My cats LOVE catnip. Most of them veg out and fall asleep. But one of my cats is a "mean drunk." I keep him apart from the other cats when I give him catnip. I buy it and I grow it. I have to barricade the indoor plants when I grow them. It's quite funny, I think my cats enjoy the challenge of bypassing my barricades. One of my cats is particularly addicted to the stuff though. A few years ago he bit through a plastic bag and ate a huge amount of catnip. He couldn't urinate as a result. We had to take him to the vet to get better. I now make sure the catnip is in a jar. And he still LOVES the stuff.
I will use it on a toy for my blind cat can enjoy bunny kicks and it's heart warming for me to watch him having fun 🐈💞 I didn't know all the ways of using it... So thank you for sharing 💞
A few years ago, I grew catnip in my backyard. In those days, I had a semi-feral friend named Shadow. She was a TNR (trap/neuter/release) kitty who came 'round every afternoon to visit me. She found me siting in my backyard. She would hop up on my lap to get petted and to "chat" with me. She was unusually vocal. When she wasn't sitting on me, she'd roll about on my catnip bush. She almost killed it. Shadow died years ago. I found her body lying on the sidewalk at the edge of my property. I buried her in my backyard. To this day, I miss her.
I like to give them fresh catnip which I call happy salad. I have jars of dry, powdered catnip which they get for Christmas. I also have been given catnip bubbles. They love them. My Tanner, upper left loves to chase after catnip bubbles. Love your channel! Thanks for the info 😸
Very good information. I have never given Jerry and Kramer Catnip, but I might try it since they are in their golden years. I could never find good information about Catnip, but you are a trusted source of information!
Thanks for sharing your video and your advice on Catnip. I like to Catnip my cats as a treat before I leave the house for hours to let them relax🙏 Prayers appreciated for my adenocarcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis. HUGS and GOD bless us everyone

Great info. I didn't know you could sprinkle it on food. She tends to grow tired of the dry food when it's a couple of weeks old, so I will try that to hopefully give the food a new tasty twist. I grow catnip in the winter time in my home, because she likes to eat a bit of grass in the summer. She does not go outside in the winter (and the grass is under 3 feet of snow of course)
I grow ample Catnip for my friends. I like to rub fresh nip on a kicker and their cat trees. An occasional dose of fresh leaves is always well received.
I planted catnip for my cats a couple of years ago. While my cats are indoor only there are several indoor/outdoor cats in the neighborhood. As a result, catnip plants have sprung up all over the yard. I think someone is eating the buds and putting down the seeds with free fertilizer. LOL It does help a couple of them when I put it in the carrier to go to the vet.
The difference of the live wire versus sedate behaviour actually comes down to scent gives live wire but if they are able to ingest it causes the sedate behaviour as well. Not all cats react to catnip but may react to honeysuckle or silver vine which have active behaviours. Silver Vine in stick form also has an interesting affect on dental health too.
Safe to mention, catnip comes in a few varieties. Some cats will enjoy the Canadian one and not the others, while others may enjoy the Japanese one and not the others. Try your cat with all varieties and see which one it prefers. Also....only 30% of cats will have the gene responsible for the reaction to catnip.😉 But try the cat with all catnip varieties before you conclude it does not have the gene.
The big box pet stores sell it in boxes next to the cat grass. I’m concerned about buying one & just occasionally giving them a clipping. I know my cats & they’ll eat it. If I’m hearing this video right that’s just putting a stomach ache on the table. I’ll try a toy
i want to know why cat hate catnip... both my cat hate catnip... my male cat run away as he smell catnip while my female cat not intrested in catnip at all... she just come, sniff than walk away...

Your concerns are why I bought organic plants and potting soil to grow my own. I built a kind of mini greenhouse so it doesn't get attacked.
@@angelachouinard4581 I ended buying a couple toys. I think it was pet supplies plus that we found an official branded Lambchops catnip toy.
