Beautiful new geos, and I love the gold severums! The albino cherry barbs are awesome too I’ve not seen the albino variety here yet. Stubbs aquatic is my fav Canadian channel too, a great guy to be sure🙂 the 250 gallon is stunning!😅
Dear Gil: For me, a black backdrop and substrate are preferable. I’ve tried a white substrate, only to be disappointed, by unsightly algae, on the gravel. But, since you have “Earth-eaters,” your substrate remains attractive, as they constantly churn it. Thank you for sharing this, terrific video showcasing your, lovely, new stock. All my best, Sincerely, E. J. Brinegar
Thanks E.J, yes the geophagus do keep the substrate clean. This substrate is industrial sand and is the closest I could find to mimic their natural habitat. Thanks again mate.
The Golden Severum is amazing - I don't know what your flat mate is thinking! Although, I may be somewhat biased - I always refer to discus as, "poor-man's Severum!😂 I really want a Severum however, I fear for my heavily planted Amazonian tank! When I upgrade to 180g next year - I am going to add a chocolate cichlid. They are the best! Nice aqua-scaping too! 👍
Clearly you are a man of excellent taste. Yeah, my severums have destroyed any plants they have come up against. I have a video featuring my Chocolate Cichlid, you should check it out.
I absolutely love geos. The top portion of the tank looks bare. Have you considered looking for some pink tale Chalceus to occupy the top portion mate? That chocolate has beautiful coloration, do he have a name?
I love Geos too Ras. The top is usually inhabited by the angles, severums and tetras, it's just that they all head to the bottom looking to be fed when I get close to the tank. I did consider pink tails once upon a time, but they are pretty rare here. This tank was set up for severums and geos anyway. The chocolate's name is Derp, and yes he is my gorgeous boy! Thanks for checking in mate. 👊
@@Gilsfishroom always brother. It’s still hilarious how fish always find ways to beg for 🤣. Especially angelfish one track mind. Don’t mind me, I’m just live vicariously through your aquarium again lol 😂. Can you get true parrots over there? They would love your setup…..:
@@Gilsfishroom sorry t hear that buddy. The True Parrots are much more aggressive than people give them credit for. And vindictive too, they don’t forget….
Bahaha gotta love Barbs.. thanks for the shout out.
Loving the butterfly plecos. .

Thanks Chris, now I have to set up a tank for the barbs...

Thanks Jeff. I had never seen the albino cherry barbs before either. I could hear Stubbs' voice in my head telling me to get them.
I think the gold severums are cute, lol, also like Marty! That's a beautiful pleco and nice additions to the tank. 🙂👍
Thanks Tara. The golds aren't the fanciest Severums out there, but I have wanted them for years.
Cute fish pond
Thanks mate. 😁

Always tough being the only one in a household with refined Taste and an eye for the Finer things..............LOL :)
Yes Colin, it is a struggle at times to live with such uncivilised people.
@@Gilsfishroom hopefully genetics will pass on our gift :)
When it comes to my kids, unfortunately my gene pool has been diluted. Are you going to the expo on the weekend?
@@Gilsfishroom I know nothing about it. Where and when is it being held?
Underwater pet expo at Melbourne showgrounds. We are going on Sunday.

Hmmmm..I'm surprized you put barbs in your South American CICHLID tank...The new Geo's are nice though.
The barbs were only in the quarantine tank with the geos, and won't be going in the SA tank. They will be put in a planted tank.
