Honestly I like both a realistic and fantastical Batman so I wouldn't mind whatever take they go with, but I would want a fantastical Batman as that would allow people like Me Freeze, Man-Bat or Scarecrow to appear on screen.
Realistic Batman was always bullshit to me. The guy dresses as a bat and punches clowns a and crocodile people. Hell, he fought a vampire in his third issue back in 1939.

@@TheKoolSection I agree, I’m all about it not just being rainbows and sunshine. But writers seem to think because Batman doesn’t have powers, then his movies and rogues need to be grounded in reality.
I completely agree, but I think the only way to do that right in movie format is cast an actor in his 40's to play Batman. That would be the only way to avoid doing the lazy time jump trope. Dick was Robin for roughly 10 years, so there's no way of starting at that point and including the rest of the Family. It could work if it were a TV/streaming series, but there just isn't enough time in a movie to cover it all. I think the Batman element of the DCU should start around the point of The Killing Joke and Death In The Family. That would give us a Nightwing movie, a Red Hood movie and it would open the door for Cassandra Cain, then everyone could have that ethnically diverse Batgirl they so desperately seem to want without race swapping another redhead again.
Hope that the DCU batman goes hard into the slightly fantastical yet grounded route that the Grant Morrison books did, with having him go up against the black glove, Zur-En-Arrh, etc.

No, I don't think Pattinson's Batman should merge with the new universe. Let that be its own thing. I would start the DCU Batman brand off in a realistic manner then lead into the fantastical and the universe expands. How I've always seen it is the first appearance of Superman sort of opens the door for all the metahumans and other aliens living on Earth to come out of hiding and show themselves more publically. Some of them are good, some of them are bad and some of them are indifferent and just to be left alone. Batman's heard tales about people with abilities over the years, but never seen one until his first encounter with someone like Killer Croc, and that could be a great "What in the hell was that thing!" kind of moment.

While I understand your displeasure with seeing DC lean heavily on Batman, the majority or their sales still come from the character. I agree that we need a real Batman for the DCU one that will bring the villains from the comics to the big screen whether it be Ben Affleck or a new actor taking his place no campy Adam West Burt Ward 6 1966 series but this version in 2023
I feel the Talons could just be assassins that work for the Court of Owls instead of being undead killers. That’s the only way I can think of for them to work in Reeves’ Universe
We need a full fantasy Batman movie that is dark and takes it self seriously I’m tired of this grounded Batman approach that we already seen that’s why I didn’t really care for The Batman like that.🤷🏾♂️
Batman has always been grounded on some level that’s what makes the introduction of the fantastical elements great. Stop trying to put Matt Reeves into a box, the man said he’s interested in doing Mr. Freeze. His world is just low tech at the moment, just because killer Croc didn’t pop up in the first movie doesn’t make this a realistic take.
Dude STFU Reeves said a "grounded" Mr. Freeze can fit his Gotham. Just because you love watered down versions of characters doesn't mean that everyone else does. Stop trying to put fans into "your box". We want them to stop running from everything that makes the characters special, instead of these stupid reimaginings no one asked for. Go watch you Pulp Fiction Gimp Zodiac Riddler make weird ass faces again.
With all due respect, I'm not putting Reeves in a box, he's attempting to put outlandish DC characters into a box by taking a realistic approach. One can assume they're not going to do a grounded version of Mr. Freeze & turn around and do a fantastical one in the DCU. We're more than likely getting one version to see on screen for many villains, and I'd much rather see Mr. Freeze closer to his source material version than a grounded that a director thinks "works". If you like his grounded takes that's fine, but understand that everyone isn't looking to see DC characters stripped of certain traits to fit into a "real world" setting.
I think they should do a mix of both realistic and fantastical.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Reeves Batman myself but I acknowledge that there's a fan base out there for it. The best solution for WB in my opinion is to have a realistic & fantastical Batman on screen simultaneously.
The problem is that Reeves' realistic ass doesn't wanna play ball with the fantastical.
I prefer the Fantastical side batman.
I would say realistic. And they should leave The Batman (Pattinson) in its own universe just like The Joker.
