would be very pleased with your accurate representation of matriculations.
Machicolation. Matriculation is when you pass an exam to get into a university. :o)
Seriously, just for this one theme build of his he had to spend thousands of dollars on the bricks. hardcore dedication.
0:49 Shad from Shadiversity will be happy to hear this. :)
Learned so much. Didn’t expect it but I did enjoy it
I like the watermill outside the castle!
I could tell the @shadiversity influence the moment he pronounced machicolations haha!
I was really just waiting for the shad namedrop, it was completely obvious from the way it was built.
Anyway, two things: Medieval people had no:
1. Spyglasses
2. Corn
“I was trying to be more historically grounded”
Yeah sure bro, like you put Machicolations on it...😑
"If you look underneath, there's actually holes there called 'Machicolations'."
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!👌
Ok he said he watched Shadiversity, makes sense now.
Great info. Thanks for the share!
This was my childhood dream
Wow very aweson castle. It's very huge. Oh my God.
Effing *beautiful!*
absolutely beautiful
Life goals, awesome!
This guy sounds like a blast at parties....
That is indeed a great pine tree design!
Excellent! An impressive Lego model that isn't just built from a hugely overpriced and boring kit. Bravo, Sir!
This would be an awesome D&D board.
LOL the part where he drops the glass and it goes to law and order he caused 6 explosions
Awesome work!
Amazing castle. Inside, outside, everything fantastic! I think there's a little mistake with corn. It has central american origin and europeans didn't know about it in the middle age
Wow!! so amazing!!
Damn that is gorgeous.
lol i live in germany and i did not saw one single castle like this in my whole life and we got 15.000 of them over here :D
Beautiful stuff! I love the trees 😍💚
Did ya see the creeper?
I love it so much I also love medieval times. So cool
This is Awesome!
Nicely done .
Nice video mate! This castle is just 10/10. I'm gonna start doing LEGO videos too.Any tip for me?
Very unique river! Such a great idea!
Incredible Build Rich!!
I love how he use a window for a chair
wicked
Shad would be proud
Wow really nice work on the castle this is really amazing
This is so awesome
Nice Mat Cauthon Easter egg!
Amazing
I was waiting for this oneee
