Thanks to everyone for taking part in the neutering poll on the episode. The results are interesting (as of the 29th of April):
    Men:
    Neutering is good = 83%
    Neutering is bad = 17%
    All others:
    Neutering is good = 94%
    Neutering is bad = 6%
So while men do agree by a large margin that neutering is a good thing, they DO like it less. Thanks everyone for participating. You can view the results by clicking the little 'i' on the top left corner of the video.

Thats not true at all, I'm a dog sitter and all dogs (except puppies too young) that I look after have either been spayed, neutered of chemically castrated and not a single one is obese, ages ranging from 1.5 years old to 12 years old. Dogs can become obese quicker, but only when not exercised enough and when their feeding isn't regulated in the proper way. For bitches spaying or even better castration can actually prevent a big range of types of cancer. The health risks when not castrated are far greater than the ones when you do. Its overal way better for both male and female dogs to be castrated aka balls or uterus removed. Best is to do it when the dog is between 1.5-3 years old. When the male lifts up his leg on the regular and they've stopped their main growth spurts, so they won't become sexually frustrated

If a vetenarian advise against your dog from being neutered it would most likely be that the dog you want to neuter isn't 6 month which why most Vetenarians deny neutering a puppy because it hasn't reach puberty. And no, there is no evidence to suggest that castrating a dog show little effect in their impulsive behaviour as the only statistic shown is 35%, but that can play different factors like the quality of life of the dog, output of energy, the attention it's getting, etc. You are just lying or being dishonest.

I think it's because testicles are external, so more visible, and tangible (than women's reproductive organs); they get in the way, are adjusted manually (often unconsciously), and can be a source of sexual pleasure for the man and his partner. They're also equated with "manliness," and virilty, the measure of a man's bravery or boldness. It's in our language: "He's got balls of steel," "It takes real balls to do that;" "Balls to the wall!" (to do something with maximum effort or strength, or without caution), despite being quite vulnerable to injury. How Ironic. They produce testosterone, the hallmark of defining the male gender, masculinity or maleness, though that is changing, as gender diversity, gender non-conforming (GNC), non-binary and transgender folx emerge and are recognised.
So, it's no wonder that many men equate castration of their dogs with cutting off their own balls - and losing "power" in the process - just like that guy said. He's anthropomorphising his dog, and neutering the dog feels threatening to him and his sense of virilty. Even when the dog continues to hump, he still waivers on that decision to curb Pugsley's antisocial behaviour, that'll protect his children, visitors and others outdoors, as well as other dogs he might encounter on walks. It's ridiculous.

Okay so I think the percentage of neutering is bad is kinda both sided. One side is like the father in this video. The other side is probably because of medical issues. For example, I agree with neutering but not until a certain age for some dogs. A smaller or medium sized dog is better neutered at 5-7 months. Larger breeds, its best to wait until they are one year or older. (There are some exceptions but probably 8 months or older for a large breed is better since their bones and bone plates need to grow).
Of course, neutering is definitely needed to make the dogs much calmer, and to house more than one dog in the same home. Just sometimes people read articles about how neutering at a young age is bad (which it is) and assume it’s just bad.
Just wanted to get that out, thanks if you read it :)

My 120lb big guy has an obsession with fresh, raw eggs and get half a dozen or so a day (my chickens produce 20+ eggs a day) and he's healthy as a horse.
