TRIP REPORT | 7,000KM+ Across Mountains & Deserts! | Paris to Mumbai | Air France Boeing 777-300ER

- Air France Trip Report flying from Paris to Mumbai onboard one of the Air France Boeing 777 on a beautiful winter day over Europe and Asia.
A quite comfortable flight from Paris to Mumbai on an Air France Boeing 777-300ER. I say quite comfortable because there were some things that didn't allow it to be as good as it could be: the plane was really old (windows in bad condition), the cabin was old (no sockets), the crew was not very friendly, one of the worst IFEs I've ever seen... it wasn't a bad flight but it could have been much better.
We took off from runway 09L at Paris CDG airport and quickly made a small right turn to start our route to Mumbai. Initially, we flew towards Zurich. From there we set course towards Venice across the Alps. Luckily the Alps were without any clouds, so we could enjoy some amazing views of them, fully covered with snow. We had also a camera on the right side of the plane, so the views were even more impressive.
Once we reached the Venice area we continued towards the Adriatic Sea, ik parallel course to the Croatian coast. Once again here, the views were stunning. I think we had never seen this part of the world without any clouds ln the channel. What a marvelous place to visit! We flew next to Pula, Rikeja, and Split, while we were flying in direct towards Athens.
We didn't reach the Greek capital, but instead made a left turn and crossed all Greece towards the Aegean Sea. We were flying in direct course to Rhodos island when we entered this sea and we could spot the amazing island of Skiathos, Kos, and Rhodos. From there we crossed the Mediterranean Sea towards the Sinai Peninsula.
We crossed it from northwest to southeast, enjoying some of the best views of the Gulf of Aqaba that I've ever seen. Then we continued across Saudi Arabia towards Bahrein, east of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. We left Dubai on our right and quickly crossed Oman. From there we flew in direct course to Mumbai, where we landed almost 1 hour late.
Let's talk about the onboard service. There were 2 services on this flight: meal (main) and snack (secondary). For today's flight both meal options were vegetarian: pasta with cheese or rice with vegetables. I opted for the pasta. It was one of the plainest meals I've ever had on a plane. It came with a cereal salad which was quite good, a piece of cheese, bread & butter, and some kind of small chocolate dessert. A pretty plane meal to say the least. The coffee though I must say it was really good.
Around 1 hour and 45 minutes before landing the crew served the pre-landing snack. It came on the already classic Air France snack bag. It contained half a sandwich of carrots, 40g of almonds, and a small yogurt. The bag makes it look cool... but it's a ridiculously small meal. Even more if we compare it to what Vistara offers on an equivalent route that we already have on the channel.

Walking in the plane seemed like the world's longest plane.......Love the sound of an engine start. I guess with the TVs they don't have to have a magazine anymore. I can not imagine serving 300 people with food.

I was at CDG late last year en route to Ghana, and I agree it's a very beautiful airport but those windows weren't the best . They basically treat the airport like it's a shopping mall with all the stores in there 😅

Hola amigo. Como es habitual, viajar contigo es recorrer la geografia estudiada en los libros muchas decadas atras, y hoy, recorrerla desde las alturas. Magnifico tu trabajo. De AF, como siempre, un viaje amable, en tiempo, pero un servicio bien miserable, en relacion al costo de los pasajes. No creo que mejore, es como que no les interesa.

I think the AF onboard service was much better in 2017 than now... Even compared to Vistara now, AF service is so poor... =(
It just seems that what ever airline you fly with in economy they are trying to give a very limited standard of service
But your flight reports are always true n honest

Awesome video! I think AIRFRANCE is ok but I have never flown it outside of Europe. On our continent, I consider that their service is basic but still nice comparing to other European Airlines, excluding Turkish Airlines, which is way better.

Besides Turkish Airlines, I guess the best European onboard service is the KLM one.
Haven't flown KLM often but yes, they might be the best in Europe after Turkish.

If you can't fly over Russian air space. How many hours extra does it take to fly to some asian countries. And Australia and New Zealand.

Eres prácticamente el único canal de trip reports de calidad que hacía vuelos nacionales dentro de España y a otros destinos fuera de medio alcance. Por favor, vuelve a centrarte más en esto ya que trip reports de viajes largos con aviones grandes y en business hay un montón. 🙏💟
Eso no va a ocurrir. Seguiré haciendo algún vuelo por España y por Europa, eso seguro... pero el grueso va a ser largo-radio internacional, así como corto y medio en otros países de fuera de Europa.

I feel sorry for you that you got one of the few remaining 777 that has still an old cabin, it's really not common anymore in the fleet as almost all the old aircraft have been refurbished.

That 777 looks old! Those business class seats are from a different era, far from the current standards all major airlines are deploying in their modern aircrafts.
Yeah, this B777 cabin was really old.
Others told me in the comments that this plane is one of the last to be updated with new interiors... In any case, it looks really old =/

Nice cameras work, love CDG and the aerial footage of all the countries you flew over. AF nothing special at all and it looks like a pilot flew as a passenger, maybe he fly out as a crew member

I flew F-GSQD from Paris to Beirut on June 1, 2023. I spent a 4 hour flight doing absolutely nothing because ife wouldn’t work. That was a downgrade big time from the A350-900 we were scheduled on. I hope AF retirés it or refurbishes it soon
Apparently, it's one of the last with the old cabin...
Hopefully it won't last for long this way..

One more question for you: I watched your report about Fly Pegasus and still can not decide whether to fly with them or not. Because, lots other videos on YT show dirty and damaged interiors. And second question: What can you say on leg room? I am tall 194 cm. I browsed web about seat pitch and other things and can not decide if to fly with them or not. What is your opinion? 😊
@@gimus3 Mmm To be honest, you're quite tall haha I'm 1.80m. If you book an emergency exit or front row it should be perfect.
I know Pegasus doesnt have very good opinions... and if many of them are bad, it could be that my flight was an exception?

Also, if the flight is operated on an A320neo or A321neo would be better, as those are the newest planes they have :)
Nice Video. While flying over the Alps that music was out of place. The actual sound of the engine is more powerful than any music and it gives the feeling of sitting on that plane. It sounded like somebody forgot (ignored) to put the phone on flight mode. How ignorant😡
