I was going to say, this is exactly what it felt like driving the Nordschleife for the first time in Gran Turismo 3 when I was 6-8 years old. I couldn't believe how long it was. There was no way I could master it, especially in more than one car, you need to understand driving dynamics and grip to master that track.
It works a little different on a console. PCs have a lot of stuff going on in the background, while consoles focus nearly 100% of their full power on the game itself

I think this is absolutely fascinating actually. This mod has made it extremely visible that they have actually built upon the techniques used in the original release of Gran Turismo 1. The bumping of the vehicle when you go around those extremely sharp turns showcases that it is still utilizing a simplified road geometry in the physics engine. The track loading in piece by piece showcases that it's still using memory "chunk" loading in the engine, allocating only the necessary resources to allow truly huge tracks to be implemented. I think it's great
YES. Take full advantage of computer. I want the sim engine, but creative tracks like this "Skyfall" one. With sim racing game, you could remove gearing, or make a different thing that could be more difficult. Why need windows on the car? It's all textures, plopped onto a 3d model. Make from cockpit, inside out completely transparent. See the track below you 😊
I have had recurring nightmares of driving on ridiculously steep roads like this. This makes me genuinely uncomfortable in a way I wasn't even sure was possible from a mere video. Cool mod though!
it would have been cool if it could be done with sport touring and with Tomahawk technology (it would be the super aerodynamic one and that goes at 650 km / h) and not this version

Occlusion culling is always supposed to remain this hidden element in game development that the gamers are unable to see when it occurs, but seeing it all over this video in its glorious and ridiculous clipping, makes me smile.
