I love how crow just kind of brute forces his way into being a main character. He isn’t a signer, and he wasn’t destined to fight the dark signers-but he does it anyway, he just thrusts himself into the fight and duels alongside the other signers
Well he was suppose to become a dark signer and the main antagonist of arch. But because his blackwing deck became popular in Japan the developers changed things up and made him a signer.
Leo was suppose to be the 5th signer.

After that he self destructed himself by pushing a button on the Ener-D Reactor and it caused a massive meltdown, leading to his suicide and the deaths of many people. Including Yuseis parents and Jack's and Crow's.

I love the antagonists of this arc. They have such unique yet in a sense logical motivations which make then feel more than the typical cookie cutter villains than we see in other shows.
Honestly, the first season of 5Ds has an honestly strong narrative with good character growth... The fact that it revolves around a children's card game is neither here nor there.

@Casswury You don't need to destroy it to get rid of them, since they can be target, you can banish, send to the graveyard (At first might seem confuse, but is different than destroying), Return to the hand, Shuffle in the deck, tribute and so go on, I don't know the time they were created if they were strong, but today they are as easy to destroy than any monster, and all of the average decks have at least one way to do one of the things a said

Remember when Misty used her continuous spell Field Barrier for protection? That was a brilliant move, but still, the Immortals have the ability to direct attack the player for sure

When I first watched this as a kid and finding out Goodwin was a dark signer I was in total shock it was like the biggest twist of them all, and Goodwin having both marks on him I thought that was the coolest thing of all time, but still rooted for crow,jack and yusei to kick Goodwin butt at the same time .
Goodwin always had the maxamillian pegasus vibes from the start. He was nkt to be trusted, its why i think works better as the final boss than Crowe would ve if they stuck to their original plan.

I think we need more people like Rex. The guy doesn't bother trying to control ONE force of morality, but rather BOTH. So many characters focus on one side, but there's the rare few like Goodwin who focuses on & seeks to use both, knowing the power it would grant & the importance of it (importance as in, how bringing them together can create a balance, not just conflict.)

I like this duel a lot. Rewatched this duel several times. For one, it was the first 3v1 in anime. I like the Sun & Moon Dragons. Gotta love the math on 1 ATK monster. I like think Rasca is a dark parallel counterpart to Ra.
Though theoretically isn't Rasca the weakest and should be destroyed by any monster that has attack points like Turbo Synchron or Sinister Sprocket.
Come to think of it was Rex Goodwin strong enough to face Yliaster by himself? Even Skiel Infinity could defeat Goodwin.

Funnily enough, the Dark Signers' Tuners are high level monsters. Therefore, when they *Dark Synchro* they're subtracting larger numbers from small numbers to equate Negative Numbers
