Thanks for the videos! They were remarkably clear, especially if you already know the basic terms and mechanics of spinning. I didn't think it possible to spin cotton suspended only based on what little knowledge I had, along with my apprehension as I am about to spin cotton. Just by watching your steps I understand what conditions cotton needs to be spun, and if you can meet those conditions in suspension then you can achieve it, and it's very clear how. Thanks for making this available to us!

I want you to know five years later your videos are still proving very helpful to the newbies. The little figure eight winding trick is especially useful!

Abby, that's great! Very clear, good demonstration, your voice is clear and professional, I wish I could speak so well.
The subtitles are easy to read, and this time they don't rush through the screen.
    And I luvz the kitty!

Thank you so much for posting these two videos especially. I thought I was doing it completely wrong because I kept getitng the slubs. I'm so grateful that you taught us how to deal with that! I still love your pencil spindle method the best! It is so convenient and works well plying yarn. I hope I can perfect my use of that method to spin my fresh picked cotton. You are a brilliant woman!

This is so very helpful! 10 years later and this is still super helpful for people. Thank you! Also, I know this is a long time later, and you may not still be monitoring comments, but if you are, do you have any suggestions for long drafting? I have problems with long draw.

Hi Abby, Thanks for your great instruction! I've looked through your videos and I cant find how to remove the yarn from the spindle after you're finished. Do you have to wind it off a little at a time, or will it pull off in a ball? Thanks

You make it look way too easy. I'm still unsure how you would change the single's thickness though. It seems like as you draft and let twist in, it always settles on a certain thickness where it gets uniform, and drafting slower just adds more slubs that end up evening out to that same thickness instead of making the whole thing thicker
