Informative video. I’ve been waiting 15 months for my partner visa. My wife and I have been together 11 years, married for 8 and 4 children together. The frustrating thing about the process is they don’t give you any updates. Feeling left in the dark. I have a criminal record when when I was late teens, 20 years ago. That is slowing it down I think

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! I had a question that was not covered: Once the subclass 309 is granted, and the visa holder enters Australia, is there a minimum time period the visa holder must remain in the country for the visa to remain valid? For example, an American is granted the subclass 309, enters Australia, but then receives a job opportunity back in the US, and they return home to the US for 18 months. Are they then eligible to return back to Australia using their 309, or does the 309 expire or become invalid if the individual resides outside of Australia for such an extended period of time? Thank you again!

The quality of relationships will for sure deteriorate with this kind of long 39months processing period to be together . Very unrealistic and irrational. Added unnecessarily stress and strain and delaying family planning. This is cruel and social unjust to separate genuine relationships. 39 months one can get PHD and pop 2 rounds of babies already. 1 year 8 months seperation already so many fights occurred.

Hi, my partner is in France and coming to Australia in June. We are deciding whether to apply now overseas for an 309 or wait for her to arrive, get her on the tourist then- bridging then- 820 visa. She wants to work as soon as she can.
Is she able to come to australia whilst the 309 is in processing, and work?
Can she work with a bridging visa?
If she can’t come to australia while the 309 is processing, better option is just wait to do the 820 via tourist and bridging when she arrives.

My long distance partner and I haven't been able to live together, but I will have done 3 week trips to stay with him in the US by the time we apply. Will this be able to be used as financial documentation?
Also, we call pretty often, which has the dates and times recorded on the app; however, all of our daily messaging is done via Snapchat which deletes messages after 24 hours. Other than some random screenshots and our snap streak (which shows that we've been in contact daily for whatever period of time), there's no further evidence of our daily messaging. We can't change the settings to stop it deleting messages either. Will this be a problem, or is some screenshots and our call logs likely to be enough?
