Canadians are so polite. They didn't use the sirens nor did they honk their horn. "Don't want to be a bother but could you just move out of the way a little so we can get by? Thank you kindly!"
Also it is night time, it is dark, everyone can see you coming. In Scotland it is advised not to use sirens at night in built up areas unless needed due to the fact the flashing lights carry for a longer distance between buildings.
This aerial was TFS's response to the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London. It is not a practical apparatus but may have some uses. It is unlikely to be worth the enormous cost. If you think about how fire units are deployed, this unit will not be first to arrive so will typically have difficulty getting into position to perform urgent high-rise rescues. With some coordination, it may be positioned to use its master stream on a high rise but one gun does not make a shootout. London acquired three 64m/210' aerials after the Grenfell incident but the chassis are shorter than this beast. For reference, this Bronto is 70m/230' max.
Such a nice looking unit. Tower 1. The duel turning axels are cool and the design sure gives it a lot of manuverability. I'd see myself operating one of em. Hey! Even utilize em for high level rescues in the US! Tower 1 itself is impressive without a doubt. Also because of it being on a Mack chassis, it gets my approval
The size and weight of a unit like this would be hard to utilize in older cities like NY in the areas where this would be most useful. Simply not enough room In narrow streets to safely set this up. Also weight would exceed some older bridges capacities in older sections of cities. Using 5 axles this truck weighs in excess of 100,000 lbs I’m sure.
Noticed that it was responding without the use of a siren. Is that SOP because of its size or just a coincidence when the filming was being done? Also, are there wind speed restrictions on when it can be used and to what height?
I don't have an answer to your question: but my theroy is it may be sop as this is never first due, usually only roles on I believe 3 alarm plus unless other wise requested
I have seen a concrete pumper with rear steering. It wasn't just a SPIF axle that pivots, it actually had a linkage running the length of the truck. It was pretty weird

Cause they (like others) relise leaning on the horn doesn't actually help if the people cant move
Visit Toronto at least, before passing judgement on all Canadians. They get it done when it counts.

I'm pretty sure all axles turn. Wheels too. 😃
Looks like something from a cartoon lol
DAMN!!! FDNY, LAFD and all the other metro cities in the US need to step it up! That truck is freakin awesome!

Haha mack 💩 I have driven a mack granite and feel bad for the fire fighters in this video 😂
How tall is that tower?
230 Ft
@@Lobsterman5481 wow! That explains the tandem steer axles! Thanks for the reply!
If I remember right, It can reach the 22nd floor of a building and the bucket is big enough to accept a wheelchair for those who need it
sure went the complicated way with building that disaster looking truck lol
I would have figured they would have went with a full rear steering option.

Damn no sirens:(

And the winner of ugliest fire apparatus goes to… well, 1st place goes to any European fire truck. But tower 1 wins second place.
Alright bro no body cares take your comments elsewhere
