Beautiful story. I am a proud owner of a Perdix AI and I can say it Makes my dives easy, safer and More enjoyable! Thank You Shearwater for putting out an amazing products.
Great story! Couldn't think of a better way to "retire"! I have owned many dive computers through the years. My Petrel 1 has been in a class by itself. I just ordered a Perdix AI. I have always preferred an analog compass over any digital I have tried, but I suspect that this is about to change.
I have been on the fence in deciding whether to get the new Perdix as my replacement for the VT3, as luck would have it this past weekend I went diving at Ginnie Springs with a guy that has the Perdix…. Sold! After seeing how brilliantly back lit the display was and how easy it was to read at a glance with great color contrast my decision became quite obvious. I would love to see a recreational dive computer in the future that would allow for AI via a wireless transmitter.
I tried a lot of diving computers (a lot and big brands !!), almost every year I changed computer before to know about Shearwater, my friend and I bought the predator 4 years ago, it is still on our wrist, it is also the only computer I can read without my eyeglasses, it means I can change my mask without buying special lens ! Oh, and by the way, Shearwater has the best consumers service in the world ... hands down and by far !! In the dive center when we speak about a computer, I always said: "there is only one computer to dive with > it's Shearwater !! it's also the only computer you can fully set up underwater when you need to change your plan" .
Currently the best dive computers in the world, hands down. Made in Canada, well priced, simple, and reliable. If you try one, you will probably buy one.
Hi, I was wondering, in what application and circumstances would a diver be required to decompress for an hour before surfacing? It just seems like a really high number
It is quite common for technical divers to accumulate 60 minutes of decompression obligation or more. I guess the more direct way to answer your question is to point you out to a brief synopsis of dive I published on Facebook some time ago: facebook.com/gabriel.pineda/notes?lst=733631340%3A733631340%3A1508452191. You'll read about the application and circumstances of a dive that required 54 minutes of decompression. This is quite typical. The only reason I don't point you out to a more recent example is because this one is already written up.
Got my Shearwater PERDIX last week. Can´t wait to dive with it. Great !
Best diving computers in the market, by far!

Great story. THAT is why I bought the Perdix AI.
The Perdix price in NLD is € 880,00 . Perdix AI cost € 999,00, and with the transmitter € 1.250,00. Please lower those prices Shearwater in EU.
You don´t need a Transmitter, trust me. Better with the manometer. Perdix alone I paid less than US$ 700,00. Look more you ´ll find it.
Sold. My next computer is shearwater

Platinum SCUBA They should have special export prices. 1330 usd excl vpm for a Perdix AI set in the EU.
