basically changed timing and fuel trim. if you bring torque band up a bit you'll have more hp at higher rpm. I doubt it was 20 hp but most chips will make a difference. this type of tuning is actually pretty fun makes me want to get into carbs.
iamboardfb it's common for 328's to do that. My 328 with S52 cams and a few other bolt ons did that. The rev limiter would just hang there rather than bounce. Kind of annoying
1. Dont need to remove screws (He did) 2. Dont need to use screwdriver to remove white plastic cover (he did) 3. Note the direction of the chip. There are markings on it. (He didnt) 4. Remove carefully the chip by lifting it up on BOTH sides carefully (He didnt) 5. Push in the new chip FIRMLY until it bottoms on the chip socket. (He didnt) 6. Done!
I have a chip straight from turner on my 325 and I have to say the butt dyno tells no lie I felt a pretty drastic change around 4-4.5k it kicks a LOT harder :)

The belt for the water pump on my daily/project ripped apart. The spanner flew threw the engine bay and ripped some parts off and now I have to rebuild my little nissan completely. i have bought a few to check them out. i found talking on Bimmer forums that most are copies of the Dynan tune. and other just change timing and SLIGHTLY change the fuel trim. either way, ive ran 3 in my E30 and never an issue. they all worked, and they all made a difference.
How about timing a pull from say 0 to 80 mph and then swapping chips and timing again? Then you would have conclusive evidence. You can also do a pull with the new chip but changing gears at the original rev limit to see if it increases performance regardless of the rev limit increase.
both videos bank off the factory ECU's rev limit at 7k rpm..... y cant anyone else see that... if you compare both videos side by side it will prove its a waste of money... when i decided to tune my veloster it cost me 800$ (extra ECU tuned ) real tunes equal real gains... changing alot more than just the rev limit....

unbelievable but it works, ive got an ac schnitzer chip, and as I wanted to prove that I'm not trippin balls, i gave the car to a friend, who drove my car before, and didnt tell him what I did, he drove the car for a couple of minutes, and aske me if I changed and how much I lightened the flywheel, (had the stock dualmass 14kg flywheel) I asked why he thinks so, "the m50b25 is a little bit sluggish and needs alot to rev up, it kinda feels faster with better throttle response.
So I sit here and watch you do this install and it seemed super simple. So, I in turn try the same. Everything went fine until the car wouldn't start. So, we flipped the chip. Still, no start. We went ahead and put old one back in. No start. Took out, flipped it, still no start. Did some research and found that with the silver label chip we need to delete pin #7 on the large harness near the fuse box. Popped pin out and reconnected harness. Still no start. Any clue as to what the hell is happening. Brain is fried for the night from this. Hahah. New subscriber and enjoying the videos.
The MOT Test is so Strict now in the UK.i don't know if it would pass with new chip! Maybe better that go to professional like M sport.but if you are USA then your be ok with the chip

You need high compression pistons, cams, headers and a custom ECU just to make 260HP on a 2.8, so claiming that this chip could somehow increase power by up to 30hp is optimistic
260hp from a 2.8 would be around a 70hp increase, that's in a completely different league from adding a measly 20hp. Especially on a natural aspirated engine where it's difficult to make power. Now I could genuinely care less if the chip adds power but it easily could. The Dinan chips are proven to consistently add around 10-20hp and this chip has the same coding. Now even if it does add 10/20hp, I don't think you'd really even notice it.
On every one I've seen for my 413 red ecu, it says that 91 octane is the minimum for feul ratings, and i was just wondering if that is what you run in your car, or if it doesnt make a difference between mid grade 89 octane and premium 91 octane

I even went as far as a side by side video comparison... nothing changed ... both vids hit 7000 rpm .. i can hear you reach the ECU's "rev limit" on both videos... no way in hell these things work.... much less add 20-40 hp (like they say on the website) .... believe me i want to be wrong... i wish i could add that much hp for 200$ but thats not how tuning works my friend...this "chip" just makes the car run perfect according to the FACTORY TUNED ecu.... off top i see no higher octane change . A real tune (backed by dyno results) raises the octane level esp if your car has a N/A motor rated for 87oct...boosted cars require atleast 91+ octane
I have a 316i e30 with ecu number Bosch 0 261 200 989. But everywhere i look on ebay i see 0 261 200 174 also a 316i varient. can I use this on mine or should the numbers be exactly the same.

It's probly that hose going from the MAF to the throttle body. The cracks create a vacuum leak that lets unmetered air into the engine, it can completely throw off how the engine runs. It's a really common problem and you should be able to find a cheap replacement on ebay. Hope this helps🖒

hum on a 318i 115hp lol (who wont rev past 3500rpm for unknow reason) (might be a cable harnas problem since i changed engine with a 1995 one and my bmw is 1994 so i kept my ecu. i already swapped all piece of my 2nd 318i still my car runs like shit and the other one still fine.) but does that maybe add power? or only to 6 cylinder ones?

Aye. BMW made those engines run really tame, especially something like the M52B28, which has a tiny little intake manifold to make it breathe less and make less power.

30$ chip is sketchy af... but the tune is definitely worth 20 to 30 hp over a stock BMW chip.
you didn't need to losen the screws on the back of the ecu. you can just pry the tabs up and should come off easily

Obviously e36 because it's cheaper, has more power, and you don't have to deal with no turd KA truck motor. You can't go wrong either way though☺
240SX if you have anything other than a KA
If you can only find KA 240s then get the 36

Nah, it does work since BMW's tune is very conservative. Intake, cat back exhaust, and this chip are definitely worth the effort of these cars.
Aye. BMW made those engines run really tame, especially something like the M52B28, which has a tiny little intake manifold to make it breathe less and make less power.
Does it use more gas after that?
