Everytime I hit the spacebar on the q6 it gives me life
I think this keyboard is so excellent out of the box that it may be wise to keep it as-is and wait for newer and better components to be developed some years from now.
how is it wise to wait for years when you can easily do a lot of mods to enjoy it more now? if you like it as it is out of the box that's alright but one of the nice things about keychrons is that you can mod them relatively easily compared to many prebuilt big brand keyboards.
Buying the barebones version of this, getting gateron oil kings and lubing them myself, doing multiple stabilizer mods, and adding foam + tape mods. Hoping it's amazing
Kailh box V2 Brown Switches + Tape and those plastic wrap things that literally every product is wrapped in. Maximum thock
Just put together a V6 keyboard from Keychron. The V6 is generally all the same as the V9 except the V9 is gasketed (so if you push down on the keys they give a bit) and the case is metal instead of plastic. The V6 is great though, it is a very nice case and is like $100 cheaper. Got the barebones V6, and bought the 110 count Cherry MX RGB Brown switches from them too. The casing on the rgb switches is clear rather than black so the rgb shines around more with those switches rather than being blocked by the black casings. The keyboards V6,Q6,... are hot swappable so you can easily change out switches and install them. Then put on Hyper pudding keycaps, these are shine through and the bottom three quarters of the keys are translucent so the really light up well; $15. The Q6/V6 have 108 keys, 4 extra keys in the top right function keys 13-16, where Keychron has them as playstation looking keys. I got two sets of the HyperX so I made the F13-F16 keys filled in with an extra F3-F6 since the Hyper X keycaps were so inexpensive. I now also have replacment keycaps for the keys you most wear out, like wasd.
FINGER. NAILS!
😱
You type like one of those term paper typist outside school 😂
If you like tactile switches and have a medium sized budget id go with glorious pandas. Best switches I have used.
Yup that's the plan so far. But the shipping is expensive.
I recently bought the exact same keyboard, reds + same keycap colours too. Only diff is I got the brass plate and I plan on installing it this weekend. Do you have any idea how to get the RGB working so it reacts on typing like your razer was doing?
I don't think it's possible. You might be able to do it by customizing the firmware though.
@@Kidsnd274 what a shame. It does feel and sound great though
@@muskilhthe firmware is open-sourced. With a bit of configuration or perhaps coding, you can do almost anything.
Do you miss the shinethroughs of the Razer? Actually, does Keychron make high profile shinethrough keycaps? I know their K10 has short shinethroughs. But they feel filmsy. Thanks for your time.
Not really. I think the enjoyment of typing on a nice solid keyboard far outweighs the RGB effects of the Razer. Yeah I remember some of the Keychron keyboards are filmsy.
Keychron doesn't make shinethrough keycaps much to my chagrin. I think the ones that come with their prebuilt keyboards is kinda boring. They have other nicer color schemes for about $40. If you get their barebones keyboard and switches from them; you can pick out a different color set. I went with Hyper X brand pudding keycaps that are shine through and also the bottom 75% of the keycaps are translucent so you get extra rgb color shining through around the keys. The Q6/V6 have 108 keys, 4 extra keys in the top right function keys 13-16, where Keychron has them as playstation looking keys. I got two sets of the HyperX ($15/) so I made the F13-F16 keys filled in with an extra F3-F6 since the Hyper X keycaps were so inexpensive.
The sound and the Quality is night and date . I cannot understand why razer keyboard are called premium in any short of a meaning ?
Good video, but in opinion the stock sounds better than modded. The stock pitch sounds deeper, the modded pitch sounds higher. However, it's case of opinion.
Agreed. For me it's the metal pinginess of the stock sound that I dislike. I prefer the muted sounds of the modded. But I do agree that stock does sound deeper.
@@Kidsnd274 I like how stable these mechanical Keyboards are build, however their loudness hold me back to buy one.
just switched from a black widow to this as well lol
Hello, I'm also considering getting a Q6 for gaming, can you tell me whether you noticed something about the latency? it's not supposed to be that good
Not really, didn't feel that much different compared to the Razer in terms of latency. I've played games like CSGO, Overwatch and Osu and couldn't tell the difference.
@@Kidsnd274 so you can still recommend them and are satisfied yes ?
@@Neikon Yup. It's a great keyboard.
@@Kidsnd274 hey i got the Q6 and i'm excited about it :D i wonder how i always spent over 200 euros on gaming keyboards :D the only thing i think is very bad are the keycaps, i just got PBT caps . which switches do you use?
@@Neikon Haha same here, in the past I kept buying gaming keyboards that were so expensive. I'm using the Gateron Pro Reds now but im planning to switch to Glorious Pandas. I find that linears make my typing accuracy drop although I've been getting used to them.
just gotta say it, those stock switches are definitely blues not reds
Also the switch pads did any good?
Imo no difference. Not worth the time and money.
What typing test are you using? Looks very clean lol
Monkeytype. It's pretty clean
@@Kidsnd274 Incredibly, ty!

The gamer clicky to keychron qnything but clikcy glow up is eternal. Im constantly taking my 0c out of sleep just to get a couple of strokes in.
What's your thought on this vs the K10?
Hmm not sure. I've never tried the K10
@@Kidsnd274 also the GMMK full size currently 50% off for cyber Monday, I don't know of that keyboard is good
LOL if your moding a ~$200 keyboard (Keychron especially cuz their pre builds are on point and are on par with $300-$400 kick starts) then you should spring on the 3M painters tape cuz at this point were talking penny not even dollars.
is your friend baby wolverine?
Yes except there's probably a colony of bacteria growing underneath those
