- The Honda Pilot received a full redesign bringing many changes for the 2023 model year. Those changes carry over to the 2024 model year. The Pilot features five trim levels to choose from with base prices ranging between a low of $37,090 and a high of $52,480. We got our new 2023 EX-L and it’s amazing! We love the vehicle but what we don’t love is that it does not come with the bigger size infotainment system
I think that's the only thing Honda has been poor at is keeping up with the competition when it comes to infotainment systems. They're a bit behind.
I test drove the grand highlander and it has a lot bigger screen. The problem is that the aspect ratio is more rectangular which causes the map to zoom in too far. It was like the map loaded for a standard ratio screen but only showed the central sliver of it. So bigger isn’t always better. The aspect ratio of the pilot is similar to normal screens which Apple CarPlay seems to like better. The pilot also has some other nice details like it quiets the fan down when using voice controls which really helps when asking Siri for directions.
I’m waiting for my 24 pilot to come in, it is supposed to be built before Tuesday. The wait is killing be!

Great review Tom! I own 2020 Pilot EX-L and considering a new 2024 Pilot Touring. Do you find the EX-L rides smoother on its 18 inch wheels than on 19 or 20 inch the higher trims come with?
That push button shifter could be the deal breaker for me.
I agree why they have that. In an emergency you wont have time to look or press a button. What is you lose power how will you put car in neutral. so dumb, give me the shifter.
Nice car but not crazy about the pop up looking center screen. Like the screens that look like they wrap around extension from the dash
Yep hate pop up screens on vehicles today. Integrate into dash as it looks much cleaner. Pop up screens distract and take away from your view.

Hi, when hybrid option is available for honda pilot?
we just lost our 2010 pilot touring in a rear end collision. 125k miles in excellent shape. insurance paid $9625. we have been waiting for the 24s to come out. trying to decide which model to get. it's between the exl, touring, or elite. i don't really care for the giant sun roof so that limits us to the exl. we hardly ever used ours. i also don't care for the weird shifter and the powered e brake. looks like the rear hatch glass is fixed. ours opened up if you didn't want to raise the hatch. i intend to by pass the vcm system. also not a fan of direct injection. overall they have restored the pilot back to the box shape which i like much better. they messed it up when they tried to make it look like a mini van. your video is excellent.
I think it should come with ventilated seats and sunroof for the price that's out there
Great review Tom. The 2024 Honda Pilot EX-L is the same as the 2023 model year. Any news from Honda regarding the next Generation Odyssey Minivan? Speaking about folding the 2nd and 3rd row seats, there is no option to stow the seats into the floor just like on the Odyssey.
I believe it's a reasonable price for this vehicle. The local Honda dealers near me have added an additional 4 thousand dollars to the window sticker price. I might have to shop around for a different vehicle.
Definitely shop around, I found a dealer that took 900 off msrp for an EX-L, just be patient

They needed to increase infotainment screen and put real exhaust thru fake vents. They would b a big hit
Rear wiper should be up above rear window. They cheaped out on this feature.
Great review very thorough. Two questions: Does the engine turn off when you come to a complete stop? If yes, is there a button to turn it off. 2: How is cabin noise level at highway speeds?
There’s a disable button, cabin noise seems quiet to me but that’s best to leave for a test drive
You should put the hazard lights on The traffic looks crazy.
i wish they still make an EX, i prefer cloth. the LX has cloth but has less features and the Sport has a black interior
Nice but I wish the interior is all black or dark gray…. And the seats can come with options colors.

@VehicleVisionary According to 2024 Owners Manual posted they have changed some of the USB charging ports from 2023.

some reports they had cylinder solecoid broken after thousand miles and has engine to be replaced. havw you heard of these issues
I have not heard of this issue. I have also seen very few shop up at the dealership where I film for any mechanical issues.

How is the cabin noise on the 2024? Compared to an older Honda Pilot.
I have had 3 different honda models since 2020 and the road noice is/was awful in all of them. I have a hard time hearing my kids from the back seat when we are on the interstate. Just got our 2024 pilot yesterday, it’s the same. That’s really the only thing I’m disappointed with so far.

Yes of course and this vehicle is my choice.

The EX-L has it standard but the LX does not, same goes for the power rear gate.
Too Small information Screen I hope Honda will make it Much Larger soon .

For the price it's okay, but Honda could've given a little more. At least a sunroof and a bigger infotainment screen.
I just bought one... Great car over all, Double head cam is very smooth runs, Lots of power, comptable drive, more room than 4runer, its a SUV so it not like a van, some noices road tire expectancy. Can't go wrong with 41K on EX-L.

Captain chairs in a family suv = FAIL, push button transmission instead of stick = FAIL , Only thing good is the V6 . New 24’s have 4v and captain chairs good luck
