    70 is treated like Royalty, and for a good reason. Of all the steam engines of the collection, I'm glad it's the 70 that works because she's probably the most beautiful of the bunch since she's a Classic American Baldwin Logging locomotive, and she has a gorgeous whistle.
    I hope she keeps lasting you many more years. :)

    The running gear really doesn't sound all that bad, guys. She'll hold for the next month without an issue.

    You guys rock, watching from Melbourne Australia.
    It does take abit of grit and determination to keep a Heritage Railway going, especially when your Broke AF and the equipment is flat clapped. I understand the challenges, doing just that myself.
    Well done with your efforts, keep pushing forward and enjoy the journey - just like you are.
    All the best,
    Rodney Reed

    Fascinating viewpoint watching and hearing the knuckle work.
    I thought those leaf springs were just for show, but they actually function!

    Is your guys NP 7012A still in operation? I was able to have the honor of riding behind that classic EMD and I love the SL4T. I hope to see it in the near future ❤

    I remember the Railroad having an Alco S1 switch engine that was numbered 42 it was originally painted black with yellow safety stripes then repainted green to match some of the green painted passenger cars I’m wondering if you still have that locomotive

    • @mtrainierrail
      @mtrainierrail  6 месяцев назад

      That is the ALCO S-1 in the videos. Several years ago it was renumbered back to the number it had while it was at Fort Lewis.

    Is there a greater chance of the pins and brass warming up with the engine under a heavier load? I would assume so but I’m unsure.

    • @mtrainierrail
      @mtrainierrail  6 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, when they go out to test the work, they work the engine as hard as possible. The idea being if it's going to break, break it now.
