  • Forced myself to really try to get air (even microscopic) off of the jumps on 100 Proof at Veteran's Park today. I finally "stood up to the jump" (as recommended by Loam Ranger: • How to Jump your MTB (... , which definitely got me air on both wheels without much effort.
By the end of the 45 minute session I was getting repeatable results, though very very low altitude. The important thing is I was mostly over my intimidation around even the smaller jumps, which is a great feeling!
To me, the important thing is to gain confidence, consistency, and technique and then work on height and distance.

Great progress! Which Loam Ranger video were you referring to in the description? I'm also a newbie looking to do some jumps, and I'll take whatever advice I can get, lol.

Hey, I should have included that in my description, a? Here's the link:

It really truly is about as simple as he says. For me the major issue was just getting over the fear of having both wheels in the air, even if it's only a few inches.
