Steven Brow sorry to hear your grandad passed away sometime ago 🌖 I remember this one liked D/N a lot . How time passes by ,like the blink of an eye . God Bless . It’s nice when someone like yourself puts a nice memory of him & it’s genuine 🤩🤩
Innocent comedy? The first thing he did when he came on stage was proposition a guy in the front row then make several innuendoes about gay sex 😂 Oh to be ignorant 🤣
@@jackn5117 One of my first jobs as a chip that.. It was out Whitwick way, Coalville , that way on... I think he might've lived with his mam but he wasn't there when we were.
I lived in a town in the suburbs of Barnsley s.yorkshire, not knowing i lived next door to duncan until one Sunday i was in the local Co-op and he was at the check-out with sunday paper's next in line after me and the cashierssaid when serving him good morning duncan to which he replied "chase me" so i thought idiot .and when i looked to this fool by the side of and remembered the face and it wS Duncan Norvell from the television shows.
I saw him at The Place in Hanley years ago, my mate and I were sat in the front row with our girlfriends. He was doing his “chase me” and “ooh, form a circle” routine when he twigged that I might be taking the piss, so he reached down and grabbed the pack of ciggies on the table in front of me, and started dishing them out to the audience. When he returned with the empty packet he held out the microphone and said “there you are, what do you think of that?” “Not much,” I said, pointing to my mate sitting nearby. “They’re his.” I got more laughs than him, and he didn’t come near us again.
It's all about the live experience. You don't get an accurate appreciation of how funny he was on the couple of clips that are on Y/T. He was Absolutely relentless live. He never gave his audience time to recover. And his gimmick was incredibly groundbreaking, back then in the eighties. He really was at the top of his game.
I don't really remember this guy, as at this time I was starting my social life as an 18 year old, not watching tv. When I first watched this the other day, I thought it was just silly... then I realised... that was the whole point... Anyway, I am sure Mr Norvelle had a pretty good time at his peak.. My mum had a stroke. So I relate to how that must have affected him. 👍
I seen the same skinheads!! In the same chippy! With the same hairstyle! And they are the same boy's, and the back of their trousers and the front, were covered in batter

He might be bisexual. It’s a comedy act in any case, and in the 70’s and 80’s ‘pretending but not actually’ was about as far as you could go with it before society had a meltdown.
Christopher Drennan. I worked with him in Manchester. Part of an on-stage band ... Fell off the stage laughing! Literally! I should have suggested that he keep it in the act!
Weve all forgotten how good this bloke was .rip duncan norville.❤

Good old Ted Rogers, even with the cheesey wink, but he was a great host.
Still funnier than some shite they show on tv now. It was comedy for a different era
