Would be cool! The guy is a genius EVEN for bringing so many talents together and heaving the ear to APPRECIATE them, let them flourish, bloom in his studio.
The guy is a genius EVEN for bringing so many talents together and heaving the ear to APPRECIATE them, let them flourish, bloom in his studio. Talking Dr. Dre. That means production. It doesn’t necessarily mean creating a record from A to Z all by yourself, from scratch to finished product. It means directing and having the mind, creativity for it, to make it happen. Dre didn’t create everything in his records, but without him, those records never wouldn’t been created.
Is there anything Mike said that have you the impression that Dr Dre isn’t a producer? Look how much respect and appreciation Mike has, for what he’s learned from Dre.
I have not found anyone with this kind of passion out here in LA. in many years. Too many focusing on money and not the art. You would think more would be concerned with their end product because their name is on it. Listening skills is a must. You really need to understand the direction and how to move the piece there. Not just anyone can do this. Some of these locals should take the time like this guy and STUDY the music & why/how it builds and moves the piece so it doesn't fall flat & boring.
can we have the answer to the Stump the guy question in the description. I am from east coast and usually driving so cant see it when i hear the youtube version. I think a lot of us would agree. Also answer to all the older episodes would be helpful too :)
hey i love this show!!... just a quick question... have you guys ever considered getting ANDY WALLACE???? please?? .. please get ANDY WALLACE before the world ends.. :)
Will there ever be an episode where Herb let's Dave win Batter's Box? He's always shootin' him down! Every damn time haha I feel for you Dave. Keep the faith brother!
I agree, the intro voice is still sounding relatively nasty concerning the ESSES. I bet 10.000 bucks that Dave would NEVER let that pass in any mix he played for a client. So I conclude: please let Dave Pensado "mix" the intro of his own show! :-)
Sometimes I wish Herb would keep quiet and let the engineers talk rather than interjecting "yes....yes....absolutely.....that's just like a pro athlete" throughout the course of the interview.
Mike and Scott both did music w/Dre .
Mike a hidden gem , thanks for sharing
Anybody that works with Dr. Dre, I worship the ground they walk on.
Sus
@@SwagSurf-od3vx🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mike Elizondo, Scott Storch and Mel-Man = Dr. Dre's non-secret secret weapon for the instrumentation on his 2001 album.
Camara Kambon and Sean Cruse too.
Wish we could see more of Mel-Man he doesn't speak and seems like he vanished ever since
I've heard so much talk about Dr. Dre on the show. Get Dre on Pensado's Place!
Would be cool!

Been on a Pensado's place binge, man this shit is the best content ever for anyone in engineering and production
No lie, I was praying for this last week!!!! Thank you guys so much!
Huge props for mentioning Mastodon here, Dave. One of my favorite bands and my main reference to Elizondo's work.
where is he talking about mastodon?
Very Inspirational. Mike is very humble. Checked out Sound City, great documentary.
10:13 "Smooth as a baby's ass" Damn Dave!
I'd love to see Michael 'Seven' Summers on here. He's the in house producer for Strange Music Inc. He's an excellent producer!
Yes. Love your pedals, I've got to get them all.
The bass line in Slim shady was sampled from a song from the British Duo Chas and Dave
"It's america man, if little is good. More is better" haha!
The Mastermind behind a large % of songs that were "produced" by Dr. Dre from 1999 on...

Awesome that he throws in a ref to Becker and Fagen.
Yes, my bass players wanted to be so far in the background they would never show up.
Wow, great point. Would be incredible if they made it happen!
+1 for DJ Khalil to keep the Aftermath theme going...
If anything, isnt it cool to see such good friends having a chat, before the mindblowing information that they produce!
