- From Live Under the Sky '91 Tokyo, Marcus Miller's "Run for Cover"
Marcus Miller - bass, Dean Brown - guitar, Patches Stewart - trumpet, Everette Harp - saxophone, Philippe Saisse - keyboards, Steve Thornton - percussion, Poogie Bell - Drums
Still my favourite Marcus Miller performance to date
Marcus Miller proving that there is in fact such thing as lead bass
This gotta be about the best version of this piece out there, both musically and in chemistry on stage. It just works beautifully. Power, groove, everyone hitting it just right. Must have felt amazing playing at this concert when the energy just flows.
Keep listening to it every day and is what I aspire to be as a bass player myself.
Under 10000 views in nearly 10 years... mankind is lost, this song is so fuckin awesome i heard it at least 1000 times!
Yes 100% ❤❤❤
oh yyyesssssssssseeeeeee j adore!!!!!!!!
Maby because of its time (when RUclips didn't exist) all the older generation and real fans have it on CD?
These snare hits are powerful
Every hit for the zeros on his pay cheque!
It’s as sharp as it get’s. Excellently played by Poogie
Such passion with Marcus Miller. Classic.
This is still a Classic!!! If you don't move to this groove you is DEAD!!!!!
Poogie Bell!!!! Cheers from a digger of real (!) music in Sweden! Take good care folks! We are not alone - at all!
何回観ても最高。
ベースギターは4弦あれば充分グルーヴ出来るっちゅー見本みたいなライブ。
カッコいい。
This is the first version I've heard of this song. I never get tired of listening to it. greetings from Argentina
Check out the original version from 1981, which was featured on David Sanborn's excellent album Voyeur! Which also featured Marcus M, the man who wrote it for Sanborn.
Best of best ~ run for cover
OMG..I must've been living under a rock..to not have seen this!!! THANK YOU!! Trying to catch my breath! What an incredible performance.
These were definitely some bad boys ! Good taste ! I just ran into this about six months ago. I've been listening to David Sanborn for 35 years and didn't know it was Marcus Miller playing bass in his band. ✌️
Legendary marcus
love this bassline 👍👍
My Favorite youtube video!
When you notice someone supremely cool, sensuous, confident and oozing charisma walking down the street, this music can easily describe your reaction. It's at once smooth but assertive, relaxed yet ready to take off, patient yet passionate.
Yep I listened this 40 years now and he's so serious fundamental and technical skills I adore
😢😅😮😅
ຂຽນ😅😅
Oowe! That Marcus Miller!!!BAM💥
Run for Cover is the first song I ever heard Marcus play on...1981, a fellow high school musician dropped the needle on David Sanborn's Voyeur album, and I became a lifetime Marcus Miller fan. No one tops his combination of chops, taste, and groove. He Invented the slap and pull style!
Actually it was Larry Graham who invented the slap and pull.
I like your music
