Those prices are wonderful compared to the U.S. prices. The tomatoes that you paid 1.99 for would cost us between $3 to $5 dollars. I enjoy watching your video's! Thank you for all the time and effort you both put into putting these together. Thank you also for the helpful tips and frugal hints towards managing money, savings and household tips. My own personal favorites are the prices and variety of your shopping haul's. Thank you! I look forward to each new video.

I think in general though wages are higher in America. I’m always surprised when someone on Dave Ramsey says they “only earn $60,000” because that’s quite high compared to a European average wage. So it probably evens out that way 😊

Wages do tend to be higher in the US, but Healthcare alone eats a large percentage of that. Just having insurance has cost our family $1,200 a month. That is before we use it, we have to pay for each time we use it, that is just having the insurance.

I enjoy seeing grocery hauls from other countries. I am in the USA. I try to buy fresh fruits and vegs from local farmers this time of year. I don't keep track to see if they are cheaper, but they are fresher, and I know more about what they are sprayed with, and I am supporting local, North Carolina, farmers. That is important to me. 🍉🥕🍑🍏

What a gorgeous haul! I agree that about buying local and quality. I am in Northern California and shopping here is so expensive even if we do grow lots of veggies and fruits in state. Many times we do better at the Sunday farmers market especially in the summer than stores price and quality wise. Enjoy your beautiful, vitamin rich foods! If you have prosciutto at home, it pairs beautifully with all those melons! Thank you Jane and Mike. ❤to your 🐶

I don't like most frozen or canned vegetables or fruit (it's a texture issue); fresh is worth it for me so I just save money by eating much less red meat, poultry, and fish and having very simple meals much of the time.

The quality of what you showed was superb. A similar melon in Montreal costs about $7.00 Cdn each. They are from the U.S. or Mexico. The local ones will only be available in August. I remember eating those Ile de Batz potatoes when visiting Roscoff. They were wonderful. Here a bag of very ordinary red or white 5 lbs of potatoes would be about 7$ I paid 4$ Cdn on offer for one dozen large free run eggs today. My garden is providing me with some yellow and green courgettes. I hope to get a few peppers soon but it will be awhile until I get some green beans, aubergines and tomatoes although they are available at the local farmers market as I started my garden quite late this year. The garden is also giving me a few raspberries and blueberries and strawberries. Our berry season started with strawberries a few weeks ago and will go until about early September since several later varieties will be available. Corn has started this week but will be best a couple of weeks from now. Thx for sharing this trip with us! Enjoy your weekend and hope you have a great day with your friends.

Everything looks fantastic! Yes,it's not an everyday shop I guess. But quality cost money. Health is important. Honestly, thinking about it now, since you said that the quality of the produce in your usual shopping places dropped....it doesn't make sense to get it even for cheaper,if one not gonna use it fully because of bad quality for instance. Sometimes you open or cut and inside is a bad surprise. As they say, the cheap stuff will cost you expensive. Because you will eventually throw away a lot. It was interesting to see. I didn't know about this shop as a brand. I am not yet there obviously, but will definitely be a pleasure to visit it. I bet shopping there is a big pleasure. How was their fresh meat section? Meat was also on another level? Thanks for sharing. Show the dishes that you will make with everything pls. 👍🏻

They're cotton, they biodegrade. All of our refuse that we don't personally compost, gets burned and the energy from burning it in a totally filtered and non polluting manner gets turned into energy/electricity. This is done locally.

Is Grand Frais an equivalent to Waitrose or M&S in the UK? Thanks for a great video.

@@maryfreeman9231 no, better, like Harrod's food hall. Waitrose and M&S has a lot of convenience food. None of that in Grand Frais. It's like a traditional French market with fresh produce.

@@FrugalQueeninFrance there is one in Frejus where we normally holiday but we've never been in. We'll take a look this year, that'll be exciting to find somewhere new. We used to shop in Ed's but they appear to have all turned into Carrefour Express. Cheers!
