    Did you mention in the 23x section what makes a blue unit an eligible target for Sleep / Berserk? If a unit has any usable weapons / staves in their inventory then they can be targeted; if they are unarmed then they will not be targeted. So you can take two guys and swap their weapons (assuming they use different weapon types) and they won't get statused. But of course they won't be able to enemy phase either.
    I think assuming that you've kept Ninian and a C rank staff user alive, your easiest approach to 23x is to:
    - Deploy a Restore user on one side of the map (probably lthe left group) and re-order them to be early in the deployment order
    - Deploy Ninian on the other side of the map and Ninis's Grace or Filla's Might the same unit every turn while they advance
    Ninian herself will never be targeted with status but she does have to watch out for Purge / Bolting cuz they will probably OHKO her if she didn't take the Angelic Robe from chapter 22.

    In XCOM, an Ironman where you can reset the mission but not reset what happens during the mission is called a bronze man. But I don't know if the term soft Iron Man is too ingrained in the Fire Emblem Community to try to change at this point.

    I just watched this video recently, and after coming to Ch29 Cog of Destiny on a randomizer, I used this video as reference to tackle the chapter in a way I never thought I would.
    I couldn't help but notice a single strip of tiles across the river at the starting position that do not trigger reinforcements. Considering, well, randomizer, half my units were fliers, so I just ferried my entire team through that single strip of tiles to not trigger reinforcements. It's still a bit risky given what the enemies can be randomized into, but it's still far easier than being swarmed by reinforcements. I got through the map without triggering any reinforcements (barring the 4th quadrant, but I didn't care about Vaida's spawns because lol merlinus) and the map felt a lot easier as a result.
    Even after years of playing this game this video proves I still have much to learn.

    Coming here after my ironman run ended on T3 from Pent dying. He got hit once T1, then on T2 he didn't use elixir and died T3.
    I kinda want to do another ironman attempt but its really infuriating to lose to something I had no control over.

      My condolences. In my last HHM playthrough (thankfully, not ironman), Pent died on TURN 1. All the wyverns hit him and he died. Given that experience, I completely understand your pain, even though I had it even worse :D

    Something which has tripped me up on one occasion, because the player only acquires one in the preceeding chapters 32/32x and thus is unfamiliar, is that the fortify staff heals all allies within the vicinity but not the staff user itself. It is easy to missinterpret the description of "all allies (nearby)", forget, and lose that staff user.

      It’s why I love Berserkers, especially my man Dart. Pure water (for status staves), stand on a mountain with a hand axe (probably want 2) and kill like 15 Valkyries & monks every enemy phase without getting touched. You probably crit half of them too

    Broke: Follow Mekkah’s sound advice for The Berserker
    Woke: Bring Matthew to parallel Chapter 11

    • @paulovictorbarros3822
      @paulovictorbarros3822 6 месяцев назад

      This is an insteresting concept, you should have the fell contract ready from the chapter before for Matthew and the foresight to train him to level 20, not an easy task I might add, and then maybe kill Sonya to gain a level or something before the big showdown against the berserker and his thieves.

  • @mattdeluccia153
    @mattdeluccia153 7 месяцев назад

    The Valkyries in Cog of Destiny are the #1 reason I think Dart is the most underrated unit in the game. If you train him and get average speed growth, he’ll double & quickly delete all of the Valkyries on enemy phase if you put him on a mountain with a hand axe. Just watch out for status staves. Pure water basically solves that issue though.

    Did you mention the 30 Magic aggressive Druids in Cog of Destiny next to Lloyd/Linus with status staves and Luna? They're the most dangerous enemies on the map. You want to stay out of their staff range until you can pull them in a way where you have restore uses (make SURE you buy another couple of Restore in FFO, FE7 sucks in terms of restore staff availability). IIRC they have Eclipse and Luna so you want to bait Eclipse and then kill them before they equip Luna to avoid disaster.

  • @BlueLuck17
    @BlueLuck17 Год назад +2

    With statuses I think it's technically possible to change them without waiting them out or using a restore staff. One time my Louise get hit by a sleep staff and then later got hit by a poison weapon and was poisoned. I don't know if I could have moved after that turned because she died to the poison at the start of my turn. This is normally irrelevant but it's a weird thing that happened to me once and I wonder if anyone else had this happen

    • @aclashoffireandice4084
      @aclashoffireandice4084 Год назад +2

      Yes, Mekkah and kirbymastah discuss this in C31 of dondon's 0% run: poison can overwrite other statuses. It's a pretty niche tip, though.
