TTS , Gas remaining and depth are vital, thats what you really have to control in any dive. NDL if you are not in a tech dive. I like to see %GF GFsurf to check if I'm doing something in 5meter safety stop or to see if I need to go to 3 meters.

Hi Perez, very handy guide on pedrix menus! Thank you.
What I would like to know is how to select which gas is the travel gas, which is the bottom gas and which is used for decompression. Also will the Perdix alert me about upcoming gas switch … say I was diving on air to 40m went into deco and on the ascent will it prompt to switch over to the deco gas when I reach my switch over stop? or is it down to the diver to remember and track the depth?
Also in regards to ascent / descent rates are there any alerts even if the ascent rate per minute is not selected for any of the available display rows?
I would like to see the video how it gets to the deco, gas switchover and how it display the next deco stop.

Selecting a gas during a dive (or prior to a dive) is simple and easy. You have 2 style options: the classic and the new style. You can change the style in the settings -> adv config 1. For images of the styles, check the manual, page 50. How you change the gas is affected by the option. I use the new style as i think it is easy to navigate.
The dive computer will provide information that there is a better gas for you to use at that depth (assuming you have other gases on in the OC Gases or Select Gas menu). However, you should not rely on the dive computer for this. You should know what gas switches you need to do and when. This should be part of your dive planning. I would not rely on the computer to tell me what gas to use and when to change. This, of course, unless I'm not following my dive plan (or backup dive plan).
Regarding the ascent rate, it will be shown next to the depth with arrows, regardless if you have not configured it in a row. For me, having it in a row is easy to see. Instead of having arrows that I need to decrypt what it means, I have numbers that are much easier to read than arrows-check page 13 of the manual.
also, have a look at this Shearwater video that provides some general dry demo on the gas changes - ruclips.net/video/dQiJTpU8fws/видео.html
I'll be creating a video about the gas switches in the near future. Keep an eye on the channel.
ps. link for the manual: www.shearwater.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Perdix-UserManual-RevE.pdf

Hello, thanks for your videos, please accept constructive criticism from me. Don't read the scripts of your videos, prepare your speech beforehand and make it like a conversation, that looks natural, relaxed and friendly. It will give you better results. It is very important that you look at the camera.
