Some titles that are alive on PS3, are not doing the best on Xbox 360, few titles are dead, and few have people playing it, yet again it depends on the game.
Bought a ps3 for my dad He doesnt need 4k or sum and its 100 bucks free online instead of 300 bucks 60 bucks online ... The games are 10 bucks so its perfect
7 years later and it still bothers the fuck out of me that they are charging for multiplayer. There’s no reason for it to be this way, other than greed.
Definitely no ps+ multiplayer is whypplstill play. Sadly my ps3 is jailbroken when i bought it but i had shit internet speed anyways so i focus on singleplayerexperience.

The PS3 has aged really well, cos it has internal storage, free online play, relatively good media player, acceptable graphics in today's standard, good library of games, super cheap cos it's last last gen, the possibility to jailbreak with the ability to run emulators, and the fact that it's an awesome Bluray player is just the icing on the cake.
I literally just bought GTA IV, I joined the army the year it came out, so I completely missed out on the bandwagon back then, I went from San Andreas to V. Honestly im super excited, just waiting for my old ass ps3 to finish half a decade worth of updates haha

One of our clan members back in MW3 died from one day to another. We were sniping at Dome in a private lobby when he told us that he bought a new car and was going to drive with it the next day. His friend even said ''Dont drive too fast''. A day later we heard news from his friend that he died, crashed against a tree. Imagine that. You played MW3 with a dude and he dies ~ 10 hours later. I still have him on my friendslist in my old account from 2012. He was never online again of course. RIP.

The guy chatting about how PS4's Party Chat ruined much of the random social side of MP was spot on. I met so many people (some I still play with today), had some real laughs with randoms, got into arguments and killed myself laughing when somebody gave it large in-lobby then got destroyed in-game and then kicked off raging. All that pretty much stopped. A few of us used in-game chat when COD4's remaster came out for nostalgia reasons but most of the lobbies were just dead. Such a shame. I genuinely feel like we lost something there.
i agree 100% BUT Vr is keeping that alive all the games you play could be in a discord server if you want but almost everyone chooses to talk in the random lobbies of multiplayer games you should give it a try its been amazing!

Cool seeing you try out all these games online! I got a group that plays a bunch of older online PS2 and PS3 games and we actually play Warhawk a decent amount. The servers they got up now work incredibly well. It's like the game never got taken offline!
Its refreshing to hear us kids, as a adults now, talk about having a good time in our old guilty pleasures. I was a Xbox fan boy, so it was Halo for me, but shit hand me a ps3 with Metal Gear Solid 4 and God of War 3, and i'm set. Just turned 24 lads, here's to growing up gamers!

Sadly if it was free, the consoles would be more expensive, there would be less deals in the market place, hardly any updates and worse connection. Sony still needs to pay employees to keep the service maintained and to a standard. Or you’d get like on PC riddled with hackers.
@@MrSteamedchicken I know they don’t get money from the internet provider but what I’m saying is by the time you pay for a console then the game then the internet then an additional fee for membership the cost to play games starts becoming too much. Regarding console costs I doubt there would be any difference since the PS3 and Xbox 360 had hardly any price difference despite the PS3 having free to play online. And that’s the reason why it bugs me; since the previous console had it with no problems and the pursuit for money they decide to charge for the new consoles. Moreover the further concern is the fact that over time new generation consoles will begin charging even higher fees as seen by the cost of consoles and games (e.g. a new PS2 game used to cost £30, the PS3 then charged £45, the PS4 then charged £55 and now the PS5 £60) or the fee for membership will begin increasing or even worse they’ll charge new fees over random previously free features. It’s due to this I waited years after release of the PS4 to get it and any of its games and the reason why I’ve decided to give up all together on getting a PS5.
@@Nemesislord001 Quite frankly, as a solely ps3 player during that generation, the Xbox 360 infrastructure for Xbox live was leaps better than psn. As soon as the PS4 came out with paid subscription, it became leaps and bounds better and rivalled Xbox live. You just get what you pay for. Money wise. In my country the UK. Online costs as little as £4.17 a month. That’s the equivalent to a very small McDonald’s meal. I understand people find it hard for money but that’s almost half the minimum wage an hour. £4.17 for unlimited hours of fun with friends on games. I’d be in support of a free online system but from what we’ve had to learn from it is Pc is riddled with hackers, Nintendo switch online is still years behind and ps3 which was barebones and a lot worse than Xbox live at the time. In a ideal world the quality wouldn’t dip for a free service but in the real world it’s not possible. I would argue that PlayStation should do two options. A cheaper model for people that want just online and no extra games they may not even want. And for Sony to offer a game pass that’s separate from ps +.

Kids these days should be thankful with what they got even if there in hard environments because it will impact the person they will be in the future. The PS3 generation was so freakin good. Way too many hits to count and I'm still working through my ps3 backlog to this day. Plus online console gaming was the wild west back then lol those online lobbies were brutal

I bought a ps3 but when the ps4 launched I was like "wait, I gotta buy another one?" then went to PC. Can still play online half-life 2 deathmatch for free even though I bought it on the ps4 generation. Feels great.
When I'm on leave and go back home I make it a point to go and play some Nazi Zombies. Still as good at it as ever and I'm surprised the hosts don't leave as often as they used to. Not only that, but my dad upgraded internet at our house so for the first time in forever like a year ago I was finally host. Playing Tank Dempsey in multi-player Nazi Zombies was surreal.

Yeah it feels really weird looking at the video. One side its very warm, nostalgic feeling seeing all those people still playing games online with their old ass ps3. Driving around in GTA5, playing matches etc. as if the PS4, PS5 never happened in their world. Just enjoying that free online. Playing those old games. Other side its also depressing seeing those game that didn't survive and are just empty lobbies, no sign of life - just loneliness and silence. Absence of everyojne. Eventually every game on the ps3 will end up this way and even the last game will lose its last active players.

Cool seeing you try out all these games online! I got a group that plays a bunch of older online PS2 and PS3 games and we actually play Warhawk a decent amount. The servers they got up now work incredibly well. It's like the game never got taken offline!

Sadly if it was free, the consoles would be more expensive, there would be less deals in the market place, hardly any updates and worse connection. Sony still needs to pay employees to keep the service maintained and to a standard. Or you’d get like on PC riddled with hackers.
It's was free to outplay xbox and after a few years it just made sense to make people pay as them doing it for free never made much difference.

Regarding console costs I doubt there would be any difference since the PS3 and Xbox 360 had hardly any price difference despite the PS3 having free to play online.
And that’s the reason why it bugs me; since the previous console had it with no problems and the pursuit for money they decide to charge for the new consoles. Moreover the further concern is the fact that over time new generation consoles will begin charging even higher fees as seen by the cost of consoles and games (e.g. a new PS2 game used to cost £30, the PS3 then charged £45, the PS4 then charged £55 and now the PS5 £60) or the fee for membership will begin increasing or even worse they’ll charge new fees over random previously free features.
It’s due to this I waited years after release of the PS4 to get it and any of its games and the reason why I’ve decided to give up all together on getting a PS5.
@@Nemesislord001 Quite frankly, as a solely ps3 player during that generation, the Xbox 360 infrastructure for Xbox live was leaps better than psn. As soon as the PS4 came out with paid subscription, it became leaps and bounds better and rivalled Xbox live. You just get what you pay for.
Money wise. In my country the UK. Online costs as little as £4.17 a month. That’s the equivalent to a very small McDonald’s meal. I understand people find it hard for money but that’s almost half the minimum wage an hour. £4.17 for unlimited hours of fun with friends on games.
I’d be in support of a free online system but from what we’ve had to learn from it is Pc is riddled with hackers, Nintendo switch online is still years behind and ps3 which was barebones and a lot worse than Xbox live at the time. In a ideal world the quality wouldn’t dip for a free service but in the real world it’s not possible.
I would argue that PlayStation should do two options. A cheaper model for people that want just online and no extra games they may not even want. And for Sony to offer a game pass that’s separate from ps +.

Can still play online half-life 2 deathmatch for free even though I bought it on the ps4 generation. Feels great.
The mini-interviews with the veterans still playing the games was a great touch, I really hope that's a recurring theme for future videos like these.

When I'm on leave and go back home I make it a point to go and play some Nazi Zombies. Still as good at it as ever and I'm surprised the hosts don't leave as often as they used to. Not only that, but my dad upgraded internet at our house so for the first time in forever like a year ago I was finally host. Playing Tank Dempsey in multi-player Nazi Zombies was surreal.

Yeah it feels really weird looking at the video. One side its very warm, nostalgic feeling seeing all those people still playing games online with their old ass ps3. Driving around in GTA5, playing matches etc. as if the PS4, PS5 never happened in their world. Just enjoying that free online. Playing those old games.
Other side its also depressing seeing those game that didn't survive and are just empty lobbies, no sign of life - just loneliness and silence. Absence of everyojne.
Eventually every game on the ps3 will end up this way and even the last game will lose its last active players.
