12 Original Tracks from past GT games that are not in Gran Turismo 7
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 14 авг 2024
- Gran Turismo 7 brought back several classic original tracks from past GT games that were missing in GT Sport, with High Speed Ring, Trial Mountain and Deep Forest. However, there are still a lot of original tracks from previous games that have not returned to GT7 so far. Here you can see laps with different cars on 12 original tracks from GT 1-6 that are not available in GT7 at this time. This video specifically covers fictional race tracks and fictional rural tracks that are based on real world locations. It does not include city or rally tracks, as those are covered in separate videos.
Timeline:
0:00 Grand Valley Speedway
2:00 Autumn Ring
3:32 Midfield Raceway
4:54 Apricot Hill Raceway
6:16 Red Rock Valley Speedway
7:37 Motorland
8:43 Cape Ring
11:35 Tahiti Road
12:58 El Capitan
14:42 Grindelwald
16:14 Eiger Nordwand
17:36 Matterhorn
Grand Valley Speedway appeared in every main GT game from GT1 to GT6 and it is one of the most iconic tracks of the franchise. Most games also feature a short version of the track called Grand Valley East.
Autumn Ring was also introduced in GT1 and it returned in GT 2, 4, 5 and 6. There is also a short version called Autumn Ring Mini that is often used for some of the very first races in a GT game.
Midfield Raceway and Apricot Hill Raceway were both introduced in GT2 and then returned in GT 3, 4 and 6.
Red Rock Valley Speedway is one of several tracks that are exclusive to Gran Turismo 2.
Motorland is a track for small cars that is exclusive to GT4. There is also a track called Beginner Course in the same location, which is called Driving Park.
Cape Ring is a large fictional track that is exclusive to the PS3 games GT5 and GT6. There are several different layouts that only use parts of the track.
Tahiti Road is based on the island of Tahiti in the Pacific Ocean, which belongs to France. It is exclusive to GT2.
El Capitan is the name of a giant rock at Yosemite National Park in California and a track that is exclusive to GT4.
Grindelwald, Eiger Nordwand and Matterhorn are all real world locations in the mountains of Switzerland. Grindelwald is a track in GT2, Eiger Nordwand in GT5 and GT6 and Matterhorn in GT6. There are several layouts at Matterhorn and Eiger Nordwand also features several rally tracks.
What are your thoughts and memories of these awesome original tracks from GT 1-6? Which of them would you like to see return in GT7 at some point?

I'm just glad someone mentioned Red Rock Valley Speedway, it's by far the best track that never made it past the PS1. Would've loved to have seen it in GT4 back in the day.
There were recreations of the track in GT6 thanks to the Track Editor (or something like that), but it didn't felt like Red Rock Valley at all because the track editor was somewhat limited and the track looked messed up as a result
YES. RRV is a gem. It's been far too underrepresented.
@@MrGoul78 yep. GT6 Track Editor also recreated some of the past F1 tracks like Avus, Bahrain, Interlagos (different start/finish position), PlayStation Circuit, and even Mystic Plains from NFSUG2.
@@J.Wick. me too miss RRV. Its been my favourite as well.
Grindelwald was my favourite ps1 track, but rrv was a close 2nd, gt2 had a amazing track list
Man I miss soo much Tahiti Road, the beach, the palm trees, the montains, everything was soo fresh and beautiful
Reminds me of Ridge Racer
I take it you are single. 😂😂😂
They need to bring back El Capitan and circuit de Almati for touge things
Ayumu Uehara and Shioriko Mifune also miss Red Rock Valley.
I hope all of these will eventually make a comeback alongside city tracks
Me too 😢
@@wildannandawicaksana5004 me too
City tracks! Like Rome from GT3 for me
Monaco should be a start, but with 2022 urban updates and a proper layout (like what PC2 and 1 did)
Any old city circuits they bring must be updated to 2022 urban updates, like new construction, or even new buildings to make it more immersive to drive in, like a 2022 Seattle, or even 2022 Seoul
@@divecolosio4988 yep. Add also Madrid Circuit, Costa di Amalfi, Tahiti Road, Tahiti Circuit, Tahiti Maze etc.
Gotta give the track designers for GT credit they know how to make a track, most flow so well they that you could say some are even better then real tracks
It's very freeing to create a track without being limited by location, safety or realism. Just all out dream tracks in beautiful locations with amazing architecture.
@@TrolledBy I know RL is highly restricted by location, available land, safety and money, but you got to admire what the GT designer did trying to keep things realistic but also not bound by RL restrictions
Even more so when you take into account where most of the tracks started back on the ps1
@@TrolledBy not to mention local area's restrictions which if broken, the track are to be shut down
@@divecolosio4988 I know hence why I mentioned location
Deep Forest Raceway is seriously the most fun track in any game I've ever played.
I really don't understand why the tracks from GT5 and 6 are not in GT7. What a shame, there's so much great tracks (Silverstone, Cape Ring, Ascari...)
Silverstone is a real life track, and it is possible that PD did not get the license to feature it in GT7
@@Skarfar90 Well if i'm correct this was on GT5 or 6 so Idk what to think about that
Silverstone (& Lotus) wanted too much money to be featured in GT Sport. Silverstone was in financial trouble because of F1 putting up its prices to host races. Lotus was under ownership that had ideas above their station and wanted to pay for 7 new cars in one hit.
Need matterhorn
All these tracks are the reason why I went back playing gt6..so much variety and entertainment that is completely missing in gt7 at the moment, fingers crossed for future tracks updates
Glad that you included the Cape Ring with 6 different layouts! 1+ Sub!
I put way too much time into Cape Ring back when I was 8 or 9, great times
@@EonPlays memories😞😔
Apricot HIll, Grand Valley, Red Rock Valley, Midfield Raceway, El Capitan and Seattle all need to make an appearance...Especially AH, and RRV. Tahiti too while were at it, and Grindelwald. A whole set of Missions including some of these tracks in an Endurance type race would be ideal in my mind. Most bang for the buck.
seattle has to be one of my favorite ever
All of those would be great to see nowadays with modern graphics and physics, but... Grindelwald? I think that they would have to change so many things that it would be only carrying that name... =/
Special Stage 5 and 11.
I miss then |:
Well, you got a wish... Grand Valley is back at last; with somewhat of a face lift ;)
@@mattburkeyI’d honestly still have Grand Valley Speedway back on top of Grand Valley Highway.
What a shame that no more Eiger Nordwand and Matterhorn since GT7.
@@alicunte5624all of the Special Stages are sadly missed. Seemingly replaced by the characterless Tokyo Expressways.
The jump on Eiger Nordwand was always interesting, great track for smaller cars.
My favorites
Eiger is coming back
Aged like Good ol Milk
Its insane how good GT3 and GT4 still look in 2022
The nostalgia when all the lost GT2 tracks came up... Man... Tahiti road, I miss it so much
I was just looking at this having just bought GT7. It’s definitely missing out on some circuits… Red Rock, Original Grand Valley, SS route 5 and 11, Apricot Hill and so on… great video by the way!
Eiger Nordwand and Matterhorn are such beautiful tracks, a shame they are not included in GT7.
i feel like some of these original tracks are way better then the fictional ones nowadays on gt7. Idk probably the nostalgia but they are just so awesome to race on
I do agree with you. A lot of the more modern original tracks, like the ones that were made for GT Sport, just don't seem to compare. I'm not sure what happened
@@kl5_racing251 I think it was some sort of FIA track restriction stuff? since they went all e-sport real racing simulator it seems like they have to dumb down/alter the design of the tracks to 1- fit in a real location and 2- be more realistic as a track - stuff you can notice with how they changed some corners on trial mountain and deep forest.
Apricot Hill is a hell of a track
Midfield raceway was always a favourite of mine. I loved the high speed nature of the track and the hairpin was always tricky as well as getting onto the straight cleanly.
Grand Valley is my absolute Favorite cant wait to have it back
Plus it would double up as two tracks with grand valley East and speedway, last I heard gt7 where gonna bring it back
it would be nice to see all these tracks again in Gran Turismo 7
Yep. We fondly miss all those tracks.
Dlc?
Well, now Grand Valley it's on GT7, hurray
Grand Valley Highway, though. Not Speedway. It’s just not the same.
At Cape Ring in GT5 you could tell a good handling car if you could take the ring flat. I miss Cape Ring SO MUCH.
What a cool video! I've never seen Cape Ring before - what a nice long track! That jump in the middle part - amazing! Matterhorn and Eiger Nordwand would look beautiful in 4k!
My two faves from that list are Midfield raceway cos its simple and kinda fun to get a quick laptime and El Capitan cos just a fun track to drive and very scenic
Omg grand valley speedway! Ibwas constantly telling myself i miss one specific circuit but i couldnt remember which one! This was my favorite circuit back in the day. The other circuits are/were awesome as well, cool video but now you made me nostalgic again
The fact Grand Valley isn’t on GT7 is nothing short of criminal.
Having said that, they absolutely slaughtered Trial Mountain and Deep Forest so I kind of hope it doesn’t return.
I prefer racing games with fictional *and* original tracks than actual real tracks. I am glad that some Gran Turismo games had some original tracks, but they could add some more to the new game, it would be awesome.
There's a place for both. I'm sure a lot of people would rather see real tracks (at least that's a lot of sentiment that I found from a lot of people), but it's a shame that PD decided to forget the original tracks from past games, especially since a lot of them are very good.
Thanks for the great video. Grindelwald reminded me of Forza Motorsport’s Bernese Alps.
Matterhorn gives off that vibe more, no?
Totalmente cierto
The track layout itself is pretty similar. But the setting is different, and located higher in the landscape (Bernese Alps)
Seems like the Swiss Alps is a popular setting for fictional tracks
Eiger Nordwand is my favorite track in the whole series. It's just such a fun little layout to drive with a smaller, more agile car. The pit road is also kind of wild. It just wanders off from the track and into a hilltop campground before rejoining, eventually, at the end of the switchback section.
That moment when GT2 sounds by far the best💀
Glad they finally startet fixing the sounds now!
Hope Tahiti Road make a comeback 🙏
After Grand Valley’s return, I’m glad that we’re also finally getting Eiger Nordwand. I’m hoping some of these tracks will make another return, you’d never know!
If anyone wondered about the fictional city tracks. There were only three recurring tracks that featured full races (6 or more cars), whereas pretty much all of the other city tracks was found in the "Special Conditions" category in GT4, or were standalone full race tracks in GT4. This does also not include the Special Stages (well, I guess I could include Route 11, since it was only featured in the early titles)
Full race tracks:
1. Rome Circuit (GT2 - GT3) + Rome Short (GT2 only)
2. Seattle Circuit (GT2 - GT3 - GT4) + Seattle Short (GT2 only)
3. Tokyo Route 246 (GT3 - GT4 - GT5 - GT6)
Bonus. Special Stage Route 11 (GT1 - original layout + GT3 - altered layout).
Also, I really miss a certain track from GT3: *C O M P L E X S T R I N G*
There are several other city tracks besides those but I don't know why you even bring up that topic here at all. I even specifically asked people to not bring up city tracks because they are not meant to be the topic of this video and then you come here and make a comment that is exactly about those. Are you intentionally trying to be annoying?
@@Paragleiber I don't think Skarfar is trying to be annoying. He just wants to see a few of the classic GT tracks back in GT7 or a future game just like us 😉
@@athank3509 You are wrong. The comment sections on RUclips are moderated by the owners of the individual channels and they can delete comments or block users for any reason they want. There is no free speech here. And what the hell is even your problem? I am simply asking people to keep the comments related to the content of the video. How is that unreasonable?
Well, you can officially scratch Grand Valley from the list 👍
Matterhorn! I loved it, hope it came back in GT7.
The ones on video is the Rotenboden layout. Hopefully the Dristelen and Riffelsee layout also included (since they used different routes, only in few parts though).
Matterhorn always felt like a "WELCOME TO NATIONAL B" because it was the first race you took part in B and was pretty difficult the first time due to sharp corners and unpredictable geometry
All great courses from back in the day. I wish we could see some of them come back. Forgot about getting airborne on Cape Ring. Thanks for sharing.
Tbh, Grand Valley Speedway and Midfield Raceway must be added alongside the rests. But at the same time, PD could re-make those (Midfield & Grand Valley) based on FIA (which I hate so much).
Hoping PD wouldn't modified any old circuits if decide to return
they really should just fucking depart from the fia and have gt academy again
yeah I actually hate the new trial mountain in gt7...
@@whistleblower3949 Looks like they fucked up the last chicane in GT7.
@@EQUAL2 They aren't partnered with FIA anymore because the game was so broken at launch
@@EQUAL2 Yeah I didn't even get a chance to play GT academy
great video brought back a lot of memories, especially GT2 and just how good were the graphics on PS3
This is some great info my friend! Big thumbs up 👍and have an amazing day😃💚🔥
Grand Valley Speedway would be an amazing addition to GT7, both full and East track layouts.
You got your wish, but I doubt it's in the way you hoped
Hopefully some of these tracks come as DLC for GT7. El Capitan, Grand Valley and Autumn Ring were stone cold classics.
There's something about the original tracks in Gran Turismo, so many are so well designed, I always found other racing titles' original tracks to be somewhat lacking in comparison.
Awesome video, thanks so much for sharing. Great memories for a 55 year old who’s owned every playstation and played every Gran Turismo. I can still remember my excitement when I first saw previews of the original back in 1998. I think Ridge Racer was as good as it had got before then 😀So many great courses, and scenery I had forgotten. If that was you driving you are considerably better than me 👏. I wonder how many different tracks there have been in all the GT’s??
Grand Valley is in Gt7 now, and I remember the tunnel just before the straight to the finish line, but where was that tunnel before in any Gran Turismo? Driving through it, I distinctly remember how to do it at high speed, the entry, the little bounce off the left curb, the turning angle, the camber through the exit, but I can't remember which GT it was previously in. Anyone know?
I fondly remember driving on Grand Valley Speedway, Midfield Raceway, Apricot Hill, Autumn Ring and El Capitan on GT PSP, the only GT game I invested time into!
i play it in my Android phone, i have all gold licenses and all Initial D cars
this game have so much potential and amazing graphics and I hate it ;p I just can't understand why they didn't add a career mode and this super stupid system of buying cars from random lists
@@replaynewoldgames because time is short for dev a game
@@elite0497 for me i always replayed it on both Android and PS3.
The hold that Midfield Raceway had on me was unprecedented and only rivaled by Mugello Circuit in the Forza Motorsport series!
the biggest disappoint this video suggest me about GT7 and also GT Sport that i did not noticed befor... is the graphyc engine. I always thoughtthat GT7 ( and Gt Sport too ) had a weir Graphyc engine, a lot of details, but in the same way the 3D structure of the track feels kinda poor, and this video, totally confirm me this feeling. The tracks in all the other GT beside the last 2, make my eyes full and are very satisfying to look, in GT7 and GT Sport, they miss a lot of 3D structure, like they spare a lot ot sources in the develop of the new 3D engine, and look much more similar to classic sim racing from PC, than the peculiar graphyc style that Gran Turismo since the first release, use to bring... GT7 is a very good game for what concern the car handling, but to be honest, for the eyes, iit feels worst then the 2 chapters appeared on Ps3... i don't think is Kazunori Yamauchi himself the responsable of that lack of poligons, but for sure a lot of the people that were in the Poliphony team till those release, are not working for Poliphony anymore, and other programmer been hired for replace them, and you can see the difference in terms of final quality, so not just the lack of tracks, is disappointing me about GT7, but even more the quality of the tracks themselve, maybe even more than the lack... what a waste of opportunity ( even the quality of the replay went badly down... Replays till GT6, were a luxury for the eyes, Replays in GT7, don't give me any emotion , very flat )
Grand Valley is in!
I loved the on-road/off-road iterations of El Capitan & Tahiti. Bringing those two tracks back along with all of the city tracks from gt4 would be too awesome. Peace
Community share so much love for Red Rock Speedway, for me it's also one of the best circuits ever. A bit confusing why they dumped it totally
Red rock and gran Valley
RRV in the TVR speed 12 or no balls...
Jokes aside so many great tracks missed out of the latest title. Special stage doesn't seem to get enough love
El Capitan and Matterhorn are so good tracks I rly wish those were brought back.
agree
sad to see El Capitan isnt in and that its currently a GT4 exclusive track, its one of my favorites!
For me, my favorite original tracks from past GTs are Midfield, Grand Valley, and the Test Course (Although PD did bring back the Test Course in a way with the even bigger Route X 😮)
I liked GV for the tunnels 😊 And Midfield has a first corner complex and a general layout somewhat like Suzuka 😉
And more: Indianapolis, Silverstone, Ascari, Kart Space I e II, Twin Ringmotegi, GT Arena, Tokio R246, London, Madri, Roma, Cote D'Azur, Charmonix, Special Stage Route 5 e 7, ...
Those are other types of tracks that are not the topic of this video. What are your thoughts about the tracks in the video?
@@ParagleiberOk, I agree.
For me the GT6 still is the better game of the franchise.
Hey guys, well I think it is the nostalgic I remember playing the older Gran Turismo games. They have to bring back surely Apricot Hill, Grand Valley in GT7.
I ❤️ Grindelwald track! My fav from all GT games.
Would love to see Red Rock, Grindelwald and El Capitan back. I completelly forgot about MAtterhorn which is great with the right car !
I agree completely with this video , I honestly don't understand why they're missing. All of the previous city circuits are missing... pure laziness in my opinion. This is coming from someone that grew up with GT3 and 4. I adored these tracks.
If el capitan comes to Gt7! It would be amazing!!
I'm sorry, but that turbo noise in Gran Turismo 2 was FREAKIN' EPIC! The one and only...for my, 38 yo, Gran Turismo was, is and always will be the best Gran Turismo in history...
Tahiti Road, El Capitan, Grindelwald and Eiger Nordwand would be just gorgeous on GT7.
Grand Valley, Midfield, Autumn Ring, even Red Rock and El Capitan are Gran Turismo legends, and should've been featured in every game since their release.
Arriving very late^^... But, you forgot some masterpieces such as "Super Stage R11", "Seattle", "Complex String" in GT3, incredible for testing every setting of your cars! ;-)
You are wrong. I didn't forget them at all. Those tracks are simply not the topic of this particular video. Some of them are shown in my video about city tracks though. You can find that one here: ruclips.net/video/fl8iJBicfpM/видео.html
@@Paragleiber Yes I see that after! Sorry ^^
GT6 is still my fav because of the incredible track selection. I hope they will bring back iconic tracks like Autumn Ring, Apricot Hill and Matterhorn for GT7 as well. They already made a good start with the redesigned Grand Valley track which is incredible.
I miss mid field race way cape ring and apricot hill.
3:32 I sure fuckin' miss that one.
If they add some of these back, be ready for the FIA treatment with bits and pieces of what Hermann Tilke can do to ruin them. Look at what happened to Trial Mountain.
Grand Valley....we need that in GT7
Cape ring was always my fav
Red Rock Valley ❤️
Would love to see a Cape Ring comeback
Can't believe they didn't bring back Grand Valley. It's one of if not the most iconic original tracks in GT. Grand Valley Speedway, Tokyo R246, El Capitan, my most favourite tracks in the whole series and all three are in limbo, I wonder if I will ever see them return.
Also, no Complex String love? It _is_ an original track and yeah it's more of a test track than a race track I guess, but I think it deserves a mention, I always dreamed to be able to race on it, also Motorsports Land from GT2 could've been a good kart/kei circuit. And Beginner Course didn't even get a minute of fame in here
I did actually mention Beginner Course in the info text. And Complex String is definitely interesting as well. Nobody said otherwise. It just isn't one of the tracks that I intended to feature in this particular video. Who knows, maybe it will be shown in a different video some day. And I think Grand Valley is probably the most likely track to return in the future from the 3 that you mentioned. There have been some rumors that it will come with one of the next few updates.
I just came across your old comment here again and I actually have a Complex String video as well now, showing it together with a similar type of track in Forza Motorsport. :) ruclips.net/video/UFnHAwxTOZ8/видео.html
I run two race series on Gran Turismo 7 and Red Rock Valley Speedway would be perfect for one of them 6:21
It bugs me a lot to know a lot of good circuits but on GT7 you have to play on the same 2 circuits, like Le Mans and Deep Forest.
At this point, every track that gets added on GT7 it's good, at least it's something new.
wow, motorland i wasnt even remembering it being part of GT franchise, i think it has been in NFS pro street also.
edit; damn that pitlane on nordwand XD
That Tahiti Sunday Cup race was always my "I bought a new car/tuned a car and wanna check how it drives" race. Great little circuit.
Biggest miss as of 1.29 for me is still Autumn Ring. Especially the mini version. Was great for early career events but was still quite technical and felt good to master
I remember Mifdfield raceway, El capitan, Tahiti road
But track i miss a lot is Seattle city i think i played it in Gt3
Yep, Seattle was one of the city tracks in GT3. I made a video about the city tracks here: ruclips.net/video/fl8iJBicfpM/видео.html
Some of this tracks are the reason why, in 2022, i’m still playing gt4 and gt6
GOT DONE WATCHING a bunch of misha vids and gotta say the MATTERHORN at the end was SICK. i got into it
I don't know about everyone else, but I am extremely disappointed by how Grand Valley Speedway has been reimagined for GT7.
We need all of them back they were so much fun! I remember! Thanks for doing this vid maybe PD will get get the hint??? ✌💯
Thanks for sharing
Eiger Nordwand is a must .
0:00 🎵Kemmei - Blue Moon🎵
I’m stil nostalgic for gran turismo 3 never played no4 just 3
El Capitan needs to make a come back
I love that all the Swiss tracks not only feature the country's main attraction-mountains-, but also it's superpower-trains.
I got a feeling Mid Field and Gran Valley will return in GT7
Hope Mid Field comes also, one of my fave races. And Grand Valley returned but in a whole New environment
El Capitán es parte de un circuito de rally en Gran Turismo 4 y PSP, es mi circuito favorito en PSP por ser demasiado técnico, tener cambios de elevación bruscos y tener curvas para drift, es perfecto junto con infenion raceway
GT3 was the best layout for grand valley speed
I was gonna say something about Grand Valley but then I saw when the video was posted but even then it's still kinda true since the new Grand Valley is clearly in a completely different location and is a very different layout.
Also, no love for Complex String from GT3? 😂
Yo why does the layout for Tahiti Road kinda look like the layout for Sardegna Layout A??
notable mention is Complex String from gt3
Surely some of them WILL make it into the game. Just gotta be patient.
All Of These Tracks NEED to Come Back Especially El Capitan, Which is For Me My Personal Favorite and One of the Most Underrated Gran Turismo Tracks of All Time.
2:24 is that the death chicane of Dragon Trail Seaside? 😮
Haha, I never made that connection before but it does look a little similar indeed.
El capitan and Seattle from gt4 ...Gt4 was the best from all of gran turismo
I loved Red Rock because of the sunset.
I'm kinda conflicted about adding these tracks back to 7 after what they've done to Trial Mountain's and Deep Forest's last sectors
Also, am i the only one who likes Motorland?
I like it, perfect beginner's track and great for Kei Car racing.
@@TheFurryInShambles a good place for drifting too
Grand Valley Speedway - Really needs to return as the original version, AMAZING track
Autumn Ring - It was a bit long for slower cars, but it was alright
Midfield Raceway - Boring one I don't miss
Apricot Hill Raceway - Loved it, can't believe it's not in GT7, it's been in so many GT games
Red Rock Valley - The best track for high speed cars, so fun to drive on, definitely should return
Motorland - Boring
Cape Ring - Never was a fan of rings in race tracks, rest is ok, for fast cars
Tahiti Road - felt like it took forever to complete a lap with the very first cars in GT2, but it was fun
El Capitan - It was perfect, perfect, everything down to the last minute detail
Grindelwald - Boring
Eiger Nordwand - Don't remember
Matternhorn - OK track, great landscape, could be fun
Red Rock Valley Speedway is one of the best tracks for me. It would be great to see this track on GT7 and not only this one, but all the other tracks as well.
Its a shame that Grand Valley Speedway is so different and ugly if compered to the original one. I hope the next classic tracks that might be added in the game be well made just like the tracks on GT5. GT5 has great scenarios which makes the game way more enjoyable.
