- In this video we talk about rides at Universal Studios Orlando that aren’t worth the wait. For each of these attractions at the Universal Orlando Resort we talk about exactly how long we are willing to wait for that ride, and talk about why we will only wait so long for each ride. We also talk about some of the typical Universal Orlando wait times for each of these attractions at Universal Studios 2022. Rule 1: if fast and furious is a walk-on, and you’re literally the only person in line, it’s still definitely not worth the wait

Why's everyone hate this ride? Lol. The queue has the best AC in the park and the Jamie character is hilarious. I love it as a ride to get out of the heat and clear your head some.
Since I had watched previous videos regarding The Fast and Furious ride when we went a few weeks ago, I told my husband we were going to skip it. He wanted to check out the gift shop, so we did. A woman coming off the ride said, “that ride was a joke, worst ride ever.” I laughed and told her I’d been warned. She said she wished she had been warned and not wasted her time. 🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha that’s so funny! Some people enjoy it, but the general consensus is that it’s just a huge disappointment! We just don’t think it lives up to the series at all, which is why it’s so disappointing.
I've said it for a while, if you go in expecting the absolute worst ride ever. You will enjoy it. Because it is just so bonkers. At one point vin diesel is as big as a helicopter. My favorite part was being able to see the mechanics of the actual 3d screen portion. I spent more time looking at that than the actual screen 😅

Last week Hagrid's had a single rider line. It cut our wait times to less than 20 minutes, and sometimes it was almost a walk on when standby was an hour or more. My wife and I enjoyed the strangers we shared the ride with even though we prefer riding together, but we were never more than two or three cars apart.
We waited almost an hour in single rider. It’s hit or miss.
We've heard several stories from both sides! Apparently with the two seater rides like Hagrid's and Velocicoaster where each row only has two seats, there's less of a need for single rider. So sometimes you'll get lucky, but other times you could be waiting forever!

I imagine you have been asked this multiple times but I haven’t yet found aN answer. I have been to Both universal Hollywood and Orlando. Orlando only for 1 day visits (2 times) I am a single parent and plan on taking my 2 adult children plus my daughters BF and my 11 year old son (he will be 11 when we go) in 3 years. How long of a stay do you think I should plan? Epic Universe will be open by then. They have never been to Universal before. They love Harry Potter but I am looking for the biggest bang for the buck.. remember.. single father here.. lol! Anyways thank you for reading this..

@The Pugh Two I agree with this! Maybe factoring in how much time each ride is worth in terms of how "expensive" they are. After all, time is money when you are at the parks. So a ride with a long wait "costs" more than a short wait.
It might be interesting to calculate this and the wait for the Express lines side by side, to see if Express is really worth the time saved compared to how much you pay for them.
Like if Express cuts a rides wait time in HALF (this is probably the minimum time saved with express, most of the time it cuts the time to about a third) they would be worth the money even if they DOUBLE the cost of admission.
I am willing to wait up to 75 minutes for Hagrids. We did like 4 times on our last trip. Typically we will do Velocicoaster when the wait is 35 min or less. We got to Gringotts at park opening is its usually less than 25 min when early park is in Islands.
All of those are great rides! So jealous you got to do Hagrids 4 times!
You guys nailed this! Our thresholds are about the same for everything but Dr. doom. I often can’t justify the walk to the ride bc it’s such a short ride, 5 minutes is our threshold there! We had our kids with us in January and FINALLY got to ride Pteranodon Flyers. It’s short but I loved it! Even better than I had imagined. Would definitely ride it again.

Completely agree on Ride of Kong - not - worth the wait….was able to do a walk on for my first time, and even though it was a cute ride, and not “bad” per say, it wasn’t an long wait time worth ride for me, lol

Heyyyyyyyyyyyy lol. I knew F&F would make the list (and deservedly so). I was so excited it opened 2-3 days before my wife and I visited and then it was a HUGE letdown. The queue is the best part. You're correct that it already needs to be replaced lol

@@ThePughTwo Exactly! It's based on really famous action movies & they made it a slow moving bus where you can see some OK action on a screen on only side of the bus lol. Queue is amazing, I'll give them that. But the ride itself is a snooze.

This was super helpful! I can’t ride simpsons either. With FNF I told my family, if they had an actual party at the end of the ride it would be worth it. It’s just annoying they talk about a “party” and you never get one lol.
Haha yeah, the party scene is one of the infamous things from that attraction. A party at the end would probably help!

I went to Universal last Thursday through Sunday morning and I can say that my folks and I almost didn’t go through with riding Skull Island because it got delayed while we were waiting and the line was at a stand-still for, if I remember right, twenty minutes.
Oh wow, that’s never fun! That ride seems to get delayed quite a bit!
My wife and I have watched many of your videos and can't remember if you have ever talked about The Bourne Stuntacular. We enjoyed it even though we were sitting only a couple rows back from the stage.
We love the Bourne Stuntacular! It actually prompted us to watch some of the movies, and they're great too. The technology is crazy!

Have been loving your tips and tricks and definitely interested in your wait time thresholds for more of the rides. A huge Harry Potter fan and so looking forward to riding Hagrid’s motorbike for the first time! Any tips on making that easier would be most appreciated😁

As far as Hagrid’s goes, early park admission or rope drop if that’s not available is probably your best bet!!
I agree with most of your thresholds. I am glad you started with Dr. Doom because this was the ride I thought of first after reading the video title. I like Spiderman better than Transformers as well. I will not ride Hagrids if it is over an 80-minute wait (Note that I am a season pass holder who lives in Florida). Jimmy Fallon is probably 10 minutes for me and Rip, Ride, Rocket is 30 minutes.
Haha we’re glad we’re on the same page! We agree with most of these, too. We really do have a threshold with Hagrid’s and it’s probably around 80-90 minutes. We’re jealous you’re so close to the parks, we hope to get down there one of these days!
Hahaha next time you go let me know I have a son who may still meet the criteria for the flyers 😆 we went with a group last year and he went on it a thousand times with all different people who had never been on it before. Too funny.

Motion sickness is never an issue for me and for some reason I got sick on the Simpson ride too.

Odd, I went on it and didn't get sick. Possibility: I sometimes like to watch a quick TV episode with a 3D box that goes around a cell phone screen so it mimics 3D but not exactly. The effect doesn't work for everyone.

One time I was at Universal Studios, and the wait time for transformers was 75 minutes, single rider was closed so we went on Jimmy Fallon and came back and single rider just opened so we waited for transformers for 20 seconds the ride was longer than we waited for

The Spider-Man ride was pretty cool, but even though it had a 45 minute wait time, there was one section before you make your way to the offices, it was brutal! It was muggy, and we had to slowly move through, with a mask!
Yeah they only use that part of the queue when the line gets really long! It’s in the sun, too, so you just kind of bake! Lol
Spider-man has always been my favorite for years. It could use an update though

I think Fast and Furious Supercharged is the worst and most frustrating ride in the parks. Not just because it is terrible once you get on it, but because the merge point where the Express/Virtual Queue line meets up with the standby queue is soooo early. After the merge, there's still about 30 minutes worth of queue left. So if the wait is less than 30 minutes, you're saving no time by using express or virtual line. And if you do use them on a busier day, you are still waiting at least 30 minutes.
Plus, there are 2 very long and (in my opinion) agonizing pre-shows. So its hard to recommend the ride to a first time visitor because it's such a big time commitment, and even on a trip when I have express and I'm trying to do everything I can, it's just not worth doing. One ride was enough for me.
We definitely agree with a lot of this! It's frustrating on rides that merge you early because you still have to wait a good bit. We get spoiled with express! lol we always tell people to try everything because there are a number of people that love this attraction. But for us, once was enough too!
I skip a lot of things: Fast and Furious, Jimmy Fallon, Dr. Doom, Woody Woodpecker, water rides (except Jurassic World), Flight of Hippogryph, pteranodon Flyers, Simpsons, basically all kid rides except Cat in the Hat.
I like riding my favorites multiple times.
Once you've experienced everything, we feel like it's only natural to gravitate to your favorites! We definitely have a habit of skipping certain rides at the parks, too!

Years ago i got stuck and evacuated off the trolley Suess ride. They gave us free Butterbeer (per my request lol) and FJ fast passes. This was before i was more brave for rides tho oof- and was like years ago so i lost it lol (if it would even still work)
Oh my gosh that's so funny about the butterbeer! If you ride enough rides, you'll get evac-ed every once in a while!
@@ThePughTwo yeh lol. I remember telling my group I’d love some butterbeer after we had been stuck in the heat till evacuated. The cast member said “done” and had another cast member i believe take us to that lovely cart at Hogsmede entrance. Butterbeer was given, i miss it. Its the best- but i wanna try the fishy green ale and the orange fizzy drink (i have tried Pumpkin Juice but I’m not super into it)
Fast and furious should have been a racing ride where you have to shift gears at certain times like a mini game and you can get a better score than who you are with.
That would be so much fun! We’ve always said we envision something like test track at Disney where you’re actually in a car. It just seems so logical??? Lol
Another suggestion: make it a side by side go kart ride that lets users drift the cars. The tracks both go straight for about 300-400 feet, make a U-turn and back.
It’s crazy cause my mom and I get sick on certain rides but not the Simpsons, and everytime we went the wait was crazy long

Heeeeyyyyy! I loved the Beetlejuice show and the Disaster ride so when they replaced it with Fast & Furious, I wasn’t happy. When I rode it …I was mad. lol waste of money on there end.

All the kids rides, except possibly Flight of the Hippogriff just for the hippogriff.
Then Dr. Doom free fall very weak drop tower and fast the the Furious ride
Hippogriff is a lot of fun and of course you get to see Buckbeak!

The 3D screens bother a lot of people, so you’re not alone!
The problem with Higwart’s Express, is that it is such a slow moving Attraction. But, honestly, I am terrified of the Lighthouse at The Entrance to Islands of Adventure. So, I do not know if there is another way around that thing.
It’s just the nature of it, unfortunately. It’s still nicer than walking most of the time, though!

In a few years when it's time to replace rip ride rockit's coaster track they should just re-theme it to fast and furious and maybe change the layout a little bit. Bring all the stuff from the queue over to the new location since that's the best part of the ride currently. Lol. But a roller coaster would do that money-making franchise justice.

I'm terrified of the Dr. Doom ride. I can ride Hulk and Velocicoaster over and over but I'm afraid of Dr. Doom. It's the legs. I hate when my legs are dangling. If there is something for my feet to touch then I'm okay.

How are you going to get on? A family friend and I tried to get on pteranodon flyers and we were both denied entry. Why? We were a foot OVER the maximum allowed height!

March is spring break season where schools around the country get out for 1-2 weeks, so March is unfortunately pretty busy!

Man I also get motion sickness with some rides. I think the age is catching up with me because I was rollercoster king back in the day and now I’ll opt for some universal duck feeding lol. I always want to skip Simpson's because it makes me super nauseated. Our kids are old enough that they don't want to go in Kids Zone or on Despicable Me. I have also never done Storm Force because again... BARF! Oh yeah, and RRR. We have a smaller version near us, and that's about as much as I can take sitting on my back to start a ride!
Lol I have to take Anna on Storm Force cause honestly its one of her favorites period! We love RRR! We have some geat memories on it!
Let's say you're in Islands of Adventure with a Park-to-Park ticket. If you only have the Express Pass for Universal Studios Florida but you want to take the Hogwarts Express from Hogsmeade station (in Islands of Adventure), will they let you use the Express Pass? Or does it only work if you're traveling from Kings Station (Universal Studios Florida) to Hogsmeade (Islands of Adventure)?
So the way we understand it is the express pass would only work for the Hogwarts express leaving Studios coming to IOA and not the other way around

🙋♀️I have a question. How do I buy discounted park tickets with my UOAP? Can I do it online, over the phone, or is it in person? Also, where is the best place to pick up my pass? It’s paid in full if that makes a difference. We are staying off site as well.
You have to purchase the discounted tickets at the gate, and you have to show your AP to purchase them. Since you’re staying offsite, you’ll have to go to will call/ticket pickup outside of either of the parks to get your pass. We would suggest getting there as early as possible because that line can get crazy!

Wait. So are adults able to ride Pteradon Flyers? We took my 10 yr old last spring and they wouldn’t let us ride. Said we were too tall. I’m only 5’ 2” & she was under 5’…
Adults are only allowed to ride if they are accompanying a child between a certain height range. This ride is specifically made for kids and adults can't ride it by themselves!
I want to see your threshold for the Hogwarts Express? At what point does it become easier to just walk around the front entrance?
Oh we don’t ride the train unless we have express passes, and even then we won’t get on it unless it’s basically a walk on. We love the express, but that line can get crazy! It’s just the nature of it with the train going back and forth, but we walk the majority of the time.
Hi, The Minion Mayhem ride when I was there March 18-21 it was 3D. I guess they hear all the complaints about it being 2D and switched it back. Just wanted to let you know it is back to 3D.

Hey anyone got advice on how to do the 2 parks and then hhn in the same day? I'm thinking a nap at the hotel might be a good plan. I'm planning to stay onsite so we can just walk back easier. Anyone got experience with this? Is that a good plan?
We have done it.. however its a long day! It depends on what you are wanting to accomplish with the day. If you are wanting to ride everything and see all the houses at HHN, its basically impossible, even with express. If you are just wanting to have fun and do things as you get to them, then of course its an option!
