I loved this video so much!! It feels like your old videos!!!! Thank you, Kimmy!!!! This was literally on my mind the other day. I have missed your DITL videos so much, and this was just awesome!!! 🩷🩷🩷
I learned this tip on America’s test kitchen for potato salad. When my diced potatoes are still hot/warm I add mustard and dill pickle juice, then put in fridge to cool. When I make the rest I mix the add-ins (like celery, onion, pickles) with mayo and sometimes a little sour cream and seasonings. I add to the chilled and “marinated” potatoes. Gives the potatoes so much flavor. 😁
There is another way for potato salad I do every so often for a change, and that is to use leftover mash potatoes for a potato salad, and add chopped cooked, green beans (or peas) to it along with all the other ingredients for a regular potato salad. Really delicious.
For my potato salad, I use; Dijon mustard, mayo, finely chopped celery, paprika, salt, pepper, parsley and onion powder. Sometimes, I will modify it slightly but that's always my go to base recipe.
We are in celebration mode today Kimmy my daughter is 40 today so I have been really busy over the past 4 days, baking, pumping balloons, making a balloon arch, making sweet treats and flower gifts with Bobo balloons making hot air balloons, wrapping gifts decorating the house and garden as a surprise for my daughter. tonight we are having steak with all the trimmings, Eton mess, and yummy birthday cake. loved the video I often make bread and cookies, and muffins. The other day I made my own Jam. Love to all xxx
I cook the potatoes in my pressure cooker. Also, when the eggs are going to be cut up I go ahead and crack them into a pan that fits in the pressure cooker and cook same as eggs in the shell. When done you don't have to peel eggs, just cut them up right in the pan and dump into potatoes salad. I always use half mayo/half sour cream in my potato salad.
My potato salad: chunk up red potatoes (peels on!), green pepper, red onion, cooked chopped bacon. Mix a dressing of sour cream, mayo, salt, and pepper.
I like potato, onion, celery, dill pickles and the surprise is chopped red radishes to add color and crunch, eggs. Also pickle juice, mustard and mayonnaise. After mixing all together I sprinkle paprika for color.
So funny thing, my mom and her sister have like opposite potato salad recipes! My aunt’s has dill pickles, red onion, black olives, hard boiled eggs, and those tiny canned shrimp. My mom’s has sweet pickles, sweet onion, and celery. Both have mayonnaise with some seasonings as the dressing, and if you ask me, both are delicious!
potato salad is my "signature dish" in my family.. I generally put in green onions, hard boiled eggs and chopped radishes if I have some. My kids don't like onions much so that's why the green onions. If I'm making for a potluck I do finely chopped white onion too. The dressing is Mayo, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, a little sugar , pepper and dill.
Yummy recipes! Have you ever heard about under deck drainage systems? They are basically sheets of vinyl/pvc attached under the desk to run the rain water off to a gutter system (like a ceiling for under the deck space) and down a down spout so when it rains it keeps the area under the deck dry..... There a so many types, google to check them out....
I have made the Jell-o salad a lot and never thought to put coconut in it. Sounds good! Since I don't like raspberry, I have made it with both orange (add chopped up mandarin oranges) and strawberry (add chopped strawberries and sprinkle chopped pecans on top). Your meal looks so good, especially "dessert"! Hot homemade bread with butter and homemade jam? Perfect!
Growing up, I liked my potato salad warm (not HOT but not chilled). So, my grandmother would mix it up and leave me some in a dish on the counter until mealtime. I never got sick (I also preferred ery little mayo) eating room-temperature mayo LOL As I got older, my tastes changed and I knew to refrigerate mayo-based dishes. Yours looks delicious!
When I make my potato salad, I put the peeled and cut up potatoes in a large bowl. Everything else goes in a smaller bowl as I make my sauce. Having all the chunky bits mixed in with the liquid ingredients gives me a better idea of the amount of sauce that I will need and the consistency of it. Once I'm happy with the sauce, I add it all to the potatoes, stir and refrigerate.
I follow my grandmother's recipes used to use pimentos mayonnaise two or three eggs and little bit of vinegar for taste God it's good you take care and God bless
I always love all your videos and you should have your own cookbook and I definitely buy it. You inspire me so much and I would love to have pantry and all them freezers like that I know I need to start slow and you should write a book about that too. I have to wait until I get married. I am getting married on July 15 2023 I'm so excited but nervous we are decorating everything ourselfs and doing everything ourselfs except we are buying the food all ready made for us on budget. Thank you for what you do and God bless you and your family. Can't wait until another video 📷....
I put radishes boiled egg, and celery in our potato salad. I don't like onions...I use my grandma's recipe for the sauce part..I'm 77 so you know the recipe is old.😊My family loves it!
My family’s favourite potato salad is. Potatoes, diced onion, chopped bacon, cheddar cheese cubes. Dressing is Mayo, the fat from the bacon, sour cream, salt and pepper. I too boil the potatoes in the skin. So much easier and better.
Potato salad: Yukon gold potatoes, eggs, diced celery, green onion, colored sweet peppers, radish, Seeded cucumber. Dressing: miracle whip, mustard, SWEET pickle juice, little sugar. I like it with pepper Love your video
I started typing what I put in my potato salad, but I realized it’s pretty much exactly how you make yours, lol. Only difference is I do put sweet pickle relish rather than dill pickle relish. Sometimes I’ll put a little fresh dill in there though.
I usually use a small bunch of dill, a large handfull of basil, bunch of mint all well chopped. For dressing I use mayo with a little sour cream and some white wine vinegar to thin it a little. To this I add some garlic salt. Mix it all together with the potatoes very gently. It's the way my mother used to make it. It's so fresh and delicious on a hot summers day (even though I am in the middle of winter ATM!)
Tea Eggs: love them in Ramen. with a little char shiu. Takes a couple of hours but so worth it! Made 7 today, they will be ready in about 3 days, best by 4 or 5, marinated in the fridge. Yum!
I make my grandma's potato salad recipe, which is nearly the same as yours. I add the pickles, celery, potatoes, egg, mustard, mayo, and onion. But then I add a splash of vinegar and salt and pepper.
my potato sald is similar to yours, except: i prefer red potatoes and leave on the skin, and i pour vinegar on the potatoes while they are still warm so they absorb the tang. then i use similar additions and add celery salt with the pickles, celery and onion, sometimes i add some very finely chopped red pepper.
We have a fire pit/hang out area too. My husband and I just sit after work and enjoy it. We then get up and go to the garden, but we sit and enjoy once we are together after work. You need that down time. Great video. I shop my shelves too. Shop the sales to save. That is how we will fight the inflation to come. P.S. watching again as I do dishes and make lunches for tomorrow. We New Englanders need to stick together. :)
I make what we call confetti potato salad. In addition to your yummy ingredients I slice green olives, chopped sweet pepper (any.color), crumbled bacon and make the dressing using mayo, white vinegar, alittle sugar, mustard, then add the hard cooked eggs, alittle pickle juice and I think that's about it. I top it with a sweet pepper ring, and inside the ring a slice of the egg and top off with a green olive My dear Mom and her Mom's recipe and all eyeballed like yours. Sooo good! Thanks so much for sharing!! God bless!!
I make my own bread, buns, bagels, and English muffins. I have so much by not buying these items at the grocery store. All of the food you make looked yum o if only there were smell-o-vision, so we all could smell the wonderful aromas.😃
I put in chunks of boiled potatoes, large chunks of diced boiled eggs, celery, sweet pickles, Mayo not Miracle Whip, mustard, salt, pepper, paprika on top. Sweet not dill pickles, no onion but if I have chives I’ll sprinkle a little on top. I like your boiling potatoes with skin on idea.
My potato salad is small potatoes cooked in pressure cooker. Bacon sliced thinly across the rasher then cooked till crispy. Boiled eggs sliced. Finely sliced shallots and parsley or whatever herbs to taste. My dressing condensed milk, mayonnaise, sour cream and apple cider vinegar sometimes I add curry powder to it mostly just have without.
I had no idea you could smoke bread!!! I absolutely love that and definitely going to try it. I also love that you put sugar in the water for your corn. I grew up with my mom doing that, and everyone thinks it's so weird. Thanks for this wonderful video.
My mom made a potato salad similar to yours using russet potatoes always. I don't think she ever allowed a red potato in our house! She would cut up onion and use hard-boiled eggs but she would take the yellow part of the eggs and mix it in with the mayonnaise and mustard to make the dressing for the potato salad. She would cut the white parts of eggs up into small pieces and add them in with the potatoes and onions. I don't recall her ever putting pickles or pickle juice in our version of potato salad. I think it's funny that every family seems to have their own potato salad recipe. I wanted to pass along to a tip regarding corn on the cob. If you want to make it really quick and don't want to take the time for water to boil, take out a 9 x 9 or 9 x 13 baking dish and fill it with about an inch of water. Put your corn on the cob in the pan and cover with plastic wrap, pulling back one corner to vent. Cook it on high for 5 minutes in the microwave and you will have perfectly done corn on the cob. Just be very careful when removing the plastic wrap as it is extremely hot! I use that same method for making fresh asparagus in the microwave as well. With asparagus you have to be careful on the cooking time depending upon the diameter of the asparagus spears. The very small apears may only take a minute or minute and a half to cook depending upon how well done you like your asparagus. Just a tip in case you wanted to save a little bit of time with some of your vegetables in the summer.
This is a great video. Worth watching. My favorite moment in this video is the breadmaking and the finished product. I think Kim has it all down to a science of her own making. She's been breadmaking for a long time.
Hi there Kimmy! Loved the video 😁. Everything looked so good. I’ve never had smoked bread but it looked like it was delicious. Boston did such a good job with the lights💡👍🏻. My son has them too and it adds such a nice ambiance 😊. Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
Boiling a whole potato for salad causes them to hang on to the starch. So, I find them sticky and starchy. However, they are great for fried potatoes boiled first and peeling them is a breeze.
Kimmy!! I washed my sheets today, and I made my bed. I'm in my 40s and I still have all my stuffies (that's the term my nephew uses "my stuffies". I have dishes to do tonight I think. I did Instacart today. My one cousin, she collects stuffed animals, I'm sure she easily has one hundred.
Hey Kimmy, my potato salad is very basic, it's potato, onion, mayo, salt, cracked black pepper and flat leafed parsley, it's also delish if the spuds are still slightly warm, yum!
I would love to make your bread recipe. Can you post the link? I couldn't find it on your description under the video but maybe I am blind - LOL. I have two loaf pans so hopefully I can figure out how to adjust the recipe a bit. Thanks Kimmy!
Love the red potato salad bowl. Is it PW or where did you get it. I love potato salad I’ve always boiled them this way. The jello dessert looks awesome. I’ll need to try it. Great to see all the energy.
If you don’t use all the potatoes, let them cool. Dice up put in skillet with couple tablespoons butter, onion, jalapeños peppers salt and pepper to taste. Fry up have country hash browns😋 (don’t have peel potatoes)
You could add all the sauce ingredients to that almost finished mayo container and shake them well. i would add some Greek yogurt as well instead of more mayo.
Hi Kimmy! I truly enjoyed this video. Your potato salad looks delicious! ☺️ I typically put eggs, mayo, sweet relish, mustard, red peppers, salt & black pepper in my potato salad. It is SO yummy!!

Potato salad- raisins, green onion, egg, pickle, apple, potato, ham
Pineapple, garlic, onion, Mayo, bacon, potatoes, yummy yum 😋😋❤
I put eggs, miracle whip, sweet relish, onion, mustard, and celery seed in my potato salad. My Grandma and mom loves it that way.

Toasted coconut on the side and everyone can sprinkle on top of their own serving. I love toasted coconut!

Next time your hitting the end of your mayo jar…put all your ingredients together in the mayo jar, then lid & shake it. It cleans out your mayo jar ❤️
Great idea!!

Love everything you made. Great meal to start the summer. Blessings ❤️🌺
Great video....love the different tips😊
Awesome video, thanks 👍👍👍
Hi there Kimmy! Loved the video 😁. Everything looked so good. I’ve never had smoked bread but it looked like it was delicious. Boston did such a good job with the lights💡👍🏻. My son has them too and it adds such a nice ambiance 😊. Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
The jello salad you should also add in not only the coconut, but mini marshmallows as well!!
Boiling a whole potato for salad causes them to hang on to the starch. So, I find them sticky and starchy. However, they are great for fried potatoes boiled first and peeling them is a breeze.
That bread looks delicious 😋
I've made brownies in the smoker. SO good! Great video. Thank you
Sounds great!

Thanks so much for sharing the bread recipe. How long did you smoke the one bread loaf and what temperature. What a great idea!
I use sweet pickle relish and celery besides the eggs. I only use Mayo. No mustard.
I would love to make your bread recipe. Can you post the link? I couldn't find it on your description under the video but maybe I am blind - LOL. I have two loaf pans so hopefully I can figure out how to adjust the recipe a bit. Thanks Kimmy!
A girl after my own heart. I love love love Brie cheese
It’s a bad addiction 🤣🤪
Love the red potato salad bowl. Is it PW or where did you get it. I love potato salad I’ve always boiled them this way. The jello dessert looks awesome. I’ll need to try it. Great to see all the energy.

Love your channel! ❤ Could you possibly post links to your bread machine and those cool loaf pans [stainless steel?]? Thanks!
I have never made jam or jelly sounds yum xx
I think the first bowl of potato salad is the best! The price of mayonnaise is Rediculous right now so you’re smart stocking up when it’s on sale.
Yeah for recipes again!!!!
More to come!
My potato salad is potatoes eggs green onion and Miracle Whip.
Hi Kimmy! I truly enjoyed this video. Your potato salad looks delicious! ☺️ I typically put eggs, mayo, sweet relish, mustard, red peppers, salt & black pepper in my potato salad. It is SO yummy!!
I use bell pepper instead of celery. It’s really good.
Yum!
What what what with the potatoes. OMG I love potatoes and I LOOOOATHE all the peeling and chopping. This is a game changer
Yummy 😋❤
Yummy now I want potato salad! And no sweet pickles or anything sweet in mine either. Lol. Loved the video
The potato salad looked amazing & the jelly salad looked lovely.
I wouldn’t add coconut to mine tho, as I detest coconut in any form. Even the smell makes me feel sick.
Just curious, do the different coloured onions taste the same or are some stronger than the others?
It was lovely to see Paige. I really miss seeing her in your videos.
What temp and for how long were the burgers in the smoker? Our bar-be-que is on the fritz, so I am thrilled to learn to make burgers on the smoker. Thank you.
I put my potatoes in my instapot the night before. I do the eggs the next morning. LOL That way the potatoes cool completely down overnight.
Try milk in with corn it makes it creamy
I loved this Kimmi, thank you.
I put in potatoes, hard boiled eggs., pickles, olives, Mayo, mustard, salt and pepper. I tried to change it once but I go boos from everyone.
Kimmie, i know you've had that Bosch mixer FOREVER (LOL) but do you know if they still make that model?🥰🥰
How long do you boil your whole potatoes?
I can’t have raw onions so my potato salad has onion powder, mayo, dill relish, sweet relish, diced celery, diced green pepper, mustard, salt, pepper, dill seasoning, and paprika. Mixed all together- with the paprika sprinkled on top. I also don’t like boiled eggs
Sorry, had a phone glitch, didn't intend to post the same response 3 times.
I use eggs mayo vinegar sugar
