Truly. Everything from the choice of venues, torch relay, artistic segments, and performance had a story to tell. Sadly, a strong minority of the world was unable to see that and chose to focus their attention towards 2-3 drag artists at the opening.
Whoever thought of a rendition of that specific song by that specific artist deserves a raise. "My Way" a.k.a. "Comme d'habitude" is the perfect song to build bridges between Paris and Los Angeles, just like Yseult who made her debut in the Billboard Hot 100 with her last single. Also it's a nod to how France as a country tackled the whole Olympics thing, with immeasurable passion, candor, resilience and talent. The French did it their way. My only regret would be the sh***y weather during the opening ceremony. Had it been milder, the image would have looked wayyy better. Still proud of my country though.

I feel bad that the crowd was leaving the stadium before this final performance, the event organizers didn’t set this up right. They should have announced that there would be a Grand Finale. Such a breathtaking performance.
