Nice addition Q - I'm going to wait for the before and after pictures of your ATV's undercarriage and how it goes on with a good commentary - could turn into a drinking game with certain words. Nice swag they send with the order. Cheers
LOL wtfbuddy1, I can only imagine the commentary that will show up under your name 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, good swag indeed! Not sure if that's normal or if they threw in a little extra for me😉 - lol.
Thanx for the comments and for watching bud!
Holy crap, 3 videos in a week? Love it.
Sweet skid plates. Looking forward to the install video. Hoping you’ll also show how the old ones come off. That’ll be great for us that still have the stock skids and need to remove them for cleaning, etc. Thanks 👍
Good idea EverydayATV. Hopefully I'll remember to do that. Thanx for the comments and for watching!
Super upgrade! Iron Baltic has a great reputation for quality skids plates for the Japanese brands. The plastic has been proven to have less friction, so it will slide over objects better. Great choice Q.
Yeah, the friction issue is one of the reasons I went with plastic over the aluminum Iron Baltic over some other brands. Thanx for the comments and for watching bud! Always appreciated!
I really like the uhmw skids I went with on the sportsman 850. I really think you are going to love them after install.
I used a hole saw and made a few more drainage holes in mine and it has made a big difference both while riding and for clean out.
I'm really enjoying the video's and thanks for the support on my channel!
Right on! I was thinking of doing the same thing (making some of the drains bigger) with a hole saw, but I'll wait until I have them installed and test them out first. Thanx for the comments and for watching QB!
A good add to the Hondadozer , keep the sticks and what nots at bay.
lol - exactly!
seems to me like the days of your skid plate letting you down are behind you now Mr. Q. I think you made a good choice going with the plastic. She'll slide over anything you point at it. Congrats bud.
Thanx Rodney! I hope you're right.
Cant wait to watch you install them !
Try your best to keep the language Ontario appropriate please ! LOL
Q's bulldozer service, not a trail we cant conquer , trees have met their match with Q and his Rubi ! And trusty side kick Taco , the chain saw bandit !
LOL
Taco the chainsaw bandit - Hahahaha Tim'r! Too funny! Ontario is too far away to send their language police after me, so I'm not worried about them - lol - it's the guys in Estonia I don't want to piss off 🤣🤣🤣!
Wow those are some impressive skid plates! I don't think you will need to replace those for a while.
Let's hope not - lol
I think that skid plate is going to last you for many years to come even though it is plastic. The plastic looked to be about a half-inch thick or more. I love when a company sends you some extra paraphernalia with their orders. I look forward to the install video buddy.
Yeah buddy, I hope you're right! They are designed for northern cold weather terrain, so I feel good about my purchase thus far. We'll see how the install goes and how they perform afterwards. Thanx for the comments and for watching my friend!
I always end up taking the skid plates off when we're winter riding so the ice and snow doesn't build up and cut the boots on the CV joints. But you know we're kinda nutty that way in Manitoba. lol
lol - doesn't seem nutty to me. I might have to do the same thing.
Jeez Q, when you put the merch shirt on I could swear I heard that techno song "Too sexy for my shirt.." in the background. Kind of half expected Taco to come out as a backup dancer. Anyway looks like a good setup. I'll be curious to see how the plastic holds up. The weight and money savings could be a big plus.
Hahahaha Simcoe! How does your mind work to imagine Taco as a backup dancer? LMAO! Too funny bud!
Awesome looking skid plates! Yeah that thing should be protected really well!
We all know you need it after your last video. Lol hahahahaha
LMAO KC! It seems like the trails just keep getting worse and worse. Who's in charge around here anyway? 🤣🤣🤣
@@quaddingsous 50 miles to the nearest town I would say
you guys were in charge! Hahahahaha! 😆😆
@@kcatv9556 🤣🤣🤣
Umm Hmm Some Serious Whoop-T-Doo Plates There, Lets Install 'Em Q ! ATB T God Bless
You bet'ya! Thanx for watchin' Terry!
Those seem pretty dang strong and I’d gather they’re lighter too.
Not sure they would be as light as the aluminum. Hard to say though.
sweet stuff
Thanx Viheavyequipment! Hopefully the install goes smoothly!
That is one beefy set of skid plates ! I've never had an issue with stock ones but I can see how they would be an upgrade. I like the thick plastic, I find plastic will slide over obstacles like rocks/logs better than metal, that's just my opinion though. I'll be looking forward to the install video.
I totally agree with you about plastic having a slicker surface than aluminum.
Buddy, where you ride, you don't need skid plates - lol 😉
NICE Q !!!!
Thanx Gunny!
Those are pretty beefy skid plates! I've contemplated them... and the only reason I haven't bit the bullet is because of cleaning. I feel too much junk would be trapped... and that would drive me bonkers.
I'm pickin' up what you're droppin' buddy! That's the very reason I haven't bit the bullet on a set of full skid plates up until now, but the last ride we were out, I had a 2' long 1" thick stick come right up through my running boards. It did some damage and scared the crap out of me, so I figured it was time. My buddy James has a full set and he said it was literally the end of his machine getting damage. Said he hasn't had a torn boot since, which was about 4 years ago. He also had reservations about stuff getting caught up, but he says he's been pleasently surprised at how well they drain. These Iron Baltic ones looked the best when I was looking on-line.
@@quaddingsous Yeah you obviously have to weigh out the pros with the cons. I mean, the pros are a little heavier for sure. It's just my OCD speaking, haha. Looks like a great setup that you picked up, looking forward to the install video.
I’ve seen all your videos, you need to just keep a blow blade on the front year round lol 😂
BAHAHAHA Biggie!!! That's not such a bad idea if you think about it? 🤣🤣🤣
Thanx for watchin' bud!
Awesome Q looks great let me know how holds up if the brittle or not cold weather will tell but they look nice 👍
They are apparently designed to withstand cold northern climates, but like you said . . . We'll find out. I'll keep you posted buddy! Thanx for watchin'!
Just put these on my 800xc. A lot better then factory
Yeah man! I love 'em! Thanks for the comments and for watching Jason!
Stand the quad up on its ass end and it makes installation easy peazey while standing up... Shut fuel off and make sure fuel caps tight first before bending over and lifting the front end up like a boss..or winching it up if you're a weak assed chef type... Jus throwing that out there Q.. 😁
Ya, I was planning on doing that. Should probably go for a rip first and drain some of the fuel out of that full tank. Thanx FJ.
Woww,2 vids in one week??? Wth ??? Are you sick or did Neecee kick you out to the garage again ?
BAHAHAHA!!!! Too funny FJ!
Feel like I just watched a Q dressing moment🤣🤣 Those skids plates look like you are armor protecting your quad. You can almost drive through baghdad with those on! Got me checkin their website out now
I agree! They look stout as hell!
Be happy it wasn't an undressing moment that you just watched!
@@ElevationATV . . . LMAO! Yes, be very very happy!
@@ElevationATV I dunno, for an old man, he pretty good looking.. hes not that washed up and hung up wet.. yet..🤣🤣
@@expeditionidentity892 You know, Mrs. Q is going to start getting a little jealous if you keep making comments like this. 🤣
Looking forward to the install video. What is this cleaning thing you seem fixated about? 🤷♀️
Hahahaha! It's a primordial response to the feeling of being overtaken by the earth.
Oh, and it's a good way to check for damage, loose bolts, etc - hahahaha!
