10 years later: Honey, its been a while since our son has came over for the holidays or responded to any of our calls or texts and i dont know why. It couldnt have anything to do with the fact we treat him worse than the dogs, is it?
Their son is awesome and hilarious, he truly was the sane adult in the house. His calm sarcasm and wryly worded observations were refreshing and made such a good balance to the chaos of his parents. I wish him the best.
That’s what I was thinking. I understand his fear of dog cancer and possibly linking it to a total crap diet for the previous dog. But what good is it if they’re eating all the freezer pre-made meals loaded with who knows what and one or both of them has their health fail. Nobody else would be able to manage these dogs and sadly they may be put down.
There IS a way to manage home cooking for your dogs. I’ve done a combo of home cooked and high grade commercial foods for years with the guidance of a veterinary nutritionist. We cook, and freeze, large batches and it’s a very manageable part of life. The dogs are healthier and happier than ever. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
My dog thinks she's slick refusing to eat her dry pellets, little does she know all I do to make her favourite meal is add a spoonful of dog wet food and mix it in with a little hot water and she gobbles those pellets right up
There’s GREAT pet food out there, and with the internet being greater than ever it’s SO easy to keep your pet healthy. Look into common allergies, specific allergies regarding the breed you have and reviews of the best food/ingredients your pet needs for their life stage and any other specific health concerns. These people are not only ridiculous, but they are definitely not giving their dogs the best diet. They are missing out on nutrition derived from vegetables and other healthy vitamins that many dog foods have. Also too much red meat isn’t good for Great Danes (I don’t know about labs).
I laughed a lot but I realized that this family is extremely loving family towards their dogs. very good hearted ppl and I m happy Victoria was able to help them. they deserved to live in peace.
I commend the family for their patience. No matter how much the father was pulled, dragged, electrocuted, thrown, tugged into walls/obstacles, he never directed any anger toward the animals (as far as I saw). In the end their patience succeeded. Although they were frustrated and not improving the situation, it seems like they had a generally positive relationship with the dogs. I think that helped a lot when it came time to rehabilitate the dogs because the relationship was strong.
Joe: *feeds dogs human food that’s better than them and lets them completely control them* Also Joe:”I don’t feel like we are giving them the life they deserve”
whale shark I disagree, you can love a dog all you want you just have to not cross a line with how you love them. Obviously feeding them gourmet meals is crossing a line.

I get it. They were just a little (a lot) clueless about disciplining their dogs and very heartbroken over Max. I'm so glad they got the help they needed, and I hope Max feels their love wherever he may be.
I mean to be fair some dogs are extremely strong. You notice that the trainer didn't walk the dogs without the special leash. I saw a video of dogs pulling 2.5 tons of weight on a rail (not sure how I feel about it but the owners say the dog enjoys it)
I don't know what had me laughing harder the father being flung around like a rag doll or his son sarcasm. Or the comment section all together. Literally in tears laughing right now🤣😂
After laughing at them when they went to the field with the dogs it just got really serious and I teared up a little when I saw they feed the dogs well and give themselves and *their son* (seriously unhealthy) microwave meals. The son is at a key stage in his life where he needs proper nutrition. And he seems to be the best thing they have. Articulate and well mannered.
Seriously, they should be glad he is not unruly and yells at them. I would personally, though I don't like admitting it, would yell at my parents to get their damn life together if they fed me worse than the dogs.
I haven’t laughed so hard in ages. Between the dad getting shoved around and getting zapped on the fence to them getting stuck in their car and the beeping 🤣🤣
The parents need to be given credit for listening so well to Victoria and not arguing. Too often that ends up happening but they listened and didn't give her any grief.
This episode really touched me because recently had our dog passed away from cancer last month and we also thought it was poor nutrition. But she was 12 years old so it’s was just genetics according to our vet. I got to see her grow from a pup to an adult and she saw me grow from a kid to an adult as well. Even writing this makes me come to tears. To anyone who recently lost their baby….please please please remember and cherish the good memories and keep moving forward. If you adopt another baby, don’t feel guilty as if you’re replacing and forgetting her, instead just make more room in your heart to learn, improve, grow, and love. *Rest In Peace my darling forever Fluffy Fiona* . 💗
obviously depends on what type of cancer, but most cancers in dogs arent the owners fault (ofc if you look after them right.). My mates best friend had to be put down due to bone cancer and he took pretty much perfect care of him, dont ever think it is your fault (ik its an old comment, but hope it helps).
Honestly, I'm sorry for the son. I think it was clear that he resented the whole situation and the dogs, which is something that I doubt would have a positive influence. I'm happy that they managed to get it all under control, preach to Victoria for the great work.
I have never in my life cried over a youtube video, but I was very close to an all out breakdown after hearing that story. I have never, ever wished pain upon an animal, and I still don't, but the dog who attacked that lab should have been put down immediately (I am glad that it wasn't and that Victoria saved them, but without Victoria I can guarantee there would have been another incident). I have a lab that genuinely never hurt a single animal and imagining her being attacked like that... it just breaks my heart.
@@montanawalker8819 Toadie should not be put down immediately. The reason Toadie is asking this way is because he also was viciously attacked by another dog and traumatized. Personally, I think they should give court-ordered dog training vs trying to put the dog down. And if the owners are unwilling to put in the work, then remove the dog from that home and attempt to find another owner that would be willing. Ofc if rehoming doesn't happen eventually, the dog would be put down, but at least give the dog the chance. I'm not the biggest fan of letting a dog bear the punishment of reckless owners. The vast majority of dogs hurting others is because their owners stupidly decided to get a breed they couldn't handle or refuse to put in the necessary work.
@@montanawalker8819 What I don't get is how it took them this long to ask for help. They've spent 54,000$ on their pets luxurious eating habit but couldn't manage to find some good trainers??
You could tell from the very beginning of the episode that these people wanted the best for their dogs and weren't dumb about it, I think that's why they progressed so smoothlg
“It’s a MIRACLE, they ate dog food” A. They’re dogs. B. Not a miracle C. It’s always the parents that need the training. Poor Ben, at least now he gets dinner too.
canaryinacoalmine actually, imagine you get really nice steak dinners or bacon egg and cheese breakfasts. Then imagine you started getting bland cereal. You’d think it is a joke and would be looking for the real meal. The only reason they ate the dog food was because of the table scraps to help them adjust.
@Violet Heavensbee Highly depends. Most dog food brands are alright. The food they give them is not really good, the best would be to switch to a raw diet but if you're not ordering that from certain sites who do the calculation for you then it takes a lot of reading up on nutrition.

I laughed so hard at this my sides started to hurt. This is some of the most unintentionally hillarious stuff ever. The sheer physicality of the dad and his utter obliviousness is like Chris Farley on a bender from hell. The son took it in stride with a good sense of humour though.

It is amazing what people can do when they are valued and encouraged! Every one of these episodes, Victoria's honesty, empathy and her empowering the people makes a huge difference in their own lives and behavior, which in turn makes a difference for their dogs. I'M a pet lover.... But ridiculous when🤔 your pets eat better than the family members....
Alan Kivi Ok well they should be getting a healthy canine diet.
No wonder they're so strong they're getting all that protein from the chicken and beef joints

“I have a tiny home, tiny car and no good place to walk. I think I’ll get a grate Dane lab mix. Hang on, I’ll take 2.”
@whale shark I wouldn't exactly call it love for their dogs, it's more love in the way that someone in a cult loves the cult leader
That field is actually an amazing place to walk a dog and let them roam off-leash, but sadly these people are totally clueless.
whale shark I disagree, you can love a dog all you want you just have to not cross a line with how you love them. Obviously feeding them gourmet meals is crossing a line.

I mean to be fair some dogs are extremely strong. You notice that the trainer didn't walk the dogs without the special leash. I saw a video of dogs pulling 2.5 tons of weight on a rail (not sure how I feel about it but the owners say the dog enjoys it)
I feel wee bad I laughed when he got electrocuted while the dogs were walking him.
@@randomtraveler4149 he probably did but like some or most of the parents, they never listen.

Yeah, he actually looked hungry looking at the dogs' dinner. That's pretty sad. Glad they got it sorted out.

Is no one gonna talk about that Lab they said Toadie attacked? He almost killed some poor dog and left it traumatized for life!

When you have unruly dogs feeding them bodybuilder meals isn't helping is it..

“It’s a MIRACLE, they ate dog food”
A. They’re dogs.
B. Not a miracle
C. It’s always the parents that need the training. Poor Ben, at least now he gets dinner too.
canaryinacoalmine C.
canaryinacoalmine actually, imagine you get really nice steak dinners or bacon egg and cheese breakfasts. Then imagine you started getting bland cereal. You’d think it is a joke and would be looking for the real meal. The only reason they ate the dog food was because of the table scraps to help them adjust.
Violet Heavensbee dog food is very healthy when the right food is given. Dogs maintain a healthy weight and diet.
Violet Heavensbee they aren’t feeding them well. I saw them put garlic in their food. Garlic is bad for dogs.
@Violet Heavensbee Highly depends. Most dog food brands are alright. The food they give them is not really good, the best would be to switch to a raw diet but if you're not ordering that from certain sites who do the calculation for you then it takes a lot of reading up on nutrition.
