Loving how these are turning out so far. I like how your put 3 different paintings on the same paper so it seems more manageable even though your still covering the same area if that makes sense

Thank you for stating how important using good paper is. Alot of beginners don't know this and they get frustrated, especially if their painting doesn't look like the tutorial painting. When it's really the paper that's the problem, not their skill level. A brush that holds water well helps, especially with this technique. But it's not as important as the paper, in my opinion. Also, the statement about not being perfect is spot on. Beautiful as always. Thank you for the tutorial.

My fellow artist, thank you for taking the time to create this video. Lately, I have been struggling to find a push to create any kind of art. Mostly enjoy digital drawings and I have been trying to practice more, but things just seem hard and difficult, but thanks to your creativity and sharing this with us, you have helped a lot and pushed me to take the time and practice. Wishing you all the best and creating more :)

So good! Thank you for this, and for pointing out the paper quality makes a difference. My washes look horrible compared to yours but I know I don’t have ideal paper. The reminder that it’s not my fault (besides not having the right supplies yet) was very kind!

so lovely and lovely to watch. I finally did a watercolor painting the other day, using a 12 pack of cheap paints that were surprisingly good imo, at least for learning. The paper was from a $3 "dollar store" and while the colors looked nice, it warped badly lol. Not at the specific places, the whole sheet curled up, but with a book on it over night it was fine and I framed it :D I used some Princeton Aqua Elite brushes, and since then have purchased better paper.
    anyway, thanks for sharing!

Start from light to dark? Do you mean start with yellow vs start with blue? What if you are making something really light blue but want to use a deep yellow? So I guess, light to dark or light value of color vs dark value of color? Does this question even make sense?! haha

Just to be a smartass...for anyone watching with very little experience, accidentally splashing some water on a painted surface that's dry can still cause some of the color to lift and create those faded spots in my experience. It probably depends on both the paper and the paint you're using (how fast and well the pigment settles, how dark or bright the pigment is etc) and how fast you dry it off, of course.
But I think there's always a small risk when you're working on different paintings side by side like this.
If you're really working on something that you want to be 'perfect' in that sense, the only way to completely avoid that is to let the different sections dry completely and cover them with a sheet of paper or something.
